Colors by Llarowe Little Red Corvette

I was in the mood for a true red holo.  This is not one.  I thought it would be, but it still leans berry. Not that I'm hating it, it's quite beautiful in fact.  I just wanted a true red holo.  My search continues.

I recently cleaned my thirty gallon fish tank and whenever I do that, I always restock my fish count up to twenty five or so.  I bought six this past time and three have already died.  One was dead when I got home from the store.  I wouldn't have complained if it were just the one, but three? And two days later? Nope, I have to complain about that.

They were a dollar each and the store better not give me any crap.  I've never had this happen before when I've bought fish there.  The chick did say that they had just gotten a new shipment in and lots of times the fish die from the transport.

What this made me do was do a little research on my fishy pets and where they come from. It was not good things that I found on the internet.  My fish are considered fresh water tropical and they are farmed and shipped in small amounts of water and their lives are awful etc and it made me feel bad. My fish have a great life in my tank, but reality is, no they won't reproduce in my tank and theoretically, I could be helping to make extinct these fish in my tank.

Oh and remember when I had a betta? Their life to get to the store is even worse.  They are crammed in a small ziploc type bag with a tiny amount of water, then crammed in with more bettas in bags and shipped in big cardboard boxes.  I know this is the truth, but I wish I hadn't looked it up because now I feel sad and guilty.  I need to do more research to see if there is a store that does more humane treatment of my fish and spend my money there.

Does anyone out there know more about this and can help me?

I got my Allure magazine in the mail and freakin Kylie Jenner is on the cover.  The article is titled something like, "See how Kylie has changed beauty."  Great, an eighteen year old is going to tell me how she has single handedly changed beauty.  Gee I'm all a flutter  I just may have to stop writing this post so I can go and find out as I'm so mystified and must know now.

NOT.

Oh and the cover of my US magazine has Kim Kardashian on that.  Why am I surrounded by these people who do nothing?

The good stuff is happening on YouTube right now.  Yes, I used to not even know what YouTube was all about and now I'm sucked in and can't get out.  Oh but side note, one of the doctors told me my makeup looked awesome the other day. I had contoured the crap out of my face and used my Nars Orgasm blush. Yeah I was having a good face day.

So back to the subject.  It started with my new hero, Stephanie Nicole slamming Jeffree Star about being a bully and a horrible person with proof and screen shots.  It was insane.  Then Kat Von D did a video calling out Jeffree for not paying his bills and basically saying she was no longer his friend. Of course Jeffree had to get his two cents in and I watched that yesterday.

He refuted each point Kat had made and showed a screenshot of text messages etc.  The weird thing is that all of the texts were in blue like an imessage is, but the last text Jeffree was focused on was green.  That made me think hmmmmmm, maybe that last text had been changed? I mean, you can freakin manipulate texts, delete some etc.

Personally, I don't like Jeffree Star.  I think he is the person Stephanie showed he is.  If you really want honesty about what makeup to buy etc, go to her channel.  She actually had an Allure article written about her yesterday.  I want to be her bestie!

It's been 100F here and it's miserable.  I need to mow my yard, but it ain't happening when it's this hot out!!! I don't really have anything more to say right now so let's get to the holo!

We are continuing on with my Llarowe run on holos.  So far, I have done five of their holos for you.  I'd forgotten how awesome they are.

I'm going to do a rant now.  So those who think I'm a b*tch or whatever, you can skip this part.

I told you how my back hurts coworker is doing half days right? Well my other coworker felt sorry for her and was helping her out getting ready for her conference.  What this meant was that she was neglecting her own conference to help my back hurts.

That day came when it was her conference. While she  was at her conference, my back hurts looked at me and said, "you really need to help her out more, she was here until 8:30pm last night." Believe you me, I sent her the evil eye and stated back, "yeah that's because she's been helping you out."

She didn't like that I stated the obvious of course and replied, "she only made me some copies." Well it was more than that, but I just turned away and ignored her.  My back hurts has been strolling in about eleven and leaving about two.  And she's the one who said she didn't need coverage.

I was going to discuss this with my coworker the next day, but sadly her beloved cat passed away and she didn't come to work.  I will be discussing this with her the same day you read this so I'll have an update for you later on.  I just can't believe that my back hurts had the gall to say that to me.

Um she helped you out, why don't you help her out? Sounds fair to me right? How is it up to me to help her out?

Yeah, I'm pissed big time.

I'm beyond tired of the politics in my little stupid cube farm room.

The new nurse starts the end of August after my back hurts gets back from Hawaii.  What I see is that it used to take three people to do the breast cancer stuff.  Now it's one person doing half days. Why wouldn't the boss turn around and say, you don't need more help as you've managed to do it in half days for a month now? Seems to me she is working herself out of her job.

Do you guys have drama in your job place???? Tell me about it so I don't feel so alone here.

How freakin awesome is this???? I just couldn't cover these up with any art.  They are way too pretty on their own.  Plus, look how long my nails are getting! They are actually a bit too long.  I've since done my third gel dip mani and cut them down.  That's in a few posts.

I just found out some sad news.  The person behind the instagram account, @ane_li committed suicide.  I absolutely love her account.  She did amazing nail art and free hand.  The sad thing about this as well are the internet trolls who are commenting on her account.

One went something like, "oh so sad, new follower."  Really? How about this one, "how did she do it?" Or all the ones who are bullying and picking fights with the other commenters.  First of all people, let her rest in peace.  It doesn't matter the how, what matters is letting her family mourn the loss without the social media crap going on now.

I've told you before that I have had two close friends commit suicide.  It is a devastating thing to the people left here to grieve the loss wondering the why and what could I have done stuff.  In hindsight, I could not have stopped either one of my friends death, but there are people in some people's lives who do reach out with hints asking for help.

Pay attention to these and get them the help they need.

On a completely different and totally random note, I got a Clean set of five sampler perfumes from Sephora.  I had ordered the giant Nars Orgasm blush and got these with it.  I literally just tried each one up both my arms and as I sit here typing this, I smell like a damn brothel.

I am sitting here in my own creation of funkyness.  I'll let that picture settle in for a bit.

I made my very first car payment this weekend. Only 65 more to go!

Last post I told you that you will see what putting the gel over your cuticles looks like.  You can't see it without polish, but with it, it's quite obvious.  I also have one nail on my right hand that is about to fall off. I have got to make myself not use acetone to clean up my polish job as it's lifting my gel.

I was talking to my mom yesterday attempting to use nail glue to set it back down and ended up gluing my damn finger to my iphone.  No joke people.  I literally ruined a corner of my phone case and had my finger stuck to the screen.

Sometimes multitasking is not a good thing!

Yes this is an amazing light blue holo and I love it! But pay attention to the ridge area at my cuticles. This is a divet from my getting gel on that area.  It's not as noticeable in the first picture, but definitely in the second one.

It's a learning process!

Next I did a simple jigsaw mani using Young Turks, but it's hard to see as the holo happiness is so apparent!

Last post I also said with seven layers of polish, it makes for an even thicker nail.  This is seven layers of polish. Basecoat, two coats of Rezipped, top coat, then two coats of Young Turks and topcoat make seven.  So yeah, it's thick!

EZ Dip Gel Nails Clear Version

Yes people, today I will be showing you my new nails using the clear gel powder I got from Oceans of Beauty.  I normally use the light pink powder, no real reason why, it's just what I did when I got the NexGen done in the salon.

When I watched the YouTube video they say to do three dips using the clear as it is thinner when activated.  I normally do two dips with the pink.  If you aren't aware, all the colors start as clear with the color pigment added.  That's why they are thicker when activated.

Here is a picture of the two so you can see the difference.

The pink is on the left.  They really are very similar.

First, I took off my polish then used my buffer block to remove some of the thickness of the gel on my nails.  I did what Diana at the NexGen salon does to soak it off.  I got a bowl of acetone placed it in a bowl of hot water to heat up the acetone and put a couple of cotton balls in it.

You then soak and use the cotton balls to scrub the gel off.  It really works great! This time it took me ten minutes to remove all the gel.

I lightly buffed my natural nails, used acetone to make sure the surface was nice and clean and then followed the directions that come with the gel powder.

Here is what I have learned so far.  The first time, I was trying so hard to do light layers that I didn't get a smooth even gel layer.  I also had some lifting which is most likely my fault as I was using acetone to clean the cuticle area after polishing.  This time, I was more focused on getting the structure liquid over the entire nail and used a bit more than last time.

I also did do three dips of the clear gel.  Here is what it looked like when I had finished.  Oh this time, I was from soak off to done in a little over an hour.  Way better than the three hours it took me the first time! I did not use any tips this time as my nails have grown out.

Now because this is clear, it shows the splits in my nails that have polish in them. I also once again covered my cuticle area, which in the next post, you will see how that shows up.

My nails are quite long for me here, that's why I did do three dips.  In hindsight, it looks very thick on the nail. Here is a side view.

This doesn't look too thick here, but when you add seven layers of polish it is insanely thick.  I can't say whether I prefer the pink or the clear.  So far, they both have performed perfectly.  Next time though, I am only going to do two layers of this clear, or two thin layers of the pink and buff the pink down to thin it a bit.  I am horribly rough on my nails, so I need the thickness to keep them from breaking.  This is a bit too much though.

I was more careful when I dipped this time.  Last time I had ridges and bumps in the finished gel. This time I waited a second before dipping again using a bit more of the liquid first and I only messed up one nail.  My thumb.

After this was dipped, I had dented or moved the gel sort of like you dent your polish.  I carefully tapped it down into place.  You can see it left a half moon swipe in the gel.  I don't care as you know I am covering this up with polish anyway.  I don't think I could do a real color powder and make it look good yet.

I am happy with how this came out.  My nails are long and I am loving doing the EZ Dip gel at home. So far it's been two weeks in between doing a new set.

Colors by Llarowe Black Gold, Texas Tea

You're going to see that I've been on a Colors by Llarowe kick for the next few posts.  At least three-I haven't decided what to wear the day I'm writing this.

Some work updates.

I got to work this past Monday to an email from my back hurts coworker stating that she has decided to now work only half days for at least the next two weeks.  Remember, she has a two week Hawaii vacation coming up in August.

What gets me is the fact that the previous Friday, she could have mentioned this to me.  My cube is five feet from her.  It pissed me off really.  It was addressed to all the MDs she works with and the boss, myself and the other coworker.

I simply replied, "who's covering you?" As the boss is totally going to assume me and the other will cover her like we are to in August.  I figure if you ain't gonna discuss this with me like an adult and via email, I will reply the same way.

Her reply was that she didn't need formal coverage, that she would be there during the middle of the day.  Uh huh.  I wonder if she even talked to the boss about this first?

We share tight quarters and to me, it just is teamwork or etiquette to give your coworker a heads up saying something like, my back really hurts and I need to get better.  I've decided to do this and I don't need you to cover for me.  What I got was a mass email after the fact.

Am I wrong to be pissed about this?

The other thing was, my boss emailing me saying I hadn't done my self evaluation that was due in April and I had to do it by Friday.  I wrote her back stating I was told that I wasn't getting an evaluation this year so I didn't fill it out.

My boss has her mind made up about me and nothing I've done has changed her mind.  I originally just answered all the questions as "fully meets" because it's the middle of the road and you don't have to comment justifying your answer.

I left it for a while and went back to it later and decided to say what I felt needed to be said and that's that I bust my ass and here are the examples.  I don't expect it to have any impact and now I dread the face to face with her as I know it's just going to upset me.

It is what it is.

Enchanted Polish May 2016, Bettina Believe

I swear I'm going to get back to doing nail art.  I've just been busy and having to mow my yard etc isn't helping!

Unless you haven't been paying attention, there have been horrible shootings here in the USA.  People doing random shootings, cops killing blacks and I hate it.  This is not the kind of world I want to live in.

My hairdresser and I got into a heated discussion last time I was there as she is a firm believer in gun rights and the 2nd amendment.  Her family are hunters and that's how she was raised.  I was raised feeding deer in the backyard by hand and that guns aren't something to have around.  Although I do see the need to have hunters as otherwise the deer do starve if there is overpopulation.

This is not a post about that.

I honestly don't know what the answer is.  The UK banned guns and they don't have the kind of violence we have here.  But for that recent episode, the UK doesn't have this kind of widespread killing.  Kids in schools, people fired from their job, or mad at their loved ones are using guns to kill and then kill themselves.

Why do you have to take others out? If you're that unhappy, take your own life, but why take so many innocents with you? I just don't get that at all.

Don't get me started on the random hate on social media.  Strangers hating on strangers because you feel powerful behind the glow of the computer screen.  I just don't understand.

Is this the world you want to live in? With this much hate and violence?

The other issue is the rampant racism right now in this country that I had thought was actually getting better, is now being stirred up with all the police who are targeting blacks for no other reason than the color of their skin.  I will never know what that feels like.  I treat everyone as equal, but reality is, people of color in this country have a harder time.  I don't know the answers to all these issues. I just know that we as a nation need to realize this is not how we want to live our lives and do something about all this hate and violence.

We need to open a dialogue and talk openly about these things and really hear what both sides have to say so we can work together to stop all these killings.

Talk to me-let's talk about this.  I want to hear what you have to say about this.

In the meantime, we will go to something totally unimportant in the grand scheme of things, nail polish. Although, this EP May 2016 is a stunner for sure.

The sun was not out for the photos-trust it is way more shimmery in the sun! This is one of the monthly ones I truly love and the shimmer shows up well.  I did not get June or July as I'm trying hard not to buy too many more polish that aren't holos.

Enchanted Polish Moon Water

My coworker got her special desk and a special mat to stand on.  It's a contraption that sits on her desk that allows her to work standing up. She asked if I wanted to play with it and I said no.  There is no way I want to do my job standing up all day.

Saw one of my yard bunnies the other day eating clover in my yard.  I really don't think it's the one I helped after he got hurt.  I didn't see any damaged areas or scarring on his back near the tail where the fur had been ripped off.  I sure was happy to see a bunny back though.

I tell you all the time that I live in the woods right? Well so does everyone else in this area.  You would think these people would realize there is wildlife here in the woods with us.  That's the problem with civilization.  We are taking away the homes of the wildlife and they have no where else to go but where we are.

Imagine how I laughed when I got a text stating a bear had been sighted and all the stupid rules of what to do and not do near this bear.  First it was in this neighborhood about fifteen miles away from me, now it's been sighted even closer to where I live and each sighting comes with a text from the sheriff warning people not to approach the bear.

Oh and a reminder that it's illegal to shoot off your gun near the bear.

This stupid bear sighting even made the newspaper! I grew up with bear around all the time.  It was just the norm for me.  I just think it's silly all the hubbub going on around this one bear.

Oh and Cujo the spider has now followed me to work.  Yup, I was at work and there was a huge spider in the hallway, which a coworker stepped on and then another one in the corner of a wall that I kept passing all day long.  I don't need that at work too!

Lately, I've been inundated with millipedes in my house.  I mean up to twenty at one time! I hate those things big time!!

I could go on all day long about all the bugs and wildlife in my life.

When I first saw this polish, I honestly didn't think I was going to like it.  It reminded me of Rule Breaking Moth, which is not that pretty.  I was so wrong.  This Moon Water is stunning!

Once again, I have not won the lottery.  Damn the luck.

Am sitting here wishing I had some exciting things to tell you, but it's been all about my cats and their bowels. Once again, they have not pooped in a couple days and I'm loading them up with the laxative.  I go on vacation in two months and I can't have this happen while I'm gone as I'm not going to make my neighbor force laxative down my cat's throats.

Do you guys ever remember your dreams? I sometimes have crazy ones.  I know I told you of my night terror a while back, but this one was just plain weird.  I've no idea how to interpret something like this.

I was in the town where I grew up and got shot in the butt in front of my old friend's house.  This gunshot went thru and into my bladder.  I was in the hospital hooked up to IVs and there was a big gathering going on of people visiting me.  My dad was there, my cousin was there.  One of the nurse practitioners I work with was my nurse in this dream.

I had to change my dressing to my wound.  It was like a castle trapdoor wound and I pulled the string and a tampon came out.  Yes this was the dressing and then what was left inside was a yellow kitchen sponge with the green scrubbie on one side.  Yes, my dressing was a tampon and a kitchen sponge.

It was about this time that I woke up.

Now people have written books on the meaning of dreams.  I've absolutely no idea what the hell this is supposed to mean.  Any one out there have any ideas??

My nails are due for a new gel job.  I've decided I don't feel like doing it today, so the gap will be a bit bigger than I like, but it is what it is.  I'm feeling lazy and just want to watch YouTube videos and read magazines.

I've had the heating and air guy here doing the spring/summer inspection and he was telling me about this house he went to the other day that was like those episodes on Hoarder.  I told him that's why there's no way I could be a home health nurse as I don't want to see how other people live!

Chanel Emeraude

Oh people.  Today we have one of the most gorgeous greens in the nail polish world.  Remember how I had issues with getting my order from UPS and Chanel? Well get this, the day of my delivery, I got two packages.  It seems my reorder got duplicated and I received two sets of polish.

I immediately emailed Chanel and opened one of the boxes long enough to slap the return sticker on the box to ship back to Chanel.  When I got their reply know what they said? They told me to keep both sets of polish for all the trouble I went through getting my order.  So I now have two Emeraude and two Cavaliere!

Yes I am a lucky woman!

Oh and my mom and I won the lottery!! I forgot to tell you.  The Mega Millions is up to some ridiculously high number.  Something like $450 million.  We picked numbers and did some random numbers.  The next day, I was checking to see if we were bazillionaires and saw that in fact, we are still poor, but did win $2!!

Enough to buy two more tickets for the next drawing coming up!  WOOHOO!

Hey, at least it's something.

Work drama continues.  The girl who's back hurts keeps calling out sick.  Then the days she is at work, she's sitting on the floor doing it. Thing is, she isn't setting up an appointment with a specialist or anything like that. Oh and she's set to take off two weeks in August to fly to Hawaii.

Hmmmmmmmm. You can sit for hours on a plane, but can't sit at your desk to do work?

Something seems a bit fishy there.

My issue is I've no idea how to do her job and she'll be gone for two weeks! I know nothing about breast cancer. It's not my thing.  Luckily, after those two weeks are over, I'm on vacation fishing in Canada.  Man I cannot wait!

I keep hoping the dents in my car will magically fix themselves but so far it hasn't!

It has Chanel's signature gold shimmer in it, it has the most gorgeous deep pine green color and this is the new formula.  I really really really like this a lot! Also the inside of the bottle has a narrowing that sort of takes some of the excess polish off it before it is out of the bottle.  Sort of like mascara tubes do? I don't know how to explain it well, but it's cool and it works.

I hated taking this off!!!!

Bettina Celestial and Polish My Life Un-Teal Next Year

Man blog sales take so long to get set up and written! I've had no interest from anyone in the sale so far.  I was hoping for a mad rush, but alas, it's a total bust.

I have five nail polish posts to write and they ain't all happening today!  I have not had time to do any art, but at least I will have content for you to enjoy.

Remember when I told you I was so sick I threw up a few posts back? Well guess what happened to me again yesterday.  I kept myself from throwing up with sheer will and deep breathing meditation but my body wanted to let me tell you.

Guess what the common denominators between these two episodes are? They are equal in sickness two weeks apart. The first time, I really thought it was just a really bad period, but this second time I started to put two and two together.

The day before both of these episodes, I had mowed my yard in the heat.

Yup, that is what's making me sick.  I don't know it's happening while I'm mowing.  Yes I'm sweating big time, but I thought I was drinking enough water to compensate.  Apparently not.  I'm either getting very dehydrated or some form of heat exhaustion.  Thing is, I actually enjoy mowing my yard. Yes it wears me out, but I kind of dig it.  Is that weird of me?

So yesterday was worthless.  I spent the day sleeping on the couch.  I'm on day three of the holiday weekend and I wanted to have today to just relax and read magazines etc.  Now I'm having to catch up on the chores I couldn't do yesterday.

Oh but my yard looks nice! HAHAHHA!

Sam is finally better.  I totally filled both cats up with laxative so much so they finally both pooped their brains out.  I've also decided not to force the RX wet food on them and am letting them have the regular grocery store canned crap. Their dry food remains the RX stuff.  Their favorite flavor so far?

Lamb and Clam.

Yup, it's a thing and they both love it!  Now I just need to figure out what schedule of laxative I need to put them on.  I've given them both a break the past two days, but I know they both will still need it.
