Makeup Geek Eyeshadows, Yellow Eye Fail

Today I will be showing you some new eyeshadows I've gotten recently.  So far I am loving them as they blend well and have good pigmentation for the cheap price.  I will also show you the eye fail I did with my new studio set up using my left eye when I now know I need to use my right eye and different camera settings.

I will show you my vindication in two posts from now!

I'm now writing the fourth of six posts in one sitting and I'm running out of things to talk about!

I don't know if you guys go on Instagram and check out the eye looks.  I know I do as I'm trying to get inspiration and education.  What I also see is a butt load of photoshopping and "fixing" things. While I don't have a problem with it because I know it's being done, there may be a ton of younger people out there that don't know they can't achieve these looks without photoshop.

That's where my issue comes in.  I will tell you right now that I will photoshop out some eye goo I didn't know was there or a stray brow hair I missed, but I won't ever do it to the extreme that some of the accounts on Instagram do.

Full disclosure however, I did play with a new app with the eye look I'll be showing you today.  It was a huge fail anyway and I thought perhaps if I messed with it a bit, I might salvage some good out of it.  The app is called FaceTune and this app will make your teeth whiter, your eyeballs whiter, take out your wrinkles and all sorts of other stuff.  It was fun to play with but that's just it.  I was playing with it.  The next eye look I show you a few posts from now I did so much better with my technique and photographing that I didn't feel the need to try and fix a fail.

Does that make sense?

I will share with you a few accounts I do love on Instagram.  The top one being Rebecca Seals.  She just does things with color that I personally love.  Not appropriate work looks, but they are so spot on perfect that I strive to do looks like hers.

Another one is Tania Waller.  She has a YouTube channel but she is one who heavily photoshops her eye looks. Yes I know this but yes I still love her eye looks.

One that does no retouching at all is Elle at PittPantherelle.  I do love her looks.  I hope to one day be good enough to post tutorials like she does.

Let me show you the new eyeshadows I've gotten.

There are 55 in total.  These two palettes hold 54.  I have a jet black shadow not in these pictures.  As you can see, even in eyeshadows I'm not a pink person! HAHAHA.  Neutrals and browns forever!

Here is the eye look I did that I feel is a fail.  I did however, do my first winged eyeliner, but you can't see it.

And remember this was WITH a ton of photoshopping and it still sucked ass.  There was just no saving this one. Oh but look how pretty the ring light is in my eye.  I used yellow duh and these beautiful khaki/olivey greens from the makeup geek shadows I just showed you-bottom right area of the second palette.  But I have hooded and old wrinkled eyes so you can't see the greens.

Trust that I will try another yellow look and I will rock it next time!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
