Enchanted Polish Britney Spearmint and April 2014

So remember how I bought a beautiful betta, then bought him a bigger, fancier house? Well apparently, these fish are much more work than I first expected.  I thought that having a filtration system and a 3.5 gallon tank, I wouldn't have to do water changes but every month.  Wrong.  I thought I was feeding the right amount of 2 pellets twice a day. Wrong.  I'm starving the damn thing.  Also because of these two things and perhaps my plastic plants, my betta's pretty tail is now a mangled mess.

I did a bunch of research online yesterday and it seems my fish is possibly eating his tail due to the lack of food and clean water.  It wasn't too bad the other day when I first noticed it. I immediately did a 100% water change.  I turned off the filter and took out the plants.  I fed him 4 pellets and fish treats.  The next day, with the filter off, he did make me bubbles, which he hasn't done and I think the filter is keeping the bubbles from sticking.  Just now I realized that now his gorgeous flowing tail has a split down the middle and his top fin, which he can't possibly reach to eat is all torn up.

I must be the worst betta mom ever.  I took a gorgeous fish and made him all sorts of ragged. I took out the plastic plants, ordered some silk ones, I ordered a floaty leaf thing and a floaty mirror thing for interaction stuff.  I feel so bad.  I hope it isn't hurting him.  I don't think his tail is getting caught in the filter, I think it's the plants.  The upside is that the tail will grow back, just may not be so pretty.

I take Checkers back to the vet in about an hour so they can check her bladder and make sure the stone is going away.  Cross your fingers as I need my vacation to go as planned.

Today's mani was all my idea.  Just saying.  Here is your silly bottle shot.

Now this first holo is a gorgeous Forest Green made just for me by Cathy at More Nail Polish.  She called it "He Said What?" based on my blog stories of my online dating saga.  No this isn't in stores, it's only at my house.  Next is Enchanted Polish Britney Spearmint and April 2014 and Elevation Polish Antelao.

I started with the EPs.

How gorgeous are these????  Next I took paint and the other two polish named above and did this.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
I so need to wear this Antelao and this made for me Green holo all by themselves. I am betting they will be amazing.

Alright, I have to go to the vet now. Cross your fingers Checkers is ok.

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?

Enchanted Polish Afternoon Delight and December 2013

If you're an EP fan, you will know what these two colors are and if you read this blog with any regularity, you will also know these are in my favorite color group.  BROWN.  It's been so long and I needed a brown fix.

Have you all seen the new Nail It magazine that shows regular bloggers in their pages? I have a subscription and I always love to see who I 'know' in the blogger section.  Well, their next theme is striping tape.  Now I think I sort of rock the tape at times, so I entered 12 of my tape manis to see if I can get published in their magazine.  I don't think they let you know ahead of time, but I don't know for sure.  What I do know is it would be very cool to see my nails in a magazine!  I would frame that sucker for all posterity.

It doesn't appear until the January issue, so it's a few months away before I even know if I'm lucky enough. I'm not sure if I'm good enough, but it can't hurt to try.  I may keep on trying until they know my name! HAHA!  Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Another good thing happened lately for me.  I was contacted by Barielle and asked to be one of their official bloggers.  How cool is that?  I've never really been a blogger who does swatches, nor asked companies to send me free stuff.  But the way the email was worded was so nice, I thought why not?  So they are sending me a bunch of stuff to review and then as their new collections come out, I will be reviewing them for you.

Now I know Barielle isn't one of the bigger known companies, but I think I can do their products some decent justice.  I'm looking forward to trying their nail care stuff.  It'll appear after I get back from vacation.

Now onto what I think is another winner of a mani.  Although, once again, not my idea.  I swear the next one I do will be solely from my head.  This one is more a total reproduction, as I used the same color scheme.

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Zoya Livingston, Enchanted Polish Afternoon Delight and December 2013.

I started with the two EPs.

So gorgeous!  Next I used the mani by Lynieczka and did this.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
I am pretty damn proud of how this one came out.  If you looked up Lynieczka's, you would see it's pretty damn similar!  WOOHOO!  I'm a getting good at the flowers!

Are you excited about both my good news stories?

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?

OPI You're Such A Budapest and More Flowers

As I sit here writing this, I am in the throes of my third day with a bad migraine.  It seems this one likes me so much that it doesn't want to leave me alone. I've had to leave work the past two Thursdays because I was in too much pain to do my job.  I inherited them from my mom, who used to have horrible ones as well. Apparently, as she got older, they went away.  As if she outgrew them or something.  So maybe one day, I will be free of them.  If you've never had one, you're lucky, but also, you've no idea just how bad it hurts.  I hate how people say, oh yeah, I've got a headache too.  No people, this is NOT just a headache.  There's nausea and sensitivity to light, sound, smells, it hurts to see.  It hurts to move your head.  There is so much more to it than just a headache.

I do take medicine at night that supposedly keeps them away, but lately it hasn't been helping at all.  I am going to start keeping a log of when and how long as I may need to see my MD to do something different.  I am allowed to increase my nightly medicine, but when I have in the past, I would wake up all sorts of groggy and drunk.  That's no way to start the day.  I am loathe to spend my days like that, but if this keeps up, I won't have a choice.

Maybe my vacation in exactly one week from today (from the day I'm writing not posting), will help.  I've told you all how stressed I've been at work.  I hinted at the latest, where the one nurse is on vacation and the other who does nothing now actually has to do something?  Yeah. She spent yesterday complaining of how much work she's expected to do.  A third coworker kept passing me notes, like we are in grade school about it, plus pulling me out of the office into the hall to b*tch about her to me.

I don't want to hear it! I don't want your stupid notes, and you complain that you have too much work to do? Then why are you wasting MY time b*tching about another, when you could be doing your own work. I almost said that to her yesterday.  I don't care what the others do, it has nothing to do with me and my clinics.  I'm there to do my thing and go home.

Hurry up vacation!!!!!!

Now, last post I was all triumphant and proud of my flowers.  Today, not so much.  It's not a total fail, but more a needs work type thing.  We can't all be perfect on our first try now can we????

Here is the silly bottle shot.

This is OPI You're Such A Budapest and Bettina Go Green.

I started with a full mani of Pest.  Can you believe that??????

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
Look, it even shows it as purple!  WOOHOO!

Now I was inspired by another Instagrammer who does amazing florals. Her account is Lynieczka.  You should really go check out her amazing flowers.  I have a couple of others of hers I plan on trying this weekend.

I used mostly acrylic paint and the Bettina.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
This OPI is NOT blue as I showed you above! Damn camera!  Now from a distance, this doesn't look too bad, but it does need some work.  I can see where I can improve on this one!

How has your week been?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

My Greatest Mani Ever!

Now how's that for a title?  Yes, I am a bit full of myself today because I really am pretty proud of how this mani turned out.  I hope I can continue to top it-but it may be a challenge!

First up, work gripes.  You know that saying, "You can't fix stupid?"  Well, I love that saying, I live it.  My only prejudice in life are stupid people.  And I don't mean intelligence, I mean ignorance.

So one of my co workers is an idiot.  There I've said it.  She's been there almost 3 years now, and this past week, the person who does all the work is on vacation.  So this idiot is left to fend for herself.  I was at my desk just shaking my head at the asinine things she was asking.  After 3 years, she should know these basic things that she was asking about.  I mean I wish I could get paid to sit there, do nothing, have my coworkers do all the work, and just be an idiot.  Maybe I should just start doing that.

Remember how stressed I've been?  Well the new nurse has finally been trained enough that she is taking back those tasks that I have been doing.  While I'm happy about this, I now wonder what I'm going to do with my time.  I am not one who can sit and do nothing.  I just can't do that.

One last update.  Checkers seems to be doing great.  She's back to peeing once or twice a day, not showing any symptoms of the bladder stone.  She goes to the vet next week for her ultrasound and cross your fingers all is well, so I can go on vacation 9/1/14.  I so need it people.

Now onto the greatness.  Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Rescue Beauty Lounge Bikini Bottom, Lime Crime Parfait Day, Bettina Go Green, Giacinto, 15 and OPI Alpine Snow.

I started with Snow then added a layer of Bikini.

I wish you could see the marbly effect better here.  Next, I used my dotting tool and tiny brushes and went to town.  Here are the glorious results.

Are you freakin out right now??????  I know I am.  Every time I look at this, I'm like "I did this?" and then I reply to myself oh yeah man you did!

Yes this took a long time as I'm new to flowers.  There are 6 colors to each flower.  The black and yellow are acrylic paint.  I told you I was hooked on doing flowers!

Is this my greatest mani ever?????

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?

Pretty Serious Hot Summer Nights, CbL Sweet Revenge and Flowers

I told you a post or two ago that I was going to try to step up my flower design to something a bit harder. Well today is that day.

Just spent the morning cleaning my 30 gallon fish tank.  I had let it go too long and let me tell you it was filthy. I did a 75% water change, scrubbed the algae out and generally scrubbed the hell out of it.  I do love a clean fish tank, but man do I hate doing it.  Takes me an hour to do the entire task.  Not too shabby if I say so myself.  In a few days, I will stop and get some more fish as I needed to clean it first before adding new fishies in there.

My hummingbirds are in full swing at the moment.  I counted at least 5 this morning, but there must be more by the way they are going through the hummy juice I make for them.  I so love to hear them chirping and zooming.  I really need to try and capture them on my new camera.  I just haven't gotten around to that either.

I'm all excited to show you my new mani so I'm going to get right to it.

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Pretty Serious Hot Summer Nights and Colors by Llarowe Sweet Revenge. This is the original bad formula.  I did get a replacement, but I prefer this version better.  I just have to shake the hell out of it beforehand.

I started with Summer and an accent of Sweet.

Indoor Sun
I had forgotten how gorgeous these are!  Next I took my acrylic paint and did flowers. Here they are.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
Not the greatest flowers in the universe, plus you can't see the green stems I added, but overall, not bad for my first try!  What do you think?  I think I'm hooked on flowers for the moment.  Stay tuned for more!

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?

Enchanted Polish Sparkling Red Wine

I'm going to tell you my deep dark secret. I'm not much of a house cleaner.  I mean things are in their place and when the fur tumbleweeds take over, I do vacuum.  But if you really looked a little closer, you'd see things aren't what they seem.

I have a guest bathroom.  I don't use it as it uses too much water to flush. I use the one in my bedroom.  This means I never look to see what's going on in the toilet.  I just happened to be cleaning my bathroom today and decided I'd check to see what was happening in the guest bathroom.  Imagine my surprise when I found a spider happily living in there with his web.  Seems it's been a minute since that bathroom was used. Say June I think?  I burst out laughing. I mean what are you going to do? Cry??????  I evicted the poor spider and now all is right in the world.

HAHAH!  Are you like me?  Do you only get to cleaning when it gets so obviously dirty you can't take it anymore?  Or are you more fastidious and clean on a schedule and your house sparkles?  My mom used to vacuum three times a day growing up.  I kid you not.  Then she would spend most of Saturday vacuuming everything.  It's most likely why I have gone the other way.  Like I said earlier, if you came to visit, all would look in it's place. Just don't look too close, or wear white gloves!

Hey, I live alone and I'm ok with it!

Today's mani is a vampy one.  I used to do vamp all the time.  But after 3.5 years of blogging, I've strayed from my roots.

Oh and I just signed up for Tumblr.  Anyone out there knows if you can link your blog to automatically post like you can with Facebook?  It's the last of the social media I've yet to conquer.  I also am behind on my Pinterest stuff, but it seems people don't really go to my site, so I've kind of ignored it.

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Enchanted Polish Sparkling Red Wine, Colores de Carol Holo Blast, Rescue Beauty Lounge Au Chocolat and OPI Alpine Snow.

I started with skittles.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
How freakin gorgeous is this Red Wine???? I so love it! I've decided I'm going to start wearing my EPs more often.

Next I used acrylic paint and simply did this.

Indoor Sun
I got a lot of compliments on this.  I have to say, my flowers are getting better.  I'm going to try the next step up in flower difficulty soon.

How clean is your house?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

EP June 2014

Just spent the last three hours doing piddly things around the house, straightening up little piles of things etc. Now I'm staring at the screen here and have no ideas. I've noticed my daily reader numbers have gone down.  Is that because you are on vacation? Two weeks from today I will officially be on vacation. Fingers crossed that Checkers will be ok so I can go.

Work has been crazy.  Two of my patients died this week.  Kind of sad.  But part of my job dealing with cancer.  I've gone way too crazy buying Fall colors-preordered my first ILNP holos yesterday.  I sure hope they are as gorgeous in person as they are on swatches.

My Betta-who has yet to be named, made me buy him a bigger house.  Yup, I had no idea that it is a myth that Bettas like to live in the tiny jars that you see them in at stores.  I felt so bad that he had no room to swim that I went out and bought a 3.5 gallon tank with broken shells for the gravel, plants and a log thing for him to "sleep" in. So far he's ignoring the log, although I have seen him swim through it.  The other thing is, he hasn't blown me bubbles, which in Betta talk, means he's happy.  He blew me tons of bubbles in the other tank.  I do think the filtration system, although low flow, is making enough of a current that if he is making bubbles, perhaps they are breaking from the current.  I'll have to watch and see if I catch him making any.

He has learned who I am, comes up to the side of the tank when I talk to him.  It's kind of cool, as my other 30 gallon fish tank, they don't do that.  I just hope he's happy in his new house.  I haven't taken pictures yet, I will and post them here for you to see.

Let's do this mani ok?  Here is the silly bottle shot.

This is Colores de Carol Holo Blast, OPI Funny Bunny, OPI Lincoln Park After Midnight, Bettina Sunkissed and Enchanted Polish June 2014.

I started with the OPI and Bettina with an accent of June.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
So gorgeous!  Next I added some tape, and polished over top with the Lincoln Park.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
I added studs at the end.  I am totally in love with this!  I want to do another mani with all the same pattern like my pinky here.  I think that would be cool!

Are you still out there reading this????

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?

EP Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Just finished cleaning my house-the fur tumbleweeds were taking over yet again and I just couldn't stand it anymore!

Today's mani may be a bit of a fail.  I'm not sure what your reaction will be.  I kind of like it, but I do see where I could have made it better.  It also reminds me of early Christmas ornaments.  Only 136 shopping days until Christmas!  HAHAH!  It'll fly by and be here before you know it!

How do I know this?  There are websites dedicated to this.  I didn't know this, but apparently Google is this mysterious entity that knows all.  It's freakin crazy.  How does Google know so much?  Does it worry you that it may take over and dominate all of us?

Spent hours yesterday adding and subtracting music from my ipod.  I added my David Bowie, removed the James Blunt four albums, but kept his first album, which does indeed rock.  I also added the amazing Neil Diamond.  Man does that guy rock some tunes!  I added Sade, Billy Joel, Squeeze, and Dire Straits.  I am definitely rocking out. Oh and this band I saw back in the day live, called Zap Mama.  They do African Pygmy music.  It's cool as all get out.  I hadn't listened to this stuff in a long while.

I'll have a whole new set of tunes to chair dance to while driving to work and back.

All right, here is your silly bottle shot for today.

This is Enchanted Polish Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Elevation Polish Hinglajgarh Forest, Liquid Sky Lacquer Wyld Pixie, OPI Funny Bunny and Colores de Carol Holo Blast.

I started with the OPI and EP.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
Isn't this gorgeous? Next I used my nail vinyls, added some dots and here are the results.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
Now I think this is very cool.  But I do think had I done the tips the opposite of the half moon base, it would have maybe been a bit cooler.  Ah the hindsight curse!

What do you think?

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?

CbL Rare Bear and Rezipped

Totally forgot to tell you! I went to my hair dye day last week as I always do every 28 days.  I was there hanging out for at least 10-15 minutes talking to my hairdresser. When all of a sudden, I saw it.  My face on the wall of the salon at least 2 feet tall. Remember the photoshoot I did this past April?  Well, I knew at some point they were going to put the pictures up on the wall, but I wasn't told when.

There I was, on the wall, the one picture I hated of myself.  Huge-at least two feet by two feet framed me. I've made it people.  I'm now officially a model.  HAHAHAH!  NOT!  It's a little unnerving to see yourself on the wall of a salon for the world to see, but hey, I agreed to it, didn't it????

I've nothing else to really talk about today, so let's just get to it.  Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Colors by Llarowe Rezipped and Rare Bear with OPI Eurso Euro in the middle.

I started with Rezipped and Rare Bear.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
OMG! Do you see why I love holos so?  Just look at this rainbow goodness!!!!  It's amazing!  I just love this so much.

I didn't want to cover this up too much, so I used my nail vinyls and my OPI and did this.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
My after thought, was that I should have done the ring finger zigzag the other way.  It might have been cooler.  But no matter, this is still a gorgeous mani!

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?
