Enchanted Polish Disco H2O

I'm sure you've all been like WTF Fingers? You haven't posted in a week! I need my Fingers fix. How can you deprive us like this?

Let me just say that after I got back from vacation, an incident happened at work that I will get to in another post plus I had a visit from my Aunt Flo.  HEHEHE.  For those who watch South Park religiously like I do, you will get the meaning of that.

For those that haven't a clue, it's that time of the month people.  Every third month or so, it hits me and it hits me hard.  I had a bad migraine, was tired as hell, didn't do a damn thing and literally had naked nails for the whole week.

GASP! Yup, a whole week.  I had actually put on a layer or two from the ZOYA Naked Manicure set but the tips had chipped off and I actually went a week with chipped and naked nails.  So not cool for a polish addict to do, but sh*t happens. If you want a post about that Naked Manicure set, let me know.  I can do that for you.

I have seven posts ready to go-I just have to write them up.  I will be writing up six of them today, which will give you guys twelve days of stuff to read.

Was at my doctor's conference this past Friday and we started talking about Frank Zappa and I remembered how much I used to love his song"Catholic Girls" and "Don't Eat The Yellow Snow." So I just had to download them and I have "Catholic Girls" on repeat.  Man I love that song!

It's finally Fall here and I have my windows open and it's not a billion degrees outside.  I love this time of year.  I have not bought any new nail polish except for Enchanted Polish.  You all know how I've got to have me my EPs!

When I was home for vacation, I went to the bead store as I always do when I'm there.  Imagine my happy dance when they told me they were having a half off sale! So instead of the three or so I was going to buy to finish off the one bracelet I've been working on for two years or so, I bought ten and a new bracelet to start! What I've done is split the beads into two bracelets.  Thirteen beads on each one.

Here are pictures of them.

You can see I sort of put the neutrals and browns on one and the pastels etc on the other.  These are all Fenton Art Glass beads except the blue bead with the hearts on the second bracelet.  That's an actual Pandora one.  I prefer the pretty glass from Fenton.

If anyone wants to know what one of the beads are called or whatever, let me know.  I left you a link to their online store.  So I took off my woven hippie bracelets and just have these two on.  A more mature look perhaps? The only bummer is they get in the way when I'm typing at work.

All right.  Let's look at the gorgeous new Enchanted Polish Disco H2O.

Yes my nails are not pretty.  They are still growing out from the NexGen stuff.  I have about a third of my nails left to grow out.  But as you all know, my natural nails are nubs anyway.  So there it is.

However, this is a gorgeous holo.  Leans a bit more green IRL.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

I've got Pink eye looks

HEHEHE.  Had a little giggle with myself over that title.  No I don't have pinkeye, which is not a fun thing to have. I have two eye looks to show you that actually use pink in both looks.  Go figure.  I did these for work and before I left on vacation.  I just never had time to post them until now.

Now I promised you last post a rant.  Are you ready? Cause I'm pissed.  You don't want me to be pissed.  It ain't pretty.

Remember the high end makeup blog sale I posted a while ago? Well, there was little interest.  One of the YouTube channels I watch also raves about the website Glambot.  They sell used high end makeup and buy certain brands from people like me.  HOWEVER, they have to be one of their preferred brands and you have to have at least 20 items to sell at one time.

They do pay for you to ship them out to them to inspect.  Of course, it goes the cheapest slowest route, but hey they do pay for it.  Then they email you a quote that you either accept or not.  If you don't accept, you must pay to get your sh*t back.  If you don't do anything, after two weeks, they keep your stuff and sell it anyway.

I think most of you saw the huge amount of high end stuff I was trying to sell.  Dior, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox etc.  I did what they said.  I packed and shipped them 26 items.  More than was needed, but I wanted this stuff gone and needed the money.  I then went on vacation and didn't get their offer until mom and I had crossed back into the USA from Canada.

Their offer? For 26 high end products that I paid a butt load for?

$106!

Shall I repeat that?

$106 for 26 high end items that they will clean up and sell for $20-$40 USD making them about $500.  Do the math people.  This is $4 an item to me.  Of course though, if I got their store credit I could have $138.

Do I look stupid to you?

I was pissed.  Told my mom and she was pissed.  Thing is though what was I going to do? Pay to have the crap sent back and sit in my desk like it's been doing? I actually sent them a nasty reply stating that I didn't think their offer was fair.  That $4 an item that they will sell for $40 was unfair and I counter offered $175.  Still less than I thought fair, but what can you do.

Their reply? "We don't take counter offers."

So yeah, I caved and took the little money they offered.  I did send another nasty email telling them I would NEVER do business with them again and would tell all of you not to either.

A few days later I went on their website (still at Mom's) and saw my stuff on there for sale at exactly the prices I figured they would sell them for.

I got screwed big time.

Please people-listen to me and do not do business with Glambot unless you want to give your sh*t away for little to no money.

Now here are the two eye looks I did before my vacation.  I am still having such a hard time getting the lashes in the right place.  I did order some new styles to try from Amazon.com and will let you know when I get them!

I will soon be ordering the ring light to make for better pictures.  These are taken with my iphone with a macro lens added.  You can see in the second picture that the lash band is not on my lash line. These are actually demi lashes and I still need tons of practice!

I used Morphe eyeshadow palette 35B, Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow in Auburn (though the flash cancels it out) and Mac eyeliner is Petrol Blue.  The lashes are Ardell and I hope you are liking these posts!

Once I get the lighting, I hope to do short tutorials and definitely have better photos for you!'

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Barielle Blushing Beauty, Nails Inc Snowflake and Vacation Pics

I'm back people!  And I'm well rested and today is my last day of vacation.  Day #12 off in a row.

Yes people.  I don't fool around when I take my yearly vacation.  A week is just not enough for me. Nope no way.  But I'm already dreading the 0445 alarm tomorrow as I have been sleeping in and loving it!

Now this is going to be a picture heavy post. I warned you!

First off, I drove nine hours to where I grew up.  I love a good road trip and no I don't fly.  It terrifies me.  I drive everywhere.  Once I got to my mom's house, the first thing we did was go see my dad's grave.  I hadn't seen his headstone yet as it couldn't be placed back in May when he was buried.

I have to tell you I am still really having an incredibly hard time with his death.  I know my mom is as well.  It was surreal standing there, knowing that your dad is under the ground never to be seen again.

Reality sucks big time.

I actually went back again by myself and had a long talk with him and a long sobfest.  Did it make me feel better? Maybe a tiny bit, but not really.  The things I said to him, I wish I had said in person. I thought I had more time.  People out there-don't be like me.  Say what needs to be said now before it's too late.

OK enough of that.

The next morning after I arrived, mom and I went to our camp in Canada.  Those that pay attention know I go there every year and that it is my happy place.  The place where I am most content etc.

On the way there, we pass a field of wind turbines.  I happen to love these things but I know there is a whole lot of controversy about them.  Here are pictures I snapped from the moving car.  I only had my iphone, I did not bring my camera with me.

Aren't they pretty? I am fascinated by these turbines!

Next we crossed the USA 1000 Island Bridge.

Then of course, you have to go through Customs into Canada.

We picked the line that took the longest.  Sometimes you pick wrong!

USA and Canada have the same Labor Day Holiday.  We got there and the lake was packed with people and boats and jet skies and noisy kids.  I go there for the peace and quiet and to be the only people on the lake. Luckily, they all left that evening and I got my quiet. It was also hot as hell.  I got badly sunburned.

Trust that it was way redder IRL!  And yes I know all about sunscreen so please don't start with me.  I go outside once a year and I'm opposed to sunscreen.  It's a thing with me.

Now though, I am a peeling mess.  I hate that!

The fishing was awful.  I caught two largemouth bass.  One we ate, the other was too cute and I threw him back in the lake.

How pretty is this fish? That's why I just couldn't eat him.  Plus, he just wasn't big enough as a trophy fish.  Even though the fishing was awful, I love it there and wish I could live there and wish I could go more than once a year.  I also don't have internet in Canada-I refuse to pay for that.  So I was unplugged for those five days and for most of the time I was at my mom's.  It was nice.

Mom and I kayaked every day for two hours at a time roughly.  The last day we were there, we floated into a group of literally 50 loons.  It was an amazing sight.  We just sat there in the middle of the lake and watched them and listened to their chirping to each other.  I didn't have my camera with me and I so wish I could show you pictures, but I don't even have them for myself.  It was a magical experience.

It just goes way too fast.  I wait all year for it to come and then it's gone and over.

So let's look at another of the Barielle colors from the Mirror Mirror collection called Blushing Beauty.

Now these aren't the best pictures as my nails are crap, still growing out and this polish was a jelly and not cooperating.

What I did was pull out another glitter.  Damn hell you say? Another glitter? What is wrong with me??????? This one is from Nails Inc from the holiday time, from the Snowflake set this one called White Chapel which has white and gold dot and bar glitter with holo sparkles.  My camera would not take a decent picture.  The sparkles freaked it out.

It is a pretty glitter as far as glitters go!

Stay tuned for my next post as it is a big time rant.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Yet another two eye looks

Yes people, I have been doing eye looks and enjoying the hell out of it.  When this posts, I will be on vacation.  I will actually be driving back to Yankee land north of the Mason Dixon line where I belong.

My baby Checkers officially turned thirteen this week.  I still remember the day I picked her out at the animal shelter.  She literally fit in the palm of my hand and was roughly seven weeks old and weighed two pounds. She threw up on me on the car ride home.  It turned out that she had caught a bad respiratory infection at the shelter and she was so sick. I had to take her to the vet nearly every day.  She hated the car.  Used to cling to my shoulder, the same way you burp a baby.

I would boil water so she could breathe the steam and I fed her with a syringe.  At the time, I was sick myself so I was home instead of at work.  For the first two weeks I had her, her feet never touched the ground.  I carried her with me everywhere.  The vet told me later that she believed that Checkers wasn't going to survive that cold.  I made sure she did.

She's been my baby and my reason for living ever since.

She still loves nothing more than to be picked up.  The second I get home from work she's in the window looking for me.  Once I'm inside, she whines and whines until I pick her up.  Then she purrs and purrs and rubs her face on mine.  You would never know that she is thirteen.  She runs and plays like she's still a kitten.  I keep telling her she's a senior kitty, but she won't hear of it.

There is just nothing like the love of a pet.

Yup.  She's my baby.

Anywho, I'm running late for hair dye day.  Gonna try again to get Jaclyn Hill red.  So here are the eye looks for this post.

This first one was literally done with bright bright orange shadow on top of brown.  I was wearing an orangey skirt and wanted eyes to match.  I took a butt load of pictures and this was the best I got.

This next one was just a simple brown look as I wasn't in the mood for anything fancy.

I am still learning how to place the false lashes in the correct place.  I don't quite think I've gotten the hang of it yet.  I get glue everywhere and can't get it in the right spot and it's still a huge messy challenge for me.

I won't give up though!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Two more eye looks

As I write this, there are three days left before I'm on vacation.  I will be gone for at at least ten days and I won't be posting while I'm gone.  I'm not even going to worry about my social media either.  In the past, I have taken my computer, camera, polish etc with me just so you guys won't miss a day of my posts.

I'm past worrying about that right now.

There are more important things in life than my silly blog.  Spending time with family I don't get to see very much is what's important.  Plus, I'm going to fish my face off and my nails always take a beating from all the water, fish fins, hooks etc.  So yeah, I should have about three posts set up to go here and then there will be a big gap.  Just giving you a heads up.

So remember how I told you that I had the worst week last week? The coworker came back from vacation and I asked her if we did ok covering her work.  Her reply?  Wasn't thank you so much I really appreciate it, nope.  It was 'well I usually do this and you guys did this and I was missing a bunch of stuff.'

Really???? Wow.

I knew that we weren't going to do it right as we've never covered for her before.  If it were me? I wouldn't have mentioned anything wrong even if there was.  I would have just said thank you so much and gone on  with my day.  That was really some bullsh*t right there.

Plus, because she and her doctor complained so much about the title change and making her get off her a** and work a clinic or two, she got a new person to help her out.  I made a comment to someone that that will just give her carte blanche to once again sit on her a** and do nothing.  Her second day back from vacation? She sat on her a** and others did her clinics.

I am so over it.

Now today, I have two more eye looks for you.  These I did on a Saturday when I had the time to do it slow and right.  I promise you that when I get back from vacation, I will be ordering a ring light from Amazon so I can take better pictures with my camera and not be reliant on my iphone.

My camera will also show these colors more accurate once I get better lighting.  This one I used greens, teals and blues.  I wanted a pop of green in the center of my lid, but the pigment on this Morphe palette just isn't all that.  I will be buying some Makeup Geek ones after vacation as well.

I used the row of green third row up from the bottom and the teal next to the bright lime green one for this look.  It came out really cool, just wish it were color accurate!

This one is oranges and blues.  I used eyeshadow for the water line to match the corner of my eye. Same palette as above, used the oranges in the second/third row from the top.

Here is the mess I made once I had finished.

HAHAHHAH!  It takes time to be beautiful! Took me about an hour for each look.  Definitely not something I can do before work!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Chaos and Crocodiles Black Ops, Barielle Silk Stockings

Last week at work was in the top five worst weeks of all time.  I am not kidding.  First I've told you that they have piled on a ton more work to my already bad load and this past week, the one person who does breast cancer was on vacation.

I know nothing about breast cancer.  What people don't get is that each individual cancer is different. It's tested different, it's treated different and it acts different.  What I know about the breast is that I have a pair.  That's literally all I know.

The same goes for my coworker.  She and I are clueless and this is the very first time since I started working there six years ago, that I have had to cover her workload. I wish I were exaggerating but I'm not at all.  She and I did the best we could and by the end of the week, I was exhausted and she was crying. On Friday, we decided we would pay our coworker to never take a vacation again!

Here is a literal picture of my workload this past Thursday.

Now this is ON TOP OF my normal work that needed to get done.  I texted this picture to one of the doctors I work with and he told me not to start any fires!  Yeah the thought had crossed my mind.

That day was awful big time.  I just kept telling myself  'one more week and you're on vacation'.

Oh I'm going to tell the world what my mom hasn't even told anyone but me yet.  I convinced her to get a cool haircut and dye her hair for the first time since the 80s! Now my mom is 70 and she spends so much time outdoors that her hair is sun bleached blond. She had decided she wanted to go a pretty medium brown.

Apparently, the first time her hair turned bright red.  Which of course, I would love as this is my hair color at the moment.

I was trying to get the same color as Jaclyn Hill.  It's very close but not quite.  It needs a bit more violet in it.  In a couple of days, my hairdresser and I will try again.

Anywho, back to my mom.  They had to re dye a second time and this time, it came out a pretty brown.  She sent me her first selfie and it doesn't even look like mom anymore.  It's kind of freaky, but I like it!  She'd kill me big time if I posted it here, so I won't do that to her.

I kept telling her my mantra, which is, it's just hair it grows back and can be re dyed and fixed!  We shall see if she keeps it up.  So now she has her gel funky french nails and her hair dyed.  I think I'm having a bad influence on her! At least her wallet!  HAHAHH!

Now, I have two swatches for you today.  The first is another from the Barielle Mirror Mirror Fall/Winter 2015 collection.  This one is called Silk Stockings.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
Now you all know how I love me some brown! This formula however was not like the other two I've shown you so far.  This one was not a one coater, this was thin and a beeyotch to play with.  Makes me sad as I wish all the formulas matched. I don't understand why they aren't.

The next one is from the Special Agent set by Chaos and Crocodiles called Black Ops.  A stunningly gorgeous hard core black holo.  My favorite kind!

How awesome is this????? I am in love big time!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Two eye looks from last week-

I have a few updates for you today.  First one is about my new skin care routine.  Remember I told you I bought the Ole Henricksen kit? I literally just used up the last of each bottle today.  I received this kit on 7/7/15 and today as I write this, it is 8/29/15.  That is 7.5 weeks this set lasted me.

I faithfully used this set twice a day without missing once.  When I first got the set, I was worried that one would be used up before the other and that sort of thing, but nope, they all finished at the same time.  I love it when that happens.

Now, when I first started it my face freaked out with acne.  But people, that is normal whenever you start a new regimen.  It is pulling out all the acne that is under the surface that you can't see yet. Now 7.5 weeks later, I still have a few healing spots as I heal slow, but no new spots.  To be honest, I can't really tell if there is a difference in my skin from my other regimen  that was M2.  I already have another Ole Henricksen set so I figured I'd at least try another round before deciding which one to stick with.

I have added back my M2 serum to the OH set and I've also found that the two exfoliants dry my skin out a bit so I added OH Youth Activating Oil to the night time routine.  It is pure rose hip oil and some other oils.  It turns my face orange for a minute.  Kind of funny to see, but it has added back some much needed moisture. Overall, right now, I like it.

Last post I told you about my false lash issues.  I figured out I needed a better lash glue and to use a bit more.  I had been using the sample Eylure glue that came with the practice lash kit (YES there is such a thing) but as I told you, it wasn't holding well.

I bought the DuoLash one that is reviewed as best and damn did that make a huge difference.  The issue though, was the Eylure had a wand that you swiped on the lash band to place the glue.  The DuoLash was a tube and I got glue all over me, the tube and the lashes! It was awful.  I ruined a couple of lashes trying to clean them for another use. But, damn they held well.  I could feel the difference on my lid.

No more whacked out funky lash day for me!  HAHAHAH!

Now I wanted to show you two eye looks I had done this past week.  Yes I wore these to work so I don't have tutorials and I am still saving money to buy a better lighting system.

The first one I chose to wear yellow as I had on a yellow shirt.  Probably wrong to be all matchy matchy but that's how I roll.  Breaking the rules.

This was taken with my iphone after a whole day at work.  These are the Demi lashes which have the longest lashes at the outside corners.  The yellow in the corner of my eye was brighter IRL and the teal liner was as well. But yeah, I was rocking the yellow.

Here is the palette I used.

See the top row? I mixed those two yellows after putting NYX eye pencil in Milk on first.  Doing that makes the yellow pop even louder.  I wish I could have captured it here.

Now the next one, I was wearing blue.  Bottom row of this same palette second one in.  IRL this is a deep dark navy.  That's what I thought I was going to get.  Nope.  But I was running late for work and I couldn't fix it, so I decided to rock the shocking blue eyeshadow.

You ready?

You can already see a vast improvement in my iphone skills here.  Again, this was after a day at work.  I also used the new glue I told you about and these are the full on in your face lashes.  I love them! See how light and blue the shadow is? Not dark navy at all.  But I didn't have time to add more, perhaps with more piled on.  Who knows.

This is also my right eye, which I think makes for better iphone flash shots since my eye is on the same side as the flash.  I just hope I can recreate this lighting as it is way better than the previous one I just showed you!

The weird thing is, IRL my brows were caked with brow stuff.  But here, it looks like I have nothing one.  It's freaky!

Hope you are enjoying these!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
