My spin on spooky-

I've been seeing all these really great Halloween manis all over the blogs lately and I thought I'd get in on the action.  I had seen one I really liked on I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous.  Amy has gotten really good at creating great designs and I wanted to borrow from her idea here.

I just love spider webs.  I refuse to clean them off my porch until winter when all the spiders are gone.  I think they are a wonder of nature and really beautiful. Spiders on the other hand give me the willies. Especially living in the woods, I have really huge Cujo spiders that come in my house.  Picture if you will, me with my kitchen gloves on, with tongs and a paper towel going after Cujo the killer spider.  It's really the only reason to have a man around! Unfortunately, I have to take care of it myself!

Yes, I digress once again.  If you are new to my blog, I tend to ramble and add personal stories to my blog. Feel free to skip over to a happy pink blog!  Anyway, I loved Amy's mani and thought I could do my own spin on it.

First, the requisite bottle shot.  Now mind you, it is pouring rain (which I love) so I have no sun for proper lighting.

Oh yeah! This is my first foray into the land of Illamasqua.  That is Taint on the left and Orly Liquid Vinyl on the right.  This Taint is from the current collection and features a 'rubber' finish.  It is a cross between matte and shiny.  I prefer shiny so I added my normal top coat.  The finish was pretty cool though, but without the sun, my pictures just weren't translating it.

Did I forget to mention Taint is a brown? Oh yes, another brown for me! This is the color of milk chocolate, or cafe au lait.  It's sublime.  The Illamasqua formula was a dream to work with.  I am really loving it.

Now on to the spooky part.  I used Konad special white and started with the BM13 spider web, then added the spider stamp on the same plate with special black.  I did my accent nail with Orly Liquid Vinyl and plate BM224 for the creepy pumpkin stamp.  Of course, I just had to finish with my funky french.  It just wouldn't be a Fingers mani without it!

I took the last two pictures a couple of days later when the sun was out!

I have to say, this took a lot longer than I normally spend on one mani. But the end result is so freakin cool I can't stop looking at it!  I may not be good at free hand-but I sure can start trying different color stamps at the same time!  I am all sorts of excited over this prospect.

Seems like I may be getting some mojo back in my design ideas.  I want to also make sure you guys check out Amy's blog-she really is doing some great stuff!
