I'm a dotting failure!

You are reading this post 8 days after I wrote it.  I wrote this while in the midst of packing for a 10 day vacation.  I also painted my nails during this process and they aren't the best work I've ever done.  WARNING!  I hate packing! It's so hard to figure out what is necessary and what isn't.  This year, I can't go without my nail polish arsenal.

I finally did indeed get my order of Nails Inc polishes.  So today I am showing you The Serpentine.  But before we get to that, here is the vacation bottle shot.

See? My polish is all packed and ready to go! This polish once again is a dream! I love this stuff! However, my camera is doing silly things to the color.  It's darker and more navy in real life.  I am almost at enough points to get a free upgrade digital camera.  I'm at 12,700 points and I need like 14,000.  How I'm earning them, I have no idea. I just found it on my bank's website and was excited that I'm that close to an upgrade to 14MP! WOOHOO! Here are the indoor and outdoor shots.

I recently bought a set of 10 dotting tools in various sizes.  I figured now is as good a time as any to try it out. I thought if I started with the biggest one, I could make one big dot.  Man was I wrong! I have no idea how to load the tool, do you drip it on? Do you dip it in the bottle? Do you use the brush to put it on the tool? I have no idea. So once again, I am a nail art failure and it's freakin' dots! How stupid does this make me feel that I can't do one big stupid dot on my nail?!?! Pretty damn stupid I tell you.  You may want to avert your eyes here, it ain't pretty.  I used another Nails Inc Palace Gardens Terrace for the blob and the funky french. This is a lighter brown color.  I think they go nicely together.

The outdoor color is not even close to the real color.  The indoor ones are much closer, but still not quite right.  Why am I incapable of making dots? Can anybody out there help me? I see all the tutorials, but none show the loading of the tool, the application etc.  All I see are the completed steps! I need my awesome nail art friends to help me out.  I'm almost at the point of giving up and giving away my tools.

Please tell me I'm not this stupid and pathetic! Is there any hope for me yet?
