Which sunrise is better?

This will be my last post with ocean pictures in it.  I saved the best for last.  The last morning I was in Myrtle Beach, there was an amazing sunrise.  The best one out of the whole trip.  I took such awesome pictures, that I even impressed myself and plan to blow some of these up to frame them.

First up, you know it, the silly bottle shot.

This is Elemental Styles Copper-nicus, Bettina Yellow, Orange, Flame and Barielle Berry Blue.

I also want to mention that this is my very first attempt at sponging and gradients so go easy on me!  I started with a layer of Yellow, sponged on Orange and Flame and freehanded a seagull with a random black.  Here are those pics.

Should I even point out the flaws in this?  Remember I did an experiment that most people don't see the flaws if you don't point them out.  But I think they are pretty obvious here.  I was impatient and there are bald holes in this!

I then added a layer of Copper-nicus and my funky french in Blue, to symbolize the ocean, and it looks black in these pictures.  Here is the final result.

For my first try, I don't think this came out too bad.  I am not going to go into the Copper-nicus in this post.  You just can't see it well enough-but stay tuned because it is awesome!!!!

Here is what I was trying to recreate.

This last picture is my favorite of all.  I am seriously proud of how cool this picture came out.  I'm going to blow this one up to 11x14 and frame it.

So this concludes my trip to the beach.  I hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have.  I will be going back next February-so more pictures then!

I'm not even going to ask which sunrise is better-because you can't beat nature!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

The one with the birds

No this title has nothing to do with my mani for today.  I am writing this on my last day at the beach, but when you read this, I will already be home missing the sound of the waves.  The craziest thing happened when I went down to pick up some shells. Suddenly I was surrounded by seagulls. I think they think I had food for them.  Here is a pic of them.

Isn't that crazy?  I just stood there and they just sat there staring at me!

For my last beach mani, I decided to do a simple but oh so cool layering experiment.  I recently did a swap with Gypsy from Gypsy's Glitters. If you haven't seen her stuff-you really need to.  She does some cool designs.

First up, as always, the silly bottle shot.

Oh yeah, that's my polish chillin' in the sand, catching some rays!  This is Pam's Girly Bits Cosmic Ocean (cause I'm at the ocean!) and NYX #129.  I can't read what the color name is if there even is one on the bottle.  It's so dark and tiny so if you know the name, please let me know!

I started with two layers of the NYX.  This is a dark purple shimmer.  This is PRE cleanup-I knew I was layering more, and I'm on vacation, so I was lazy!

First let me say my camera is showing this as purple!! I am still excited about that. Second is this not a freakin cool purple?  I have never used NYX polish before and I have to say that it is really nice.  Perfect consistency easy placement-I usually need more cleanup than you see here with most polish.  So I was pleased with this brand.

Next, I did a layer of Cosmic Ocean.

Isn't it so cool what this top coat does to the purple?  I couldn't capture the teal and blue colors it also changes to in certain light.  But trust me, it's there.  I then did another layer of Cosmic Ocean and topped it off with my funky french using the NYX purple I started with.  So you can see just how crazy different just a top coat changes it. I wanted something simple but it's oh so very cool.  Here are your shots.

How cool is this?  Two polish that makes such a simple yet awesome mani!  I am in love with Girly Bits polish!  Plus I am loving this NYX brand.  Gypsy sent me three others and I hope they are just as good.

I leave you with a few last pics of the ocean.

I may have more beach pictures to come.  I just can't get enough!

I hope you have liked this mani as much as I have.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Holo happiness at the beach

Once again, I bring you tidings from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  Oh how I love it here!  Too bad, it's almost over.  I'm getting sad just thinking about that.

Today's mani is another one of my subtle ones.  Remember I told you that I did not make good polish choices when I was packing so I have had to make do!  I have also been waiting for the sun before I wore the polish I am featuring today.

Here is your required silly bottle shot.

My mom actually found this shell with the critter still in it.  I will spare you the details of how she got the critter out!  Pretty cool shell though eh?  It's going home with me!

This is A England Dragon and Princess Sabra from Adina's new collection.  I am a total A England fanatic.  I just love what she creates.  I alternated the Sabra with the Dragon because I couldn't decide which one I liked better!  Here are your shots.  Once again, I have cropped out the scary cuticle for your viewing pleasure.

Before we get to the next phase, here are some more sunrise shots for you.

Isn't is just breathtaking?  I sure think so! Now back to the mani.

Dragon is the green holo and Sabra is a tan holo.  I am swooning over these!  I then took my plate DRK-A and stamped with the opposite color.  I added some brown dots and topped it off with my funky french.  Here are the results.

Isn't this awesome?  I know it's a subtle design, but I just love how it glows.  These two colors go so great together, don't you think?

I leave you with another beach shot.

I hope you are enjoying being at the beach with me.  I really love it here.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Hurried beach mani

Every February, I meet my parents in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a few days.  I am there as we speak!  Normally, when I know I'm gonna be on vacation, I set up a bunch of posts so I don't have to stress about my blog.  Well this time I didn't.  Today's mani is not my best work, nor are the pictures in my normal poses.  My cuticles on my pointer finger are scary and I didn't want to cause you all nightmares so I cropped them out.

I was in a total hurry when I did these-we were going outlet shopping (hello new purse!). I almost didn't even post these.  I was not thinking clearly when I picked out the colors of polish I brought with me either! I'm embarrassed by them!  So to soothe your eyes, I have included several sunrise beach shots that are very cool.

First up, the silly seashell filled bottle shot.

I just love picking shells up from the sand.  My house is filled with them.  I have been coming here since I was a little kid.  That's a lot of shells!

Here we have Essie Armed and Ready and OPI Wooden Shoe Like to Know.  I started with the Essie.  This is a cool olive khaki with gold shimmer.  It's totally my kind of color. Here are your shots.

This really is a cool color!  I just love it.  Before we continue, here are some sunrise shots of the ocean.

I just love the way the sun glows through the clouds.  Maybe before I leave, I will get a sunrise without the clouds!

Back to the mani.  I then took Sally Hansen Whirlwind White and plate DRK-A and stamped kitty paw prints.  Since I am away from home, I miss my babies!  I then added some dots and topped it off with my funky french with the OPI.  Here are the results.

Again, I apologize for the quality of these pictures, I really didn't want to show my angry cuticle on my pointer finger.  While I like these two colors together, I am just not happy with the way this mani came out.  It's a big fail in my book!

Let's instead go back to the ocean sunrise shall we?

Oh how I just love being at the ocean.  I wish I could live in a house on the beach. Wouldn't that just be amazing?  I sure think so!  Plus, the sound of the ocean waves are soothing and overall being here just makes me happy!

On a side note, I have a nice purse I want to sell.  It's a B Makowsky bag and I'll put some pictures on my blog sale page.  It's in almost new condition since I have only used it about once a month. If you are interested, check out my blog sale page.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
