Polish My Life Stripped and Lots of Bettina

Even though this blog auto posts to Facebook, I'm not really a huge Facebooker.  There are those that post every damn second of their day.  Going to the store, going to the mall.  Nope not me, not ever.  I do have a personal Facebook account (I am a real person you know!), but I NEVER go on there.  I had all these plans to simply use it to look at pictures of my nieces and nephew.  That never happened.  I have the privacy set to the highest level, but my name is still searchable.

For some weird reason, I went on there today.  I had seven friend requests.  One was a girl from high school-deleted.  One was my cousin-deleted.  One was a sibling of a guy from high school-deleted. Then there are a couple of others that I'm like-who the f*ck are you? This is why I don't use my real name on the internet.  There are sketchy people from my past party days that I just don't need them finding me.  Sadly, if you Google my name, it tells you everything you need to know to stalk me as you have to use your real name to make up a fake name to use for your blog and social media.

Does that even make sense????

So one of these people that I was like who are you-I just realized who he was.  It was when I was living in St Louis going to nursing school hanging out in coffee shops studying.  This guy at that time, was a crack addict.  I was pretty naive about some things back then and had no idea.  He then stole a butt load of money from the coffee shop he worked at and I hung out at.  I think we may have dated.  He then hung out at my apartment all that weekend.

The following week when I went back to the coffeeshop to hang out, I was accosted by the owner.  I was asked where is this guy? Did you know he stole all this money? Yeah.  It was not cool. I never heard from him again until the joy that is Facebook.

Want to know what I did with the request? DELETED.  I mean really? Does he really think I want to be Facebook friends and pick up where we left off? I'm assuming he can message me an apology if he wanted to without me friending him right?

Anywho, long story short, this is just one freakin example of why I maintain my alias of Fingers.

Let's get to the pretty! Remember a few posts ago with the dot gradient and I told you it gave me a super cool idea? This is it!!!

Here is the silly bottle shot.

This is Bettina 47, Yellow, Go Green, Mystic and Believe with Polish My Life Stripped.

Started with all Stripped.

Just your standard gorgeous white palette.  Next I did a rainbow gradient from the tip up.  I think it came out very cool!

How freakin cool is this?????? I LOVE this!  Now I was way too lazy to do this on my other hand. So I did this-

Flash
Yup, this is my Cinderella hand.  It is not a pretty picture as I had to use my left hand to take this. Made for two colorful hands though!

Was my idea worth doing?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Chaos and Crocodiles Security Breach

Remember when I told you that I had gotten myself early birthday presents? I wanted to show you what they are.  It is also the reason why I didn't do any art today.  One because I was feeling lazy as crap and two because this holo is way too amazing to cover up.

It was 80F here yesterday and still way too early in the season for me to turn on the air conditioner.  I refuse to turn it on in the Spring.  So of course, that meant I sweated all night instead of sleeping.  My poor betta fish's tank was mid 80s and while my book says that's ok, he's used to mid 70s.  I had to clean his tank this morning, so he's back to his regular temperature.  However, it's now mid 50s here and I still have the windows open, so now it's a bit chilly!

I had told you that I had started doing adult coloring books recently.  There was an article in my paper the other day I think was sort of making fun of the fact that adults are now coloring again.  That Google has made us so stupid (their words) that we resort to coloring like we did as children.

WOW.  It is amazing what people will insinuate in their writing.  The fact is, the two bestselling books on Amazon.com at the moment are adult coloring books.  Go ahead Google away!

When I started coloring, I initially got a set of 48 pencils.  There just wasn't enough variety for me.  I decided to go with the monster set of 150 pencils to have all the colors made.  They are amazing pencils.

How awesome is this set? They are Prismacolor pencils and if you're interested, get them from Dick Blick online.  This was the absolute lowest price I could find.

Here is what I've been working on so far.

I am enjoying the hell out of this big time!  I don't care what anyone else thinks about it!

Now let me show you the holo I was wearing at the time.

This beauty is Chaos and Crocodiles Security Breach.  Here it is on my shortened nubs! HEHEH.  I'm actually loving this length much better.  Thanks Diana!

How could I possibly cover this gorgeousness up??? The answer is, I couldn't!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Origami Owl Bracelets

Today I am taking a break from nail polish and showing you my new bracelets.  The ones I had been wearing from Wakami had gotten threadbare and yucky.  I decided I wanted to have more professional looking bracelets, whatever that means.

My friend Shea sells these bracelets.  She has an Instagram account showing off different ideas as well as her own website for selling the different options you can choose from through Origami Owl. They have regular silver bracelets, necklaces, bangles, leather wraps, charms, dangle charms and plates you can do inscriptions on.

I decided on the brown leather wrap bracelet.  I have plenty of regular silver bracelet chains and wanted something different.  After choosing that, you need to pick out which locket type piece you want and then you pick out what charms you want in your locket.

I think pictures always work better than my words.  When I got my package in the mail and opened it, this is what I saw.

This is two small Chinese takeout containers in my box.  I think that's some pretty cool packaging!

Here is a closer look.

Next, I opened up each box and pulled out what I had ordered.

.
The top two are tiny little boxes with a sleeve that keeps it closed.  In the front are my charms and the leather wrap I ordered.  Here is what is in those two boxes.

These are the two pieces that screw together to hold the charms and complete the bracelet.

Here are the charms I ordered.

There are two different green gems, ten tiny crystals, a music note and the word blog.  Here they are in the locket base.

I loved this picture so much, I put it on Instagram! Just the way my camera picked up the sparkles-it's just gorgeous!

Now I will admit I had trouble figuring out how to put this bracelet together.  In all reality I think they should send you some instructions as the first time I did it wrong.

Here are the pieces before I put them together.

Here is a close up of how the pieces go together.

I ended up ordering another one so I could have two!  Here is how the two look when I'm wearing them.

Keep in mind I am right handed and had to take this picture with my left hand holding my expensive camera by the lens-the saying on the second leather wrap says "let it go" something I should probably do more of!

There are tons of different ideas, charms, bracelets, lockets etc from Shea's website.  Please make sure you go and check it out!

Rescue Beauty Lounge Poco a Poco, Polish My Life Stripped

I have been put in a time out.  I am in the corner, facing the wall for I have been a bad girl.  I got greedy and let my nails get way too long and broke two just a couple days after I had gotten them done.  You saw how long they were last post.

Let's just say my nail guru, Diana, has scolded me and told me I don't get to have long nails anymore until I learn how to take care of them.  My free reign is over. She took her clippers and went to town.
I have to say though, I'm kind of liking this length better.  It's easier for me to type at my job and I'm not as paranoid that I will break a nail.  Although I have slammed my nails into a few things, I don't know if they're broken as I need to remove my polish first.  But I think they look nicer this shorter length as well.  My nails tend to curve down the longer they get, makes for a weird wonky mani.

It is full on Spring mode outside my door.  The leaves on the trees are almost full size, the flowers are blooming, my lily of the valley garden is sprouting to life.  I just wish the rose bush mom and I just planted would show some sign of life.  It was one of those bare root ones and so far, it ain't doing nothing.  I sure hope it comes to life soon!

Today's mani gave me a very cool idea for a future mani.  I'm going to be attempting my idea tomorrow, so it should post in about a week or so.  If it's as cool as it is in my head? It's gonna rock your world!

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Rescue Beauty Lounge Poco a Poco and Polish My Life Stripped.

I started with a full mani with Poco.

Please note the shorter nail length.  What do you think? I actually think it looks way better.  I'll need to keep them at this length.  Can you see the shimmer in this?  Gorgeous!

Next I did a classic French, but then did a dot gradient up to the cuticle.  I dig how this came out.

I really like this.  I hope you like it as well.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Enchanted Polish March 2014, Pipedream Polish Light of Day

As I write this, it is nine days until my birthday.  It's on a freakin Sunday this year.  I normally take a day off and never work my birthday, but this year is different so far in a whole lot of ways.  I also normally take myself shopping or do a facial, something just for me, but again, not this year.

My big plans for this year? Perhaps cleaning my fish tank? Yes seriously.  I am just not feeling it this year.  I'm still grieving the loss of my dad big time and later in May, will be going home to finally do the burial.  Where I grew up, the ground is too frozen, so all the burials are put on hold until the ground thaws.

People have said this will be the closure I need. I think it'll just reopen the healing wound and devastate me all over again.

Onto other things.  This mani is a fail in my book, the colors are weird together, but the crazy thing is, the neon polish started melting the nail vinyl I used for the design.  Is that a thing? I've not heard of that before.  Is there something in the neon pigment that is causing this? Or maybe just this brand?

If you have any thoughts, let me know.

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Enchanted Polish March 2014 and Pipedream Polish Light of Day.

I did a full mani with March.  This color is the reason why I was able to give up my precious Poison Apple for the three Mishka EPs.  They were virtually the same color. And yes, that means my original Poison Apple was worth $300 at that time!

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
Please note the length of my nails.  It will be relevant to the next post.  How freakin gorgeous is this holo???? I love this! Next I added the tape and when I tried to remove it, it fell apart.  My lines are not crisp and clean as you all have seen I can do.

Indoor Sun

It's like the zigzags are melting on this green holo.  HEHEHE.  It really was a freaky thing.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Enchanted Polish January 2015, Stamping

I am so glad it's almost time for me to get my nails done.  I have literally cracked two nails this time and had to re-gel them with my set up at home.  I will have to go to three dips this time instead of two.  Luckily, it is on my Cinderella hand and not my photo hand. I just think my nails have gotten thinner from all the filing and gel and that two layers may not be enough for me anymore. I am tough on my nails big time.

I am in hiding from the Man.  And by the man I mean the police.  My car inspection was due in March and it's now mid April.  Whoops!  Get this-I got my car in a January, so my original sticker was January.  The next year, I didn't quite make my inspection that month, so it became February. The next year I didn't quite make it that month, so it became March.  I didn't quite make it this year, so it shall be April.

We will see what happens next year.  But I'm betting based on my past behavior.................

I got my first hummingbird for the season already.  Every April 1st, I put my feeders out for them. So far, I've just seen the one, but don't they travel in packs?

Oh and remember those plants mom and I repotted? I had put them outside for some sun and when I went to bring them in, one cracked and broke spilling dirt and plant all over my back deck.  I was pissed! Plus, I was out of the big pots, so I had to use a small pot until I can get a bigger one to re-repot it once again.

Work is work, but for the new Resident I have to deal with.  They rotate every three months, so I'm stuck with him for a while now.  He's one of those who think they are better than everyone because they are a doctor and you're not.  One of those who think they are so smart, but in reality, not so much.  He's already plucking my nerves and I'm gonna have to straighten his a** out!

Here is today's bottle shot.

This is Enchanted Polish January 2015 and Mundo Pink.

I started with all January 2015.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
This is one gorgeous deep dark purple!  Next I stamped with FUN2 and my Mundo.

I am so NOT a fan of Hello Kitty-but I was lazy and it was there and I know lots of you out there are in love with Hello Kitty.

So this one's for you!

Enchanted Polish Paint It Black and stamping, perhaps a glitter or two?

So I was telling someone on Instagram to stop pointing out all the flaws in her mani.  I told her that I had done a blog post proving that no one will notice if you don't point them out.  She then tells me that she went to my blog, looking for those posts and couldn't find them.

Well I'll tell you why that is, if you're new here.  Back in the day, I spent a lot of time coming up with these random obscure post titles that no one but myself could figure out.  It's most likely why I still only get 200 hits a day.  HAHA!

I told this person I would find her those posts and DM her on Instagram.  Damn if it didn't take me hours to find the damn posts! I actually had to go one by one all the way back to January 2012 to find the first one where I proved this point.  Damn were my nails and manis awful.  Holy crap! No wonder my bounce rate is 80%!!!

Anyone know what a bounce rate is?

So then I go to DM these posts to her and damn if I don't know how to DM!  HAHAH! What the hell is my problem????  I gave up, emailed her the links and haven't heard from her yet.  I do know that if you don't point them out, people never notice.

If you want a laugh, go back to January 2012, the post titled Brown Layering Bonanza and then to July 2012 Phallic Revisited.  I won't torture you with links as I don't really want you to see how awful my pictures and nails were back then!

Today's mani taught me a lesson.  I will tell you what later on.  Here is the silly bottle shot.

This is Elevation Polish Con Tanto AffettoYeti, Enchanted Polish Paint It Black, Colors by Llarowe Aliens and Outlaws and Mundo Pastel Blue.

I started with all Black.

Flash

Flash
Just a great shiny basic black.  Next I stamped with my Mundo and FUN2 plate, then added some glitter.  The lesson I learned was I should have done the glitter first then stamped on it.  The accent finger has the Yeti.  This glitter has baby blue glitters scattered in it and I thought it would go well with the light blue Mundo.

Flash

Flash
This is way cooler in person as you get more of the blue contrast in the stamping and the glitter.  I always forget how my flash freaks with micro glitter.

Ah well. Such is life.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Chaos and Crocodiles Cipher and Stamping

Spring is finally here! I have baby leaves popping out on my trees and my lawn grass is already overgrown and in need of a mow.  I'm having to find someone new as my last lawn guy went AWOL and disconnected all his phone numbers etc.  I've been playing phone tag with one place only asking for $5 more than I was paying.  I just need to get it done.  It looks like crap when it's this long.

Then I see my driveway is already overrun with weeds. I need to spray that and soon! All these fun chores that I didn't have to do when winter was here.  Maybe I shouldn't have wished for Spring?

Last week was hell week for traffic.  Monday, I left work at my usual time 4:30. I see the sign stating accident mile marker 84 two right lanes closed. Well sh*t.  That ruins my ride home.  I thought I'd be smart and take the exit before the accident and get on the rural route that parallels the highway.

Oh yeah.  Everyone else had that very same idea.  So now I'm miles from the rural route going through several light cycles to get to my road.  Took me a long time to get home that day.  I get off work Friday at 2.  Imagine my surprise when I see the sign once again says accident mile marker 84 two right lanes closed.  I think to myself, no freakin way.  That can't be right.  They just didn't update the sign. How is that possible to have an accident days apart different times of day at the same exact place with the same exact lane closure?

I convinced myself it wasn't true until I hit the damn backup of traffic.  This time I told myself I'm just going to ride it out.  I got all the way to the exit before the accident and decided to dodge the accident and take the rural route.  This time because it wasn't rush hour, it wasn't too damn bad.

Let's hope the traffic karma is better this week.

Here is the silly bottle shot for today.

This is Chaos and Crocodiles Cipher and Mundo Blue Grey.

I started with all Cipher.  This is actually more teal IRL.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
This brand continues to impress!  The new pastel set is supposed to be shipped very soon!  I decided to do some simple stamping with my Mundo.  I used plate Bundle Monster BM411.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
This holo is so strong it even glows through the stamping!  How awesome is that?????

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

LSL Spring Fever and Simple Stamping

Wow my mind is a blank.  I've been sitting here staring at this screen for a few minutes now. I actually started this post days ago, got as far as the title and stopped as I had nothing to say!

I have done a tiny bit of decorating on my planner.  I have started following all these accounts on Instagram and these people go to freakin town.  I'm talking tons of stickers, ink stamps, handwriting, washi tape. Some have so much stuff, I can't even see what day it is!

With it just being me, I guess I just don't have that much stuff to write down.  I know I always do laundry on Sundays, I know when I clean my fish tank, I don't need to write that kind of stuff down you know? So what I did was just add a bit of washi tape to each day a the bottom of the space just for something to do.  Now I am a big list maker-what I need to buy now, what I need to buy later, what I need to do around the house, that sort of thing.  But that's a list in the back of my planner that doesn't need decorating.  Although I know damn well, the people in IG would make their list pretty.

What I'm trying to tell you is, I'm not going to be one of those devoted planner decorators.  I'll just watch them from afar.

I do believe I've told you many times that I read a ton of books.  Last night I finished Gone Girl.  I have not seen the movie, nor did I have any idea what the story was.  I will say that it was a pretty good story.  I prefer more death and destruction in my novels, but it was a good story.  What I don't get is why the book Girl on the Train had been number one on the best seller list for a billion weeks. I read that book because it was number one and it sucked a**.  What the hell people? It had to be one of the worst most boring books I've ever read.

Mom and I share back and forth and I refuse to even let her waste her time on this drivel.  I'm glad it's finally no longer number one, beaten by Harlen Coben.  Now there's a good writer!

Anywho, let's do this.  Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Liquid Sky Lacquer Spring Fever and Mundo Military Green.

I started with a full mani of Spring Fever.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
Isn't this gorgeous? I am so in love with this color!  I decided I hadn't stamped in a long time.  So I did some simple stamping using MoYou Suki 9 plate and my Mundo.

I think this came out really cool! I'm happy with my stamping here and need to do more of it!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
