An Oldie but a Goodie

Back when I was just getting into polish around 2004, I went to the salon to have my nails done as a treat every couple of weeks or so.  I would then buy whatever dark vampiness I wore that day so I could wear it again in the future.  Most of these were Essies simply because that's what this particular salon I frequented carried.  I have quite a few of these old and maybe rare Essies. I never really checked to see if the ones I have are HTF or not.

I decided to pull out one of these oldies and relive the love I had for this gorgeous color.  Don't get me wrong, I have other brands that have similar color like this Essie, but none as gorgeous.  I may just rock more of these old Essies and have a little walk down memory lane.

I am still dealing with these cicada bugs.  I got up the other morning and realized something was wrong.  I had just woken up, so I was fuzzy to reality.  Then it hit me. Silence.........ah the sweet sound of silence.  Maybe the cicadas had gone back underground for another 17 years.  I stood at my window and just listened.  It was magical.  Lasted about 10 minutes and the noise was back.  Oh well, I had my glorious 10 minutes!  Later that same day, I got home only to find many of these ugly things on my back deck.  I think I saw some of them smoking  cigarettes.  Even the bugs are having more sex than I am.  Now that's a sad, sad state of affairs right there!  Damn bugs!

Tangent over. Here is the silly bottle shot for today.

This is Essie Alligator Purse, Clarins 230 and OPI Germanicure.  Oh yeah, I'm reliving the Alligator Purse.

I did a full mani with this gorgeous burnt orange cream.  The sun was cooperating and I was so happy with this color once again.  Even after all these years and all the polish I have.  This little Essie still has it.  Here are the starting shots.

Is this not gorgeous?  Admit it.  This is a stunning color.  Next I stamped using MoYou plate 94, which is the other plate I was given for review using Sally Hansen Whirlwind white.  Here is that step.

I used the yin yang on my thumb, but since I had just done that recently, that was more for me!  This plate has all sorts of symbols. Peace sign, male female symbols, yin yang and the word love in script. I thought about adding the love word under the peace sign on my accent nail, but realized I didn't leave enough room!

I next added a layer of Clarins 230.  I can't get enough of the sparkle this gives. I can't just let it sit on the shelf unused and lonely.  Here is that step.

OMG! Are you kidding me right now?  Do you see that sparkle??? Swooooooooon.

I topped this off with my funky in Germanicure.  Here are the results.

Trust me, I could not stop staring at my nails for the entire time I wore this.  All the different colored sparkles that just aren't showing up here and the burnt orange of this Essie.  I am one happy camper.

Do you still love one of your very first polish purchases?  Does it still make you as happy as it did the first time?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
