Do you ever do something when you aren't really thinking and then break the item you were messing with? I did this earlier this morning before the sun came up. Went outside in my bathrobe to feed the birds and the bird bath was frozen solid-like always in winter. I had my screwdriver with me as I had just washed the bird feeder and was screwing the parts back together. I thought hey I can use my screwdriver to pick the ice so I can water the bird bath.
You know what happened right?
You guessed it. I broke the damn thing. Punched a hole right through the base with the screwdriver. Dammit! So I had to buy a new one this morning and it won't be here for 6 days. I grabbed a glass pie dish and put that in the bird bath and am hoping the birds will accept it for the moment. I did need a new bird bath as mine was pretty beat up but damn I hate when I do something stupid and end up paying for it!
Had I waited and used hot water, I wouldn't be out $40!
Ah the lessons of life learned today.
