I interrupt this broadcast to alert you to the Bundle Monster Halloween contest! Voting is live now until the 23rd! Please go vote for me! I'm on page 5.
The other day, I was catching up on my blog posts, when I came across The Crumpet's one about is blogging dead? It really got me thinking.
I used to get tons of comments. Up to 20 or so a post. Now I'm lucky if I get 3-4. On the other hand, I used to leave a billion comments on others, but find myself not doing that anymore. If I had to pinpoint when this happened, it would be when Google Reader died. I think many people used that tool to read through a lot of blogs and it was easy to leave comments. Now that that is gone, the other platforms just don't seem as conducive to commenting. Maybe I am way off here, but that's the beauty of writing my own blog.
My opinion is the only one that matters! HAHAHA! Just teasing! I must admit though, that I have become very enamored with Instagram. Most of the time, I don't really care what color something is, because it's the idea I'm looking for. If I'm specifically looking for a polish, then I do go to blogs for swatches. Instagram lets you scroll through a lot of posts in a very short period of time. The thing you miss out on though is getting to know the person behind the picture. That's what blogs are for.
I don't do Facebook at all. Yes I have set it up so that my posts automatically go there, as well as the rest of the platforms out there. But I don't engage in most of them. Sometimes I think I'm missing out on something because I don't do Facebook chats and group things. In reality, I'm a loner and really don't do group things. I'm just not a joiner. It's the same in my real life. I don't do work things either.
I will say that I still get the same 200 or so hits per day. That has remained constant, so I know you guys are looking. I just wonder if the blogging rage is dying out. It seems when I started 2.5 years ago, it was the thing to do. Start a blog. Nowadays, I'm not so sure it's the IN thing anymore.
What do you think about all this? Have you seen a decrease in your comments and readers?
Anywho, enough of my babbling. Here is your silly bottle shot.
Yes I know this is not my normal shot. I totally forgot to take it on mani day. This is what my blog writing workspace looks like. You can see polish in the background. Where I sit to write, I am surrounded by bookcases full of polish. You can see my new iPhone5S-that is my internet. I tether to my laptop. Since I live in the woods, I don't have high speed.
This is Rescue Beauty Lounge Chinoise and Iconoclast.
I started with Iconoclast and an accent of Chinoise.
It has been raining here for literally four days in a row now. I love a good rainy day, but even this is making me sad.
Next I stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM413. I added studs and some chainlink to my accent nail. I think the results are pretty cool.
I love these skulls on this plate! Whoever drew these and got these designed is awesome! Check out that chainlink. That is new for me. I used some nail glue and then dripped Seche down over top. I wore this at work for two whole days and they stayed on. I used acetone to remove it with no problem.
The bummer is trying to cut that link. It's magnetized for some reason, or my scissors are. When I try to cut, nothing works. I use my heavy duty kitchen scissors and the link sticks to it like magic. It's weird. But I do love it and have more coming in many different colors!
Do you think blogging is dead?
Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?
