Brown Layering Bonanza

I have gotten several comments lately that people are totally excited over my layering and are clamoring for more.  While I should be happy about this, the pessimist in me wonders if that is because you are tired of my stamping?  Is this the case or are you guys really digging my layering combinations and I'm just being silly?

All I know, is that layering is fun and actually a lot easier and faster than stamping.  While I will never give up stamping (never fear Sarah!), I am having fun playing with layers.

Today we are having a brown fest.  You should know by now it is my favorite color.  If you don't, there's just no hope for you!

First up, as you know, the required silly bottle shot.

This is Finger Paints Twisted, Bettina Suede and China Glaze Midtown Magic.  I bought this China Glaze when it came out this past fall but have yet to wear it.  I decided today was the day.  Bummer is, the sun was hiding and I can't show you its true fabulousness.  Here are your shots.

Midtown Magic is a deep dark brown with multi colored shimmer.  It really is very pretty in the sun.  I should have worn this much sooner.  I then added a layer of Finger Paints Twisted which is a multi colored flakie and topped it off with Bettina Suede.  Suede is a lovely tan creme.  Here are your shots.  The sun shots were taken three days later so excuse the tip wear.

Normally I don't point out flaws.  I hate when other people do that.  Most of the time no one will notice unless you point it out.  I comment that on blogs all the time.  Don't point out your flaws, people will not notice.  But I think this is funny and love to share funnies.

Go back and look at my pointer finger.  Notice the chunk missing?  I had no idea I had even done this until the next morning.  I figured I did it in my sleep. Just chewed a chunk of polish off my nail. But then, writing this post, I realized the chunk is there when I took these pictures right after I did my nails! So the whole day, I had a chunk missing and never noticed it. How silly is that?

Figured you'd get a kick out of that.  At least this mani rocks! I just love brown and wanted to play up the shimmer with the flakies.  Didn't it come out awesome?

So tell me people, are you tired of my stamping or is my layering really that great?

I thought red and blue made purple?

Today I decided I wanted to be vampy and  sexy.  I had gotten a new Rescue Beauty Lounge polish and I was dying to try it.  But I also had a new blue Bettina I wanted to try.  I thought hey blue and red make purple right? Maybe it does but not today and not on my blog.

First up, your required silly bottle shot.

This is RBL Killa Red and Bettina Zircon.  Killa Red is a stunning blue based red creme.  I have no idea why my pointer finger looks so much darker than the rest. Here are your shots.

Isn't is beautiful? I just love reds like these.  So vampy!  I then used Red Angel plate 111 and Zircon. Zircon is a metallic true blue and I was hoping together they'd make purple.  But that didn't happen. Although the results are still awesome and I love it!! Here are your shots.

I am totally loving this! The pattern showed up so much better in the sun then in regular light.  I'm kind of glad it didn't make purple.  Now you get to see both colors as they are!  Can't wait to use Zircon as its own mani!

So what do you guys think?  Is this a keeper or not?

Another Subtle Mani-but with Holo Goodness!

I am starting to get really uptight about all these subtle manis I keep producing.  Why am I not learning my own lesson??  Oh well-at least this one has a beautiful holo in it.  You just can't go wrong with a holo right?

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Hits No Olimpo Hera and Bettina Ocean.  Both of these are gorgeous teals.  We will see what my camera does to them!  Also behind the polish is my cats favorite toy.  Actually the only toy they will play with that is not a paper bag or a box.  It is similar to those old weeble wobbles from back in the day.  You can't tip it over and there is a feather on the top which isn't in this picture but believe me, they go nuts for this one!

I started with Hera and did my accent nail with Ocean. Here are the results.

Yup you guessed it.  My camera messed up these colors and made them too blue.  They are true blue green teals and lovely.  I just love holos.  Aren't those rainbows stunning?  I then decided to stamp with XL plate A and did my usual funky french.  I really like how this came out.  Here are your shots.

The indoor shot is actually the most accurate color wise.  I am loving the sparkle showing through the design.  Isn't this awesome? It's also a lot lighter in color than I have been doing lately.  Trying something a little different!

So what do you think?  Is this awesome or what?

Thoughts out there?

Nine layers of awesome!

Yes my friends-I am still on a layering kick! I just can't get off this train yet.  But soon!

Today I decided to really go all out and just pile on the layers and see what happens.  I think it actually came out pretty damn cool until it was time to take it off that is!  Two polish fell off in sheets from the thickness of it! Ah the price we pay to look fabulous. Am I right ladies??

Recently, Rescue Beauty Lounge held another Bring It Back sale.  I scooped up two Catherines and a Killa Red.  I found out that someone dissed Ji on her Facebook page saying that the original Anne was different from the re-released Anne.  This of course is bullsh*t. Ji is famous for her high standards and high quality. She would NEVER put out a color that was different than the original.  Because of this, she will not be doing any more BIBs!

Now why are there always haters out there?  Some random assh*le had to go and ruin it for everybody.  I tweeted Ji and told her not to listen to them-but I think the damage has already been done.  It truly breaks my heart because she puts out such amazing polish.

Here we have the silly bottle shot.

This is RBL Catherine H, Lynnderella Connect the Dots, Essie Pure Pearlfection and Color Club Lumin-icecent.  I have no idea why I passed up this Catherine H the first time it was offered.  Must have hit my head or something.  This is a dusky periwinkle blue with stunning multicolor shimmer.  Here are your shots.

Of course there was no sun when I did this mani.  So frustrating that I couldn't show you its glory!  Anywho, I then did two layers of  CTD, two layers of Essie and topped it off with my funky french in Lumin-icecent. Nine layers total, including base and top coats.  Are you ready?

I wanted to play up the hidden shimmer in the CTD and I think Essie Pure Pearlfection really does the trick.  Isn't this awesome?  I am so in love with Connect the Dots it should be a crime!

Removal on this was really tough-I was not a happy camper when that happened.  But oh how pretty this is!

Anyone out there who loves Ji like I do-let's start a campaign of love to counteract the haters! You can tweet her @rescuebeauty or go to her Facebook page and tell her you love her!

Any thoughts out there?
