Homemade Holo

Now don't get all excited people.  You know how I always do misleading titles.  This is no different.  I did not actually mix my own holo.  I am not joining the indie ranks and making my own polish.  Although if I did, it would rock!

Instead I went back through memory lane and picked out older Essies that haven't been worn since I first bought them.  These were colors we all went nuts for when they first came out.

My parents were here visiting this past weekend and they expect that I will talk about how much they wore me out.  It's true, they wear me out, but it's a good thing. We spent a whole day shopping and my poor little Honda was overflowing with packages.  I'm talking the trunk was full to capacity, the back seat and the floor were stuffed full of items.  I bought new sheets, 500 thread count.  Am washing them as we speak.  They are so soft, I'll be sleeping well later!  Someday I want to own 1000 thread count sheets just to say I sleep on 1000TC sheets!  I bought new pillows as well.  I am very picky about my pillows.  I buy them, don't like them and give them to my parents to use.  This time, I went a little expensive and got the Tempurpedic pillows.  Slept on one last night.  Oh how awesome it was.  Dad said I was snoring just as loud as I always do and I just know I slept well.  Of course, I had to get the bigger size so there'd be room for Checkers, my cat who sleeps curled around my head on the pillow.  The things I do for my babies!

I got all new house plants because mine have seen better days and I've had them for years.  We planted those in the backyard instead of just throwing them out.  I figure they'll either live or not but it's better than just throwing them away.  We will see what happens with them.  I replanted and pruned my Christmas cactus which doesn't give me the blooms I should be getting around the holidays.  Figured new dirt and a trim may help.  We will have to wait til December to see if it worked or not.

It was definitely a day where we contributed big time to the economy!

Here is your silly bottle shot for today.

This is Hits Hefesto, Essie Bobbing for Baubles, Enchanted Polish Ice Castle and Essie School of Hard Rocks.  Remember when those Essies came out?  Admit it, you have these and haven't worn them since!!

I started with Hard Rocks and an accent of Baubles.  These are both dusty cool colors.  One being a deep blue the other a teal.  Here are the starting shots.

Aren't these gorgeous together?  When I chose these colors, the sun was hiding at this point in the mani, it came out full force.  So I changed the course of what I was going to do and did something that came out way cooler.

I added Hits Hefesto to the Hard Rocks.  Hefesto is a holo topcoat.  It will change any color to a holo.  I added a layer of Ice Castle to the Baubles.  Ice Castle is a shimmer top coat that is stunning.  Here is that step.

Look at the holo on that Hefesto!  It's so strong and linear it makes me swoon big time.  I finished this off with my funky starting with the original base colors.  Here are the results.

Isn't this awesome?  I just love that Hefesto makes any polish an instant holo.  I had forgotten about it.  Now that I have revisited it, I just can see all types of polish to make into a holo.  The Ice Castle is stunning as well!  I must use that on different colors as well!

Just made my bed with the new sheets. I can't wait til tonight when I get to sleep on them!  They are a dark smoky grey.  So pretty!

Did you help the economy lately?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
