The Green Goblin!

Today I sit in front of my computer trying to come up with words of wisdom.  I think I have run out of things to say.  Maybe it has to do with the pounding migraine going on that is blocking all my inspiration.  Maybe it has to do with telling people they have cancer the Friday before a three day holiday weekend.  Sometimes, it really gets to me. All my patients who have been told they have cancer.  I read the obituaries every day to see if anyone I know is in there.  Way too often there is.

Wow what a maudlin start to this post!  I would delete it but that would be fake of me to do.  This is how I am  feeling at this point in time.  By the time this posts, I'll be over it.  I figure if I ever get numb to my feelings, that's the time to stop being a nurse.

On to a more happy note! Here we have my big boy Sam and his monstrous belly showing us our bottle shot of the day.  Take it away Sam!  He actually posed for this!

Oh yeah, that is all 26 lbs of him!  This is Bettina #194 and Enchanted Polish Green Goblin. Of course I had to rub his belly for a few minutes!

I started with the Goblin, which is a gorgeous green holo with an accent of #194 which is a stunning dark teal creme.  Leaning more on the green side.  Here are those shots.

Isn't this stunning??  I am loving this combination of holo and creme.  Next, I stamped with MASH plate 40 and finished it off with my funky french.  Here are way too many shots of this awesomesauce!

I never tire of those rainbows.  I just love them.  I love the contrast between a holo and a creme.  Don't you?

I just ordered an Ott light and hope that it helps on days when the sun don't shine. Also, I got in a new set of color change topcoats.  So I will be playing with those and leaving the holos for a bit.  Believe me, I have a ton more holos to show you.  I just don't believe in layering a color changer over a holo and muting the rainbows.  It's like sacrilege to me! But I may just have to try and see what happens!

These MASH plates are out for sale now!  Make sure you click here to buy them!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

I am digging this one big time

How's that for a title?  I just have to say that I am loving this mani I came up with and it has made it to my top ten if not top five.

Before we get to that though, it's story time.  Today I had to go to the dentist.  I absolutely hate and am so terrified of the dentist.  The only reason I go is because I like my dental hygienist.  She actually told me today that her last name is Hatfield and she is related to THE Hatfields.  You know that whole story from a long time ago about the Hatfield's and the McCoy's.  She even told me that her father gave a rifle from that event to her husband.  Can you imagine?

Anyway, there is nothing worse than having someone pick at your teeth.  I hate that so much and am so terrified of cavities that I use an electric toothbrush for six minutes a session.  Yeah, I don't mess around.  The only thing I need to make myself start doing is flossing.  I just can't get myself into that.  And the Xrays? Ugh.

Must stop reliving my morning's experience right now and talk nail polish!  We are still in holo land and if you are tired of it.  TOUGH!

We start, as always, with the silly bottle shot.

My two favorite indie brands playing nice together.  This is Enchanted Polish Midnight and Elevation Polish Sample #87. Behind is one of my prized possessions. I got this a long time ago like when I was 9.  Couldn't tell you where, maybe my parents will tell me. This is a piano made of blown glass.  It has traveled with me my whole life.  It has lived in 5 states with me and survived without breaking.  It truly is priceless to me.

Back to today.  I started with Midnight which is a charcoal holo and an accent of #87 which is a deep dark navy blue with hidden shimmer.  The sun was again hiding for this part.  Here are those shots.

I am just loving both of these colors without the holo goodness.  I mean they are just dark and stormy and luscious.  I then stamped with Orly Liquid Vinyl, MASH plate 42 and topped it off with my funky.  Here are the freakin awesome results. The sun came out and all was well.  Here are too many pictures to boot.

OMG! Are you kidding me right now?  I can't take my eyes off this one.  I really can't.  I am fascinated by the dark smoky blackness and then BAM rainbows!  It's the most exciting thing to me.  I might have to say this is my favorite holo so far.  I still have way more to show you, but so far, this is my #1.

Do you love the dentist?  Or are you afraid like me?

Are you loving these holos as much as I am? These new MASH plates are on sale now! Get them here.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

I got a little pushy...

Hmmmm.  Now that's one intriguing post title isn't it?  I bet you guys are thinking I'm about to tell a story about me being a hard ass and getting in someone's face so as to get my way.  Don't lie-that's what you're thinking aren't you?  Well I'm here to tell you that you are wrong.

Check out this cool mani/pedi kit I got from Tweezerman.  It has two sizes of nail clippers, different grit nail files, a set of tweezers, a nipper, a pumice stone on a handle and two funky tools that I am just loving right now.

Can you dig it?  This is the coolest thing I have ever seen in terms of mani/pedi kits. Now on to the funky tools.  Here is a picture of them alone.

Oh yeah.  Don't they look like medical instruments?  They are well made, heavy for their size, stainless steel and made with precision in mind.  The top thingy is an ingrown toe filer/cleaner and works amazingly well.  I'm not going to talk about toe jam here because it's a gross subject.  But the other thingy is called a 'pushy'.  Now you get my post title! If you can see it, it even says pushy on the left side. This is a great cuticle pusher. I've been using an orange stick like a lot of people do, but I must say, this does a much better job for me.  It even cleans up the stuff that you normally use remover for.  I am in love!  I will never go back to my orange stick!

For more information and purchasing these items, you can go to Tweezerman's website.

Back to the mani for today. I am continuing on with my holo happiness.  I still have so many to show you, it's unreal!  The bummer for today is that my camera is once again being stupid.

Why is it that cameras have such a hard time showing purples as they are?

We start with the silly bottle shot.

I even took this picture on a blue towel hoping to show the purple to no avail.  This is Enchanted Polish Awesomeness and Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. You can already see the rainbows!

I started with Lucy, which is a gorgeous pale lilac holo.  An accent nail with Awesomeness which is a blurple holo.  Here are those shots.

OMG! Isn't this absolutely amazing!  Oh yeah it would be even more awesome if it was purple like it was supposed to be!  But no matter.  You can still see how many rainbows are in this.  Stunning right?

Liana needs love too

Now you all know that I am addicted and in love with Elevation Polish.  I have made no secret of that have I?  Well imagine my surprise when I was told that one of my favorite colors from her May collection did not sell at all.  What is wrong with you people??? Poor Liana has been left behind and feels neglected and unloved.  I am here to show you just how gorgeous she truly is.

Before we get to the task at hand, I want to share another little story.  I lived in St Louis for seven years.  I am absolutely in love with that city.  If I could live there again, I would. For now though, I don't want to be that far away from my family again.  Hey mom and dad!  When I lived there, I used to just sit for hours under the Arch and just watch people.  It was my talisman, the Arch.  For my 40th bday a few years back, I went back and spent my birthday under the Arch.  It was amazing.  Why am I telling you this?  Be patient my people.  For it will be revealed.

Here is your silly bottle shot for today.

Check out this picture I took.  I was standing directly under the Arch and aimed up.  I loved it so much I blew it up and framed it!!  In front is Elevation Polish Denali and Liana.

I started with Liana which is a gorgeous cafe au lait brown with hidden shimmer.  Denali is a reddened purple shimmer for my accent.  Here is that step.  The sun was hiding for this part.

How can you not love Liana?  I'm gonna pretend that you guys just missed this color during the sale.  Next I simply stamped with my MASH plate 46 and topped it off with my funky french.  Nothing fancy, just showcasing these two gorgeous colors together. Here are the results.

OMG! I am just loving these two colors together aren't you?  Plus this MASH design is really cool but for the life of me I can't figure out what the design reminds me of. Dominos?  Help me people!  It's bugging me that I can't figure it out!

These MASH plates are on sale now!! Click here to get there.

Now don't you feel bad that you ignored Liana?  It's not too late, you can still pick this one up! Show Liana some love people!

I leave you once again with a random napping kitty shot. This peaceful shot was 5 minutes before the neighbors chopped down and ground up a huge tree making all sorts of racket!

Yes they always nap like this.  Isn't it so cute?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
