Friday's Look

Wow people.  I am sitting here trying to keep my morning coffee down as I woke up with my migraine even worse than it was when I went to sleep last night.  I can barely see as the pain is so bad.  I'm going to see how much of this post I can get done, then back to bed I go.

It's also supposed to be a billion degrees outside today.  Man how I long for Fall and Winter already!

I haven't posted on Instagram in one whole week.  I was one who posted every single day.  It was my thing. When I did do that, people never followed me.  This time, I've posted nothing and I've jumped up like twenty new people! I will never understand it.

Oh I have a beef today before we get to my last eye look for this week.  I don't play any iphone games.  I'm talking Candy Crush and the like.  It irritates the crap out of me when people who have friended me on Facebook then use that to "ask" me to help them inside the game.  Apparently you can get others to help you get higher up in the game or whatever.

But when someone solely uses you day after day just for that purpose? Yeah it pisses me off.  I actually unfriended one person for this very thing.  I did figure out that I can also block the game from having people ask me to play along.  Wish I had known that sooner.

Just like I hate being added to Facebook groups without asking, please don't ask me to play in these games unless I tell you it's ok.

Capiche?

Ok.  Here's the last eye look for the week.

This was a heavy blue look.  My mistake for this one was using too stiff an eyeshadow brush and didn't realize it would glop on a ton of dark blue shadow,  At least my glasses hid a majority of the sins here.

Oh and the other fail for this day? I used too stiff  a bronzer brush and had a funny color forehead in spots.  I had to take more makeup to tame the beast! HAHAH!

Here's the colors I used.  MAC Uninterrupted, then Dagger and Slanted from the Smoky palette with blue liner.

Now I have four upcoming posts planned for you.  One is showing off all the different Naked palettes, one is showing you my new luminizers from TheBalm, one is the difference between foundations and how to choose one and lastly the monstrous list of steps to putting on your face.

Oh and I will have a post showing you what polish I've worn.  No art, just color.

I hope these sound exciting to you. If you have any topics or questions, let me know!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Tuesday's Look

I did not have a good week last week at all.  One woman was on vacation that directly impacted me in that I am the only other person who knows how to run the head and neck cancer clinic.  She had told everyone that all the doctors were on vacation and there was only one clinic that needed covering.

Then comes Monday morning and I get a call wondering why I'm not in the clinic running it.  WTF? It seems that that woman must have been looking at some other random week and there was a FULL week of clinics that of course I was expected to cover.  The care partner called out sick the entire week which meant I was it.

This is on top of the mountain of new work they are expecting me to do.  I am beyond overwhelmed and now because of this past week, I am so far behind in my work that I ended up crying at my desk from the sheer amount of it all.

I tried to talk to my new boss, who always said how awesome I do my job.  I told her how that is no longer going to be the case and when things start slipping, I'm the one who is going to be yelled at by the doctors.

It seems in her short time as our new boss, she has come up with a rote speech, minimizing the issue and just making me feel even more upset.  She just repeated the speech I've heard her tell others such as all the new people they are hiring and that everyone is strapped right now and it'll all get better etc.

Yeah thanks.

Now it's the weekend and I have a massive migraine, which I haven't had in quite a while since I started new medicine for them.

Anywho, here is what I did for Tuesday's look.

This didn't translate, but it's a pinky purple look.

I used the color Smolder on the top Smoky palette, and the 2nd and 4th pinks on the bottom Naked 3 palette. Used the purple eyeliner at the bottom from Urban Decay.

I used the white highlighter and the 2nd from the darkest contour and Nars Orgasm again.

I've realized I've been putting the contour on my cheekbones instead of below them. And I've realized I need to put a bit more than I have been using.  I'm still a work in progress!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Thursday's Look

You will never in a million years guess what I did on my day off this week.  I met up with a friend of mine who was going to an area of my state that I don't get to see very often.  This friend likes to sail and we were running errands for him in this area.

We first stopped at the boat store, then the sail repair store, then he wanted to go to this place that does sailing classes.  It just happens to be in a yacht marina where they sell yachts.

Now never in my lifetime will I own a yacht.  Never in my lifetime will I know or hang out with someone who has that kind of money to own a yacht.

I can no longer say I will never be aboard a yacht.

Yup.  We decided to act like we were yacht shopping.  Damn if I didn't think to take pictures to show you.  I'll see if I can google some for you.

Anywho, these yachts were dry docked, which means they are on land up on stilts.  We didn't start with no dinky yacht.  The first one was a  Hunter 41 footer.  You climbed up a big ladder, then got on the yacht ladder to get onto the ship.  Inside, so beautiful.  Two bedrooms, dining room, kitchenette, two bathrooms. Crazy cool.

Next, we went aboard a Hunter 45 footer.  This was sort of the same inside, same colors, same patterns of fabric, just bigger.

Then the last one? Was a 50 foot Hunter yacht.  Retails for $500,000! Yeah let me write you a check!

The stupid thing was, I was wearing a miniskirt, the wind was blowing and I'm climbing a damn ladder.  Hopefully, I didn't flash anyone!

Here is the dinette.  Then the master bedroom, with a Jacuzzi under the bed.

Oh and there's a walk in closet too!  Here is the main room. Yes those are leather seats!

Yeah it looked just like this!  It was just a cool experience I never thought I'd have.

Now here is my eye look for Thursday.

This is another brown look.  It's my favorite to wear.

I used the Smoky palette, colors Dirty Sweet, Radar and Whisky with brown liner.

I used the lightest contour and Nars Orgasm.

But instead of these highighters, I used new ones I got from TheBalm that I am doing a whole separate post of!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Monday's Look

It happened.  I was asked to participate in Stupid's farewell lunch.  I politely declined, using the excuse that I had a clinic to do at that time.  I was then given a card to sign.  I waited until that coworker had left the room and slid the unsigned card back onto her desk.

The next day, Stupid's last day, I was asked if I wanted to sign the card again.  This time, I looked at my coworker and simply said, 'no thank you.'

Now for the past 3.5 years this coworker has been covering for Stupid, doing her work etc.  On her last day can you guess what happened? Stupid came, cleaned out her desk and disappeared.  I was in clinic, so I missed all this.  I was told that my coworker started crying as she was hoping that on the last day, Stupid would at least help with the work load.

There was a lot of crying that day.  That's for another post.

I don't know if someone said something to Stupid, but apparently, she came back and eventually did help a little.  It turns out I was done with my clinic and at my desk with my back turned on the "last supper".  Did I feel bad? Did I even give a sh*t?

Nope. Not one bit.  May I rot in Hell? Perhaps.  I'm ok with that.

Now, my plan for these makeup looks was to do one of those face charts like they do at MAC.  I made some photocopies, but am having a hard time working up the motivation, plus I'm not sure anyone out there is happy with my change in topics lately.

I'm ok with that too. I need to do something different for the moment.

This was my eye look for Monday.

There are a ton of steps to putting on a real made up face.  I will do those steps in another post.

This was a mixture of browns. MAC Uninterrupted for the base color, Then Combust, Whiskey and Black Market from the new Naked Smoky Palette.

What I forgot to do was add a pop of a light sparkly shadow on my middle lid.  I forgot that step!

I wore the pink highlighter, and darkest contour shade from the IT Cosmetics palette with my Nars Orgasm blush. I'm still trying to figure out contouring.  I think I figured it out later in the week.  I'll explain then!

I started with my L'Oreal Infallible foundation and all the base steps. Undereye concealer, highlighter, eyeshadow base, powder.  It just goes on and on!

These are the three foundations I've been rotating.  I'll go into more detail in a foundation post.

I finished off with my brows and mascara.

This first time doing this took me a good 35 minutes.  I forgot a couple of steps along the way.  I've had to write them down in order so I don't forget.

I plan on sharing those with you in a later post!

Tell me what you think? Do you have any ideas or topics or particular areas of makeup you want me to talk about?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Ole Hendricksen Skincare

So last post, I introduced you to the skincare line I've been using the past six months.  Like I told you, I do love it, but I am still getting one or two cystic acne spots once in a while.  While that may be my new norm, I wanted to at least try something else.  I had seen on a YouTube video this girl who says she has cystic acne use a brand called Ole Hendricksen and in particular the Three Little Wonders set.

She claimed it has changed her acne so much so that she is using less makeup etc.  While I am mostly happy with my M2, I just had to try this brand to see if it would help those last few spots I get.  I have only been using it so far for less than a week as I write this, so I will add an edit before this posts with an update.  The site claims to change your skin in one week.

It is also an all natural brand.  I kind of like that.  Oh and here's a little secret for you.  The set I linked you to? That's the cheapest way to go.  If you buy the products full size, you will pay way more.  So while that is an awesome thing to know, realize you will run out of the cleanser and moisturizer first as they are twice a day.  So I figure at some point when I have too many serums, I will buy a full price cleanser and moisturizer, then go back to the set.  It is also in a good price range, so not too expensive.

Just helping you guys out! Yes I did the math AND asked the company and they agreed!

Here is what you get in this set.

First, how pretty are these colors???? Even with my stupid camera!  I will now go into each one separately.

First is the winner of the best all natural cleanser ever.

This is the African Red Tea Foaming cleanser.  It does what is says, when you pump it out, it comes out as a foam.  Personally, I hate that, but I do really like the cleanser.  Now I do like the M2 brand says which is to leave it on for 30 seconds before rinsing.  I think that is a very good idea and gives this the chance to get past just the top layer of dirt.

Next is the day serum.

Now I did tell you I like as few steps as possible, but I do like the idea of a day serum different than a night serum.  This does absorb quickly, so it's not a big deal.  This is the Truth Serum with Vitamin C.

Next I'll show you the night serum.

This is the Overnight Resurfacer night serum.  I use one pump of each of these serums.

The final step is the moisturizer, which is used day and night.  Yes I prefer that to a separate day and night cream.  Simple is what I like.

This is the Sheer Transformation moisturizer.  Again this is for All skin types, which I like.  I can never figure out what my skin is doing from day to day, so I prefer one that's for all types.

What I know after this five days of use, is my skin feels absolutely clean and soft.  However, when I get up in the morning, it feels soft, yet I see the dryness around my eyes and tops of my cheekbones.

I did not get that with M2.  But I did get a new Deep Pore head for my Clarisonic and cleaned the hell out of my face, so that may be a contributing factor. I do know it takes a while for skin to get used to a new routine etc, so I've told myself I will give it a month.

Then I will decide if I keep this, or go back to my M2.  It's not a good idea to keep switching it up!  I do know that if I do reorder, I will add some eye cream and make myself use it.

**EDIT** I am LOVING this brand.  My skin is even better than it has been with my previous M2. I have been using this now for two weeks or so and I think this is the one for me!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

M2 Skincare

Today's post we will be delving into the skincare world.  Trust that I have tried everything from very high end (La Mer) to the cheapest drugstore brands.  I have always had such awful acne.  In my teens, it was awful.  I had hoped that when I grew up, the acne would stop.

It didn't.  It just changed and got not necessarily worse, but bigger and more ugly.  What I now get is called cystic acne.  The ones that come up from deep within, making these huge bumps that take forever to go away. I have many scars from them and they are painful as well.

I am always looking for the next skin care that is going to make everything all better.  This past January, I discovered a website called Skin Better sponsored by Allure magazine. Now, if you remember, before I started getting NexGen nails, I was going to the facialist and using SkinCeuticals. It was a nice brand, but expensive.

I still got those cystic mountains on my face.  So I explored this website.  You take a picture and upload it to their app and it tells you about your skin.  At that time, it didn't recognize acne, but I did it anyway.

It prompted me to try a brand called M2.  Now the price points on this skincare line is amazing.  Very affordable.  I was intrigued and bought up the set.

This is the cleanser, the serum, moisturizer and eye cream.  The cleanser is $23, the moisturizer is like $35.  So truly affordable in my opinion.

This brand M2 stands for the two natural acids in it.  Malic and Mandelic that are antibacterial as well as exfoliating.  You start with the cleansing.

I apologize for the wonky photos, I'm still trying to figure this all out. Now the cleanser is a gel like liquid and you wash, but before you rinse, you leave it on for 30 seconds.  Gives the acids a chance to do their thing. When I'm wearing makeup, I wash once, rinse then wash again and the second time count the 30 seconds.

Next comes the serum.

This is the MaMa serum.  Only used at night.  One thing I forgot to mention? I HATE many steps in my skin care routine.  I won't do it.  I'm way too lazy.  I want wash, maybe serum then moisturize. That's it. That's why I liked this routine.  In the AM, you just wash and moisturize.  At night, you add this serum before the moisturizing.

Here is the moisturizer.  I love this stuff.  This is about my fourth or fifth jar since January.  It's amazing stuff.

Lastly the eye cream, which if I'm telling you the truth, I don't use.  Again, I'm too lazy and it's too many steps.

The verdict on this set? My skin is amazing.  I still get one or two of those cystic things, but not nearly as many as I was.  So while it's working, it's not totally preventing the acne.

Oh but here's the secret I've learned in all my years of acne and trying out skin care.  You ready?

It doesn't really matter what brand you use, this brand M2 is actually for all skin types.  It's more the routine of doing it twice a day every day.  Before, I never washed my face in the morning, only at night to wash off makeup.  I never washed my face on the weekends, but for Sunday.  Oh and you never sleep on the same pillow case side.  Always sleep on a clean pillow case.  Trust me it helps.

When I started this brand this past January, I made a promise to wash twice a day and do this routine twice a day.  It's been six months and my skin has never looked better.  I've also trained myself with the repetition, that the twice a day thing is now just like brushing your teeth.  Just something you do.

So if you already have a skin care line you love, make sure you are faithful in the twice a day routine and you'll see a difference.  However, give that website a try-you just may find another brand for you, like I did.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

My Makeup Stash Part Two

This post picks up where we left off last post.  Today I will be showing you the right side drawers.

Here is where it is all stored, in case you forgot.

Now this drawer is a work in progress.  It's the top middle one.  I cleared out all the crap I had in here.  This is the finishing drawer.  The eyebrow stuff, mascara, eyelash curlers and the lipstick I've been wearing lately.  I need more mascara.  Anyone out there like a particular brand? You hear so much about the Dior one.  Is it worth the $$?

This is the start of my lipstick area.  I am a huge sucker for MAC lipstick.  Yeah. I just bought one the other day. Called Kinda Sexy. It's matte.  I hate matte nail polish, but love it in a lipstick. I'm trying to get that feeling back inside myself!

You can see I have smaller half bins here.  The top left are some of my glosses.  However, they are SO old, that they most likely need thrown out.  I'm talking from 2004 ish? The lipsticks are mostly fine, but the glosses I'm afraid are not.

This is my lip liner bin. You have to have to have to start with lip liner people! It's worth the time! We will talk later about this! I'm excited!

More lip glosses.  Yeah I have a problem.

This is a bin of stuff I don't use, like to sell etc.  I've already posted the front bin stuff for sale. They are eyeshadows and blushes.

And this is my last bin.  These are lipstick palettes.  I always wanted to love them, but I'm just not someone who puts on lipstick with a tiny brush.  So here they sit.

I hope you have enjoyed the look into my makeup stash.  I hope you are liking the new topics here.

Next two posts, we will discuss skin care.  So important to have good skin before you add makeup to the mix.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

My Makeup Stash Part One

There are so many things to show you in my makeup stash that I had to break this into two posts. This is mostly all stuff I bought before I got into nail polish.  I have added a few things lately and when I get into the individual posts on makeup looks etc, I will show you those at that time.

This post is strictly a down and dirty look into my other obsession.  You will also note, that just like nail polish, the makeup I buy is high end. Apparently, I have an adversity to drugstore brands. HAHA! You will see that I have in fact bought a couple of drugstore things lately though.

Since this is such a heavy photo post, I'm just going to get started.

This is where I store all my makeup.  This was my parents' and now it's my makeup table.  The drawers are deep and can hold a ton.  It looks small, but wait and see just how much I can stuff into them.

We will start with the left side and work from there.

See the tupperware type of bins I use are stackable.  I can get two-three bins deep in these desk drawers. These are some random eyeshadow palettes.  I actually went through all these bins and straightened them up for this post and my return to using makeup.

This is a butt ton of Bare Minerals eyeshadows.  Yeah I used to be so addicted to that brand. Know this is at least three layers deep of these little pots. Oh and PS at one time, I gave a brown lunch bag full to my hairdresser.

These are the brushes that I'm using at the time.  It is NOT my complete stash.  Trust I have tons more, just saving for new or when one of these wears out.

These are more compacts/palettes and fluffy brushes.

These are Bare Minerals blushes, mixed with other blushes.  I've yet to find my perfect shade of blush.  It's my current quest. Although I haven't bought any yet.

This is my eyeliner bin.  Pencils and liner pots.

All lot in this bin is new. This is my base bin.  Contouring, foundation, concealer, eyeshadow base etc.  I will go into this bin way more in depth in a future post.

The holy grail drawer.  Nothing but my naked palettes! You bet I needed the lastest Smoky one! These will be explored in a future post as well.

Well that's it for part one.  This is just the LEFT side of my desk.  Stay tuned for the right side next post.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Enchanted Polish House of the Rising Sun, Entwined

This is going to come as a huge shock to you my people.  I have not painted my nails in a week. That's right.  I said one full week has gone by and I have not painted my nails.  My norm is to have done it three times.

I haven't quite figured out what the issue is.  I don't know if I'm just in a polish funk, or if I've finally come to the end of my polish obsession.  Before nail polish, I was all about makeup.  I told you I've been watching tons of YouTube makeup videos.  My love for makeup is coming back big time.

I've been contemplating even starting my own channel.  However, I can't even put my face on this blog-just the side view with professionally done hair and makeup.  I am not quite sure that I'll ever have that kind of balls to show my unmade up nekked face to the world.  It ain't pretty people!

So for now, I'm just going to roll with it.  Show you my makeup stash, my skincare routine and show you swatches and what color combos I wore to work that day. Not really sure yet.  What my friends have told me is they would like to see someone like me pushing fifty showing tips and things I've learned over the years. All the videos on YouTube, while I love them, are all twenty-somethings.

Let me know if you have any ideas, comments or you hate the whole idea.  I will still be me, telling you Stupid stories-at least until she's actually gone that is!

Had the pleasure of a visit from Stupid this past Friday.  She and her ex coworker were whispering. Without turning around, I simply said, "why don't you go outside if you're going to whisper. If I didn't have so much work to do, I'd leave for you.  It's very disconcerting for you two to sit there and whisper behind my back."

Want to know Stupid's reply? "Well we didn't want to interrupt your work."

Bullsh*t.  I am calling bullsh*t on that one.  So her last day is this Friday.  She must work her last day.  She's been off using up her time off this past week.  Sadly, I had hopes she would go far away to another planet for a job, but nope.  She has taken a job at the department right next door to my office doing research.  So depending on which cancer she does, I may have to see her and perhaps have contact with her.

Sh*t man.  Why couldn't she just go away?

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Enchanted Polish House of the Rising Sun and Entwined.  You bet I love this yellow holo!

Here it is.

Flash

This is with flash as the sun was not out and I just had to wear this one.  Next I simply used nail vinyls and did a funky french.  Figured my last nail mani should have a funky to it.

Inside Sun

Inside Sun
How freakin gorgeous is this????? OMG I could stare all day.  I doubt I will ever give up nail polish completely.  I could never give up my holos.  I'm just burned out on the nail art and trying to come up with ideas.  Maybe if I take a break or change things up, it'll be better for me.

I hope you guys are ok with this.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

SinfulColors Cherry Blossom, Love Nails, Blue By You, Hot Spot

Today we have yet another post showing you more colors I received from SinfulColors.  I have just about shown you all the ones I got for this round.

I finished reading the 50 Shades new book called Grey.  Don't bother people.  It's a swiftly thrown together version of the first book, but instead of she said, it's he said.  I was unimpressed.  I think the author did herself a disservice by writing it, but I do get that she probably got a bajillion dollars for it.

There are quite a few things I'd do for a bajillion dollars.

My mom keeps telling me I need to watch the movie.  She loaned me her DVD copy.  I just haven't gotten around to it yet.  I'm not a huge movie watcher.  That means total attention and usually when I am "watching" TV, I'm doing several other things at the same time.  Lately, it's been YouTube videos.

I forgot to tell you! The other day I went out to clean up the birdseed shells from under my feeder.  I do it periodically as it does become quite a pile if I don't.  I had my garden gloves on and I was only outside maybe five minutes.  I came back inside doing my piddling when I happened to look at my right forearm.  There was a tick getting ready to burrow his head into my arm!

You bet I freaked the f*ck out, slapping at my arm, totally the wrong thing to do.  I got it off me, the tick fell to my carpet so I grabbed a tissue and flushed him down the toilet.  I did have a tiny hole in my arm and later I got a bruise where he was.  I don't know if that's from him biting me or me slapping at my arm.  I have a feeling it ain't from the slapping.  I will be asking one of the doctors I work with if I need to worry or not.  I don't need Lyme disease!

Just saw a trailer for Magic Mike XXL-I so want to see that movie.  My mom and her friend (who is literally 89) are seeing it Monday.  I'd love to see her friend's expression while watching it.

I know I just told you I'm not a huge movie watcher-but have you seen those men???????

Anyway, here is today's silly bottle shot.

This is Cherry Blossom, Blue By You, Love Nails and Hot Spot.

I started with all Cherry Blossom.

Flash

Are you suffering from whiplash right about now???I went from black polish last post to bubblegum pink! This is sparkly and shimmery and perfect for all you pink lovers out there! Another one that leaves no brush strokes!

Next I added tape and did stripes.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
How pretty are these together? Four SinfulColors polish all in one mani.  The formula on these were good as all the others.  These have pretty shimmer to them as well.  They are available now on the SinfulColors website.

Go check it out!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
