My tribute to Fall

Today I wanted to do a fall colors mani.  I just love this time of year with the colder weather and the breathtaking colors of the leaves.  It just makes me happy.  It tells me winter is coming and I just love the cold and the snow.  Yes I am in the wrong state for cold and snow-but my heart is still in New York where I was born and raised.

I realized that I hadn't done any Joe Fresh in awhile. Thanks to Oreo, I get to enjoy this Canadian brand. Thanks, girlfriend!!  So for today's fall theme, I thought I'd start with Mocha.

Of course, the silly bottle shot has fallen leaves in it to go with the day's theme.

Joe Fresh Mocha is a light brown with golden shimmer in it.  I have to say, I just love this formula. Plus, I like a stiffer brush like this one.  Yes it can lead to dragging, but for me, I have almost perfect application and little clean up with a stiffer brush. Here are your indoor and outdoor shots.

This color is very similar to China Glaze Ingrid and Bettina #195.  Both of which I have because I am a brown polish junkie!  Next I stamped with XL plate A and Julep Sienna, which is a gold metallic.  On top of that, I stamped leaves with BM04 and red special polish.  Finished it off with my funky french.  Here are the results.

What's cool about this to me is that in the sun, the red leaf really stands out but inside the gold stamp seems to stand out more.  I think that's pretty cool.  I think these colors are perfect for fall, they remind me of the turning leaves.

Any thoughts on this?  Are you loving the double stamp or not?

It's a purple fest!

I can't believe it! I found a purple that my camera likes!! It actually shows this purple as it is supposed to be! Am thinking maybe it's because of the blue sky background? Who knows-who cares! I am excited about this color.

What we have for you today is CND Dark Amethyst. It is from their Fall/Winter 2011 kit.  It has two colors and one effect in it.  I got it for the colors.  The effect is 24 karat gold flakes-not for me-but maybe one day I'll surprise you and wear it!

Here is your silly bottle shot showing one of my new stamping plates, XL plate A.  These plates rock!

I started with Dark Amethyst.  This is a deep eggplant purple creme.  The formula was a little thin, but not too bad.  Here are the indoor and outdoor shots.

Isn't that pretty? I think so! Then I stamped with my new XLplate A and Nails Inc Lowndes Square, which is a pretty soft lilac.  Then topped it off with my funky french.  Here are the results.

I just love these two purples together.  I am so happy my camera cooperated on this post!  I thought about stamping another color on top for an accent, but the other purple I chose just didn't show so I just left it simple like this.

What do you guys think?  Aren't these purples divine?

Another Spooky Spin-

My last Halloween mani really got some attention. People seemed to really like my spin on it.  I decided to try and recapture the magic and go for another one.  Maybe I should have just gone out on a high note, but hey-it's worth a try right?

Thanks to my lovely friend Sarah Louise at Spellbinding Nails, I recently got two XL stamping plates.  I am way too excited about these patterns and just had to use this plate ASAP!

But you know the drill, before we get to the polish, we have the silly bottle shot.  Since my last post featured Sam, my other baby Checkers was all sorts of jealous. So here she is in all her glory!

She is my sweet baby and sleeps on my head at night, literally on the pillow on my head.  It's comforting for me.  Can you guess what that polish is?  Yup, another Bettina beauty.  This one is called Chic.  And it is that. A hot fire engine red sexy thang. I just love this red!  Here are your indoor and outdoor shots.  Plus, if you haven't noticed, I have switched to larger photos.  I hope you like the change.

I just can't get enough of that blue sky! I am so loving it that it has been my backdrop for the past few posts.  And this red-are you loving it? Wait til you see what I've done next!

I grabbed my new XL plate A and stamped with special white polish, then used stamp M28 with special black.  To top it off? Really? You don't know? My funky french of course!! For that, I used Orly Liquid Vinyl.  I just love that black!  Here is the final spookfest- warning the spider is CREEPY!

YIKES! That spider really is freaking me out in macro! These new stamping plates I got are awesome! They each have 42 patterns and I can't wait to show them to you.  So what about this new spooky spin? Does it rate any where near my other one?  I wonder why people always do spider webs in black? Have you ever looked at a spider web? It's white.  But that's just me.  I like this mani a lot.

So what do you think-does this rate compared to my other spooky success? Is my spider giving you nightmares?

I made Christmas candy!

I was all excited to do something spectacular for you today.  I was going to step up my stamping and really impress you.  I'm not sure that I succeeded.  Read on-

I finally got my Color Club Artsy Crafty from some cheap online crap store.  At first they sent me Fame and Fortune-which is a pink glitter! You guys know me-what do you think my reaction was to this??  Oh yeah, I was cringing inside.  I ordered a nice green creme and got pink glitter!  This company made me send it back before they would send me what I originally ordered.  WTF? What kind of crap is that? It's your mistake, not mine!  But they were insistent. So after days of waiting, I finally can show you the lovely Artsy Crafty.

Here is my big boy Sam (he weighs 26 lbs) and the silly bottle shot.  He would not sit still, so I snapped this rather quickly.

Isn't he a cutie? Funny story-I like my house cold. Yesterday, it was 42 outside and 62 inside.  Yes I had my windows open but it was a little chilly.  So I turned the heat on to 65.  Then I couldn't find Sam. After searching my mansion, all 1100 square feet of it, I found him lying on one of the heater vents on the floor! I guess it was chillier than I thought in my house!!

Anyway, on to the polish.  Artsy Crafty is a lovely olive green creme and I was going to pair it with Color Club Perfect Mol-ten from the foil collection. These are great for stamping!  The PM is a light green metallic foil.  Here are the indoor and outdoor shots. Unfortunately, it was raining and cloudy, so no sun shot.

Aren't these nice together?  I then stamped with plate BM 203, it didn't show up on the accent nail. Artsy Crafty is not good for stamping.  Then here is the wow factor, I grabbed Color Club Red-ical Gypsy and stamped with plate M76.  On my pinky, you can see it just doesn't show up, so I didn't do the rest of my nails.  Only the accent nail, then of course, my funky french.

I was going to try to get a sunshine shot in the next day, but alas, I broke 2 nails on my picture hand!  So I will be filing the rest down for the next post.  Such a bummer!

While at work, the doctors always want to see what's on my nails that day.  The one I was working with that day looked at them and said "it looks like the candy you get at Christmas."  But he couldn't remember the name of it.  So my spectacular wow you mani looks like Christmas candy!

Oh well, there's always next time!

It's #100!

So have you recovered from last post's horror?  Do you need therapy? Well that's what I'm here for!  If you are not already a follower, you need to be!

For today's mani, I wanted to do some more Bettina. This is a lovely polish brand from Puerto Rico.  I have not yet tried all the colors I own.  I also wanted to point out that this is my 100th post! How freakin cool is that?  Back when I started, I had no idea what I was getting myself into.  I have met so many awesome people from around the world. Have tried many polish brands from other countries. And I am loving this nail polish fanatic community.  Another blog I follow hit 500 posts recently-someday that will be me!

Now on to the polish.  Here we have my silly bottle shot.

I even got a fall leaf in there!  On the left we have Bettina Jeans Premium Wash, and Aqua on the right. My camera is messing with these colors again.  The JPW is more periwinkle and darker, the Aqua has more green in it.  So frustrating!!

The formula on these were spot on as usual.  I really had minimal clean up.  Here are your indoor and outdoor shots.

It really is a pretty periwinkle blue.  This is not showing it's true beauty.  I am loving that blue sky in the background. Just so pretty this time of year.

Using Aqua, I stamped with plate BM 19 and did my funky french.  I think this is my favorite stamp so far. I just love this pattern and want to try it out on different colors.  Again, the indoor and outdoor shots.

Aren't these two blues lovely together?  I am so loving this pattern and this look.  The Bettina brand really knows how to do cremes!  Oh yeah, I love me some cremes!!

What's your favorite pattern?
