I wanted red.....

I've been seeing so many gorgeous red manis out there lately that it made me realize that I hadn't done a red vampy mani in quite a while.  This started out good, but didn't end up where I wanted it.

But first, a very funny cat story for you.  Last night, I was trying to sleep when my big boy Sam started meowing like mad.  I mean he was just loud and obnoxious. I tried calling to him to come to bed, but he just kept up the noise.  It got so obnoxious that I finally got up to see what his problem was.  There he was, sitting proudly in the bedroom doorway, a present at his feet.

Can you guess?  It was one of those gecko lizards that sometimes get in my house in the summer. I had noticed when I came home from work, that he was otherwise occupied and thought maybe he'd found one.  But thought nothing of it until later when he presented his love for me in a tailless lizard. The poor thing had had his tail ripped off and looked dead.  I got the tongs and paper towel and picked up the poor creature and put him outside.  Turns out, he wasn't dead, just traumatized!  I never saw him again.  I gave Sam a great big hug and told him he was a good boy. Of course, in his mind he was showing he loves me so I couldn't very well be mad at him!  Those lizards grow their tails back anyway right?

I just remember how proud he looked sitting in the doorway last night.  Ah yes, I have the love of my cat.

Back to the mani that was red. Here is your bottle shot for today.

This is A England Perceval, Avalon and Girly Bits January Morning.

I started with Perceval with an accent of Avalon.  This is more purple in real life.  I haven't learned Photoshop enough yet to play with color etc.  Here are the starting shots.

Isn't Perceval stunning?  I assure you I will be wearing this again.  I next stamped with Sally Hansen Whirlwind White, of which I finished my first bottle of polish ever, and plate SDP O.  Here is that step.

Pretty cool design right?  But it covers up the base color a little too much I think.  I next added some dots with the same two colors.  Here is that step.

Next I added a layer of January Morning for sparkle and topped it off with my funky. Here are the final results.

See what I mean about not being red anymore?  It's more red white and blue when it's supposed to be purple and red.  So I need to revisit Perceval and Avalon in a different way.  Of course this is a cool mani, just not the vibe I had in mind at the start.

So what does your pet do to show their love for you?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
