Holo Argyle Fail

Well that title pretty much sums it all up now doesn't it?  Besides the houndstooth pattern, I'm a sucker for argyle.  I did some searching for ideas and I think I should have started with something much simpler for my first try.

Since I just can't figure out how to use my set of nail art brushes, I bought some stripers to play with. Figured they'd be easier to use.  I need much more practice!

Since I can't think of anything to talk about right now, let's get right to it.

Here is the silly bottle shot.

I did say holo didn't I? This is Glitter Gal Belgian Chocolate on top with Enchanted Polish Afternoon Delight, Pinky and the Brain and March on the bottom.

The other day, I got an email from someone wanting to pay me $100 for this Pinky polish.  It's from way back when Enchanted was still on Etsy and just starting out.  I bought everything she made and still do.  So I have all of her early stuff.  I told the person, thank you but no thank you.  I'm not selling these for any amount of money right now.  Good to know that someday if I ever get tired of nail polish........GASP at that thought!

I started with a full mani of Afternoon Delight.  This is my perfect nude mannequin hand color.

Doesn't this match my skin tone to perfection?  I've already used this more than all her other holos so far! Next I placed a TON of tape.  This took forever.  Here is that step.

This is where I should have done simpler.  But hindsight is 20/20 right?

I next filled in some of these spaces.  Here is that step.

Yup, this is a mess.  I removed the tape and did some clean up.  Here is that step.

I should have picked better colors as well.  Next I took two different stripers and added the black lines to complete the argyle.  The middle finger came out the best. That was with the Stripe Rite striper, the fat lines was using the Cina art pen. Maybe white would have been better?  Who knows.  It definitely needs improvement!

Still loving that holo sparkle for sure!  This will need repeating because I am not satisfied with this as being the best I can do.

Would you sell a polish for $100?
