Bettina Yellow, Go Green, Cobalt and Believe

Can you tell it's a Bettina day?  I haven't played with my beloved Bettina in a long time.

So I told you guys a few posts ago that I was going to try the dry watermarbling thing on plastic wrap.  Guess what? I don't have any plastic wrap.  Whoops.  I do have plastic ziploc baggies so I pulled out one of those and tried to follow the video and it was a huge fail.  The colors wouldn't marble together even when I globbed it on the zippie bag.  I tried it a couple of times.

What I decided to do instead was to make a bunch of polish decals and place them randomly on my nails.  Now that was an interesting thing.  I'm definitely going to have to try that again.

Just got the message that my Chaos holos are delayed.  Gee ya think? It had better be here on Monday or I'm gonna call and yell at someone.

Since I have nothing to talk about, let's get to it.

This is Bettina Yellow, Believe, Cobalt and Go Green.

I started with all Yellow.  I needed some sunshine as it was freezing rain and snow the day I did this.

Such a gorgeous yellow!  Now before I polished with this, I took the other three colors and painted squares of each on the outside of my ziploc baggie.  I need to buy plastic wrap! I topped that off with topcoat and left it to dry while I did the yellow.

After an hour, I took those squares and peeled them off the baggie and cut random shapes out of it. Sorry I forgot to take pictures! Then I placed them randomly on my nails.  I then added a thick layer of topcoat.  It's not pretty close up-I think I made the decals too thick, but from a distance it's pretty cool!

Definitely need some more practice with this technique, but it came out pretty cool!  Gives me ideas for other things.

Still can't figure out why I couldn't dry watermarble.  Dammit.

EP Seven Nation Army, Paint It Black

So after I failed miserably with that gorgeous holo last post, there was no way I was going to do some difficult mani.  I was mad and didn't want naked nails.

So get this.  Woke up the other day to an email from some damn app called "Find My Friends" and an ex looking for me.  WTF! And you wonder why I spend a majority of my time on the internet as Fingers.  This is not what I want to happen.  And I'm mad that this stupid app not only has my name, but my personal email account.

It's scary what's out there and what information can be found out about you.

So my damn Chaos holos did not come as promised by the stupid USPS.  Yet it arrived in town the evening before and stated it would be delivered the next day.  All I can see is that it hasn't been scanned or moved in over 24 hours.  I was all ready to do the happy dance and now I'm stuck waiting.

OH and I found a new thing to try and play with.  Just placed an order on Amazon.  It's adult coloring books and something called Zentangle.  Now for $50 I can buy the official Zentangle box-huge no unless I really get into it. And no it's not naked people coloring books-not that kind of adult book you people out there with the dirty minds.

Yeah I'm looking at you.......

HEHEHEHE! I thought that a tiny bit myself when someone told me about it.  It's actually very detailed very intricate designs for adults to color.  I just ordered a book and some colored pencils as I just don't see myself as a gel pen person.  I also bought a beginner Zentangle book to see if I can draw worth a damn.

Right now I cannot.  At least on my nails.

Oh and this reminded me of how much I hate removing glitter since I have to use non acetone remover.  Took me almost a half hour to get this off!

Jaded Nail Co Custom Holo

Took a break from the Plated meal delivery service this week.  Just didn't feel like it and didn't have the money. But there's a very good reason why I was broke.

You all know how badly I've wanted the entire Chaos & Crocodiles Secret Agent holo set? Well there was an auction of sorts on Facebook and this was not just for the ten holos in the set, but also had the limited edition Operation Vegas holo in it too! I outbid all the people and really only paid what the original set of ten price was. So I didn't get screwed there either and I got the LE one too!  It's supposed to come in the mail today.

I cannot freakin wait!

I had plans for today's mani.  I was going to wow you all with more double processed stamping. However, I messed it up so bad that I actually removed it all and started over.  You all know that I normally refuse to do that and usually show you my fails.  This was so bad I couldn't even do that!

But I just had to show you the gorgeous custom holo I was wearing before I ruined it!

Pipedream Polish Happy Hour

It snowed again.

The world around me stopped because of it.  I still had to go to work.  I'm one of the 'essential' personnel that has to show up.  Even though no patients show up-I still have to show up.  I've told you before, as long as I can get out of my driveway, it's all good.  I got another four inches or so, but again it was the dry fluffy stuff easy to clean off and drive through.

The height of the snow just happened to be during rush hour this time.  I went out and cleaned off my car and the area around it then got ready as usual for work.  An hour later, when it was time to go, there was already another inch of snow on my car.  So I had to clean it off once again.  Once I got on the highway, it wasn't too bad driving at all.  I got behind a tractor trailer and let him plow the way.

By the time work was over, the roads were clear and a lot of it had already melted as it was above freezing that day.

Oh and the door on my mailbox broke.  The doodads holding the door on finally rusted off.  My ex husband and I had installed it brand new 13 years ago and at that time, some damn kids hit it with something and put a huge dent in it.  Damn does that make me sound like an old fart!  Well I wasn't about to pay for another one so it's had a big dent in it this whole time.

I went to Home Depot and picked out a new one, same size, but brown instead of the forest green that I have now.  I just have to wait for a day not below freezing, a day without snow or rain and hope that I can install it myself.  The dude at the store said all I should have to do is remove the old screws, put the new one on and screw it in with new screws.  I don't own a drill and this normally would have been something I'd have asked my dad to do for me.

I figured if I'm going to pretty up the post with a new post office box, I'd paint the house numbers with fresh black paint so it's easier to see.  That's never been done.

All right, I promised you a new stamping technique today.  So let's get to it.

This has a lovely shimmer in it that you can sort of see in my pointer finger.

Next, what you do is load two different stamp designs on the stamper before stamping your nail. What this does is create a cool illusion whereas the first design only is printed on top of the second design.  It's hard to explain.  Let me show you.

This is far from perfect.  But can you see how the black flower is only on the white pattern and not on the base? That's the double processed stamping technique that Lacquer Lockdown came up with. Actually, I just read her blog post and she says it's from someone else, but I don't know who!

The next time I tried this I was a huge failure.  I don't get why and I'm not quite sure how to do it better than what I'm doing.  I figured since I'm a damn good stamper, it would be easy.

It's not.

Next I'm going to try the watermarble thingy but on plastic wrap not water.
