I got a comment the other day from a reader asking about my swatching for SinfulColors.  I have always told you guys that I am a drugstore snob.  This person was asking if I still was.  My answer is yes I still am totally a drugstore snob.  There is a difference between what I actually go out and buy for myself and being sent free colors to show off for those out there who do buy drugstore brands.

I'm even showing you guys glitter! I mean I'm taking one for the team every time I put a glitter on for you.  Do I like the SinfulColors formula and colors that I've reviewed so far? Hell yeah.  I've never bought one before, except for the one called Cinderella that was all the rage a few years ago.  I sent that to the UK before they banned mailing nail polish.  For $2 a bottle, this SinfulColors formula, brush and variety is awesome for those out there who don't want to spend the $20 a bottle on the indie polish I prefer.  Will I go out and start hoarding this brand? Nope.  I will still only buy indies for myself.  But you bet I'm going to swatch for companies that ask me to.

Maybe someday, the indies will figure out where I am in the world and ask me to be their swatcher! Wouldn't that just be the be all end all?

I did something the other day that I haven't done since I was 19-20.  I rode on the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle.  Damn was it fun! I haven't had that much fun in a long time.  I had my miniskirt on, tucked up under my a** so I wouldn't be showing off my stuff to the highway.  I had on one of those sort of half helmets that the Hell's Angels wear.  AC/DC was on the radio and yeah I was tapping my fingers, singing along and just enjoying the hell out of it.  The guy had two full tattoo sleeves and looks like a bad a** but is in fact a very nice guy.

We were on some country road where the corn was growing and the sun was shining and yeah I had a damn good time.  I had a smile on my face the whole next day at work.  I sure hope I get the chance to do that again. Back when I was 19, I had on a long maxi skirt and would just pull it up to ride on a motorcycle.  My friend would pick me up to take me to work.

I just love being on the back of a motorcycle.

Now, I couldn't find the holo color I wanted for my base.  So I used my Bettina and added holo top coat.  I love doing that!

My flowers still need help, but I'm getting better at them I think.  I realized after I did this, that this is similar to the purple mani I did a few posts ago.  Oh well, it's still cool!

CbL When Doves Cry, Chaos and Crocodiles Black Ops

So remember when I told you about that really awesome date I had? And that he would become fodder for this blog if he messed with me? Well let's just say, that since he really isn't worth my time or the space on this blog, that I shall be directing him, if he happens to check, to a very early post in my blogging career that was actually aimed at another similar situation.

So please if you're checking this, click here for your message.

Now back to what I wanted to talk about.  It seems the sh*t has really hit the fan at work.  They finally had the secret meeting and my coworkers were told their jobs as they know them are over. Now they have no idea that I'm well aware of what's going on.  Part of me feels very guilty over this. They assumed that it was just bad timing that I had already left work when they had the meeting.

Sh*t.

They want to meet with each one of us individually.  Stupid had her meeting first and was told all sorts of things that were not mentioned at that meeting.  Stuff that now has me freaking out a little even though I'm told not to.

Like, my office is going away, that I won't have a desk, that I won't be doing my Doctor conferences. These are things I like about my job.  I like that I have a desk so I at least know I have a little corner to myself.  I have a red cart that has all my work on it.  Are they going to take away my cart? What about my locked cabinet where I keep my files since 2009 and my purse?

They aren't talking right now.  These things have not been worked out.  I have to say, I really don't want to do something different.  I sort of feel like I'm being punished along with them, when I'm constantly told how awesome I am.

I'm just not good with change people.  I have a routine, I know what to do when and what's due when etc.  Yes I've told the doctor I work with all this.  My coworkers are all talking about finding other jobs.  I just can't do that right now. I just hope it all works out ok.

Enchanted Polish Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Chaos and Crocodiles Reconnaissance and Wishing Star Sky

Today I shall be bashing Facebook.  If you live your life by the posts in FB, you may want to look away.  Oh and there will be lots of swearing.

We all know that I have been using the alias Fingers now for the past four years.  I have my regular 200 readers so I'm not garnering a huge pocket of the polish world.  I fly just under the radar and don't make waves except for my domain here, which in fact, I pay my $10 a year to say whatever the f*ck I want.

My posts have auto populated to Facebook and Twitter since I started.  I honestly stayed away from getting involved so to speak with posting and groups until the last year or two.  All my social media pertaining to this blog all have the same name so people can easily find me.  You don't know my real name, but if you know my blog's name, you can find me on all the platforms.

I even started my own Facebook group and while I am in other groups, I don't comment.

So imagine my shock when I get a message saying that my name has come under suspicion as being fake.  First let's state the obvious, no sh*t sherlock.  Second, let's try to figure out how after four years, I am now being caught? Yes I do believe someone out there turned me in.  I don't believe this is random and I'm pissed.  There is a reason I use an alias, besides easy recognition on all the social media, there are shady people from my past that I would rather them not find me.

Facebook's reasoning? They want the community to be a safe place where you know who you are talking to. F*ck that sh*t.  People know me as Fingers and know damn well who they are talking to.

I know damn well there are people out there using fake names.

In order to use Facebook, I was forced to change to my real name.  Now I have two accounts in my real name. Let's see how long it takes for me to get busted for that! They will not let me change my name again for sixty days.  So I have my group keeping track of the days until I can change back to a pseudonym.  Fingers something.  I haven't decided yet.  My last name is very unique so if I use that, I can still be found.

So now people who get messages from me don't know who I am.  So how is that helping Facebook you f*cking piece of sh*t?  Worst case scenario, I may just quit Facebook all together.

NCLA III, Chaos and Crocodiles Tropical Candy Flowers, CbL Lucy I'm Home

Oh people.  Today's mani is so freakin cool that I don't ever want to take it off!

The crazy thing is, it started out as something totally different.  I had finally ordered some of the nail vinyls out there.  I was going to do this crazy gradient thing, but the damn vinyl I was using did not cooperate.  I had no idea that I was going to have to pick out all the teeny tiny pieces in order to use the pattern.  I had little triangles all over me and my nails.

It wouldn't lay flat on my nail, then when I went to take it off, it was not a crisp clean transfer.  For the first time, a mistake turned into something fabulous.

A bit about work. I heard a rumor having to do with my job.  Now I'm the type to freak out, think the worst.  Cry, freak out.  Yeah.

I got an email from one of the doctors I work with.  He tries to keep me calm.  Tells me not to put stuff in writing as it's always there.  I try hard to follow that rule. Usually, I pop off some words spewing and totally regret it later.  I'm trying to do better.  So his emails to me are always cryptic so others won't know WTF.

This time it was "don't follow the lemmings who are jeopardizing their job."  Seems Stupid took it upon herself to tell the boss how we all are job hunting and then going to group quit from burn out.

Maybe Stupid is job hunting, but hell if she will EVER talk for me.  Hence the lemmings in that email to me.  I sure hope they had the meeting that's been coming for awhile after I left.  I just don't need to be there.

My new rule is to not get involved.  Gonna keep my head down, do my job, go home.  I'm damn good at what I do and I don't need them dragging me down.

Look closely, this has a gorgeous shimmer in it.  Again, the plan was to do the two middle nails with an intricate triangle pattern gradient.  Told you what happened to that.  Instead I did a tape mani color block, then added flowers.  I covered the ruined middle nail with CC.

OMG!!!! I so hope you guys love this as much as I do.  Even my flowers came out pretty cool.  The colors are perfect together and the hint of green is just so right on.

Enchanted Polish May 2015

Am facing another four posts in a row.  Yes I do this to myself, but then I don't have to worry about them during the week.  Oh and for those who care, I was unable to save the broken nail.  So I now have a super nub that Diana will have to glue a tip on.  Luckily, it's not my photo hand.

Went into Target the other day and all over the card section was plastered, Father's Day is coming. Yeah, not for me and I don't even want to think about it.  It's getting close to six months since my dad died and it still seems like yesterday.

I think it's going to always feel like yesterday to me.

There was something else that caught my eye though.  Orly in Target! WTF people??? Something called Orly Color Amp'd. The world's first no smudge polish.

Hmmmmmm.

Sounds like a gimmick to me.  Oh and it's $10 for a polish and you need the $10 special topcoat as well. I didn't actually look at the mls, but it seemed like a very small bottle.

Let me Google, be right back..........OK I'm back.  I can't find the size, but the two blogs I looked at didn't bother to ding their nail and see if it bounced back.  Dude that's the whole purpose of this polish and you don't bother to see if what they say is true?

The one thing that is annoying the bloggers is that the color of the bottle is NOT the color IN the bottle.  So I had no idea that purple one is actually a holo.  I might have actually bought and tried that one.

Has anyone out there tried it and dinged it and the dent magically fixed itself?

How beautiful is this? I'd like more holo, but overall, it's a stunner for sure!  Next, I took inspiration from KolorMeKarma on Instagram and holy sh*t did my account blowup from people liking what I did.  I used my Mundo for the design.

Chaos and Crocodiles Operation Vegas

You are going to love this holo!  I went back to the dark and vampy I was going to do before I chose the green one instead.

Wanted to update you on my NexGen nails.  I am still going every two weeks to get fresh nails. There is nothing like a fresh set of nails.  My nail guru Diana, asked me if I ever thought of not polishing my nails and just leaving them naked.  I looked at her and said, "why would I do that?" With a smile on my face.  She was serious.  I again said, now why would I do that?  I just know all 200 of my readers would be devastated if I didn't have new manis for you to see.  But I also told her that if I were to ever stop polishing, I would do the classic pink and white, instead of the sheer pink I do now.

My NexGen post is still my top post of all time.  I actually got a comment from someone asking if NexGen was thicker than Gelish.  I had to google Gelish and saw that that is only gel polish, not a gel dip technique.  When I answered her comment, I explained the difference.  NexGen is a brand of gel dip powder that is activated with a liquid, sort of along the lines of acrylics, but not nearly as thick and not as bad for your nails.  I told her if you have someone who knows what they're doing, it's really no thicker than several coats of nail polish.

Here is my latest set of nails.  Now remember, these are my nails, they just have a protective layer of gel on top so they don't peel and break.

You can see my real nails through the sheer pink color of the gel powder I choose to use so it doesn't interfere with my polish color.  But you can choose any color so you wouldn't even have to polish your nails.  Diana actually had to cut down length, as I was getting into talon land!  HAHAH!  I have now had these for six months.  I will never go back.

This is Chaos and Crocodiles Operation Vegas.  This was actually not in the Secret Agent set, but was a limited edition released with the set.

I did a full mani with Vegas, the stupid sun decided to hide for this part.  I had to resort to flash.

This is one freakin gorgeous deep dark vampy holo.  It may just be my favorite one so far.  It leans more purple IRL and I prefer a red leaner, but damn will you look at this?????

Again, you have a one coater, although I always do two, and an amazingly strong linear holo presence in this as well.

Next, I took inspiration from an Instagram account called m_a_tom and added my own holo twist to it. Oh and the sun came out for this part!

Isn't it gorgeous? Simple, but oh so pretty and doesn't take away from the holo happiness.  I used my Mundo White and Pipedream Polish Light of Day for the flowers.

I cannot get enough of this brand.  This is the fourth one of the eleven I got.  Stay tuned for more!

Bettina Yellow, Go Green, Cobalt and Believe

Can you tell it's a Bettina day?  I haven't played with my beloved Bettina in a long time.

So I told you guys a few posts ago that I was going to try the dry watermarbling thing on plastic wrap.  Guess what? I don't have any plastic wrap.  Whoops.  I do have plastic ziploc baggies so I pulled out one of those and tried to follow the video and it was a huge fail.  The colors wouldn't marble together even when I globbed it on the zippie bag.  I tried it a couple of times.

What I decided to do instead was to make a bunch of polish decals and place them randomly on my nails.  Now that was an interesting thing.  I'm definitely going to have to try that again.

Just got the message that my Chaos holos are delayed.  Gee ya think? It had better be here on Monday or I'm gonna call and yell at someone.

Since I have nothing to talk about, let's get to it.

This is Bettina Yellow, Believe, Cobalt and Go Green.

I started with all Yellow.  I needed some sunshine as it was freezing rain and snow the day I did this.

Such a gorgeous yellow!  Now before I polished with this, I took the other three colors and painted squares of each on the outside of my ziploc baggie.  I need to buy plastic wrap! I topped that off with topcoat and left it to dry while I did the yellow.

After an hour, I took those squares and peeled them off the baggie and cut random shapes out of it. Sorry I forgot to take pictures! Then I placed them randomly on my nails.  I then added a thick layer of topcoat.  It's not pretty close up-I think I made the decals too thick, but from a distance it's pretty cool!

Definitely need some more practice with this technique, but it came out pretty cool!  Gives me ideas for other things.

Still can't figure out why I couldn't dry watermarble.  Dammit.

EP Valentine, Paint It Black, OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls

I do believe I fixed my washing machine.  Those that actually read what I write, will know that my one hour wash took over two hours last week and I had to force a drain and spin.  I figured like all computers, it needed a reboot.  So I unplugged it.  Then I turned it on and unplugged it.  Guess what? My wash cycle today was right on the money at one hour like it's supposed to be.  Hey now! Ain't I the sh*t?  Did the same thing with my dryer just for sh*ts and grins to see if it made a difference.

I'm just happy I don't have to call in the repair guy.

Am still doing my Plated service.  I had Ricotta Corn Empanadas yesterday and today I will be making wild mushroom papardelle with mascarpone cheese.  Then during the week, I have Quinoa Stir fry to make as well as coconut chai rice pudding.  I've never been a fan of coconut, but I thought I'd try this out.  Still deciding on next week, the selections that I'm looking at are Cheesy Quinoa Casserole and a Sweet Potato lasagna with turkey sausage.  I'm totally in love with quinoa now.  Oh but the week after I'm very excited about.  Beef Gyritos and Lamb Kofta.  I've noticed most all I've had so far are vegetarian in nature, I'd so be a veg chick but I can't go without bacon.  Just can't do it.

My poor baby Sam was throwing up this morning.  For a 26 pound bundle of love, he sure doesn't poop very much.  Twice a day he does his thing, but I think he's constipated.  I tried brushing him this morning and washing his backside, which normally stimulates him to go, but I made the mistake  long ago of giving him treats after I do that.  Now, he won't let me clean or brush him for very long before he's up walking to where I keep his treats.  I even tried doing it right after breakfast this morning and nope.  So naturally, I don't get enough time to get him revved up to hit the litter box anymore.

How's that for a topic of conversation?? HAHAHA!

Barielle Champagne Bubbles, Heaven Sent, Under the Sea

What the hell is going on here? I started my damn laundry at 0600 like I always do on Sundays and it's now 0800 and the damn machine still says it has 38 minutes left to go! The program was for 67 minutes ad I'm now up to 120!  It's not even a big load, it's the same size I always do.  I may need to call Sears and ask them what the f*ck.  I still have a whole other load to go.

I think I've lost my mani mojo for the moment.  Today's mani is such a huge fail and my previous other ones aren't that great either.  It seems I've just lost the motivation to do anything interesting or the least bit difficult or time consuming.  I know it has to do with my dad being gone.  I hope you guys understand this and not stop reading my blog.

The crazy thing I added on my sidebar is the popular posts section.  It's supposed to show the most popular posts of that week.  I looked this morning and one of them is this crazy awful one I did back in 2011 when I first started out.  Man are my pictures hideous and my nails are awful and wonky. Yikes! How is that even one of the popular posts this week?

For a good laugh, go back to the beginning of my blog and look at some of those pictures.  I dare ya!

I just demanded that my washer immediately drain and spin.  It seems like it's perpetually stuck on the rinse cycle.  I'm really going to need to pay attention to that as I may need the maintenance guy to come out and have a look see.

I think I figured out the issue.  I think it was somehow uneven in the load weight and every time it tried to spin, instead of alerting me, it would add more water trying to fix the unevenness.  So I opened it up, yelling at the machine mind you, and moved the stuff around and now it seems to be spinning as planned.  Cross your fingers.

Kind of a weird peachy brown and it was very sheer.  I needed two heavy coats.  Next I totally ruined this with a bad tape job and a bad freehand job.  I am not happy with this at all.
