Holy Hell I'm Dying Here!

I saw on All Lacquered Up about Nails Inc coming to Sephora. I had to try it because she always raves so about it. So I ordered up the autumn set of fall colors (natch) and one of the top coat. Michelle always says it's the cat's meow. Well let me tell you- she does not tell a lie! This top coat promises to be touch dry in 45 seconds. Yes people I said 45 seconds! I kid you not. It also says it leaves a wet looking shine that I'm all about.

I was in a total rush this morning, had to get to hair dye day. I picked the deep red color called St Pancras. Yes it's not the best name but holy hell it's the most pretty color red I've seen in awhile. I could have stopped at one coat it was so awesome in it's pigmentation. Then I slapped on this new top coat and I kid you not, this sh*t was dry to the touch in 45 seconds. I'm not going to lie, I did not set a timer so I can't officially say it was 45 seconds. Next time I will. What I will say is that it was damn fast. I finished my nails and 10 minutes later I was out the door.

Now others may do this all the time, but for me, I'm one who has to sit for an hour to dry or else I mess my nails up. So for me to feel confident enough to leave after 10 minutes is HUGE for me. In the back of my mind, I figured I'd mess them up and have to come home and start over but nay that did not happen. I do have a dent in one nail but only I see that and a coat of top coat will get rid of that. As for the shine? These babies are blinging! I don't get this kind of finish with Seche and always end up adding a layer of CND Super Shiney to get the shine I like. I'll say it again. Holy Hell this sh*t is awesome- and only costs $10!

If you hadn't already guessed, I already placed another order with Sephora for more top coat and more colors. This is now my favorite brand of all time (well it's not RBL) but still! This red was so perfect and pretty, I didn't even feel the urge to stamp over it. That plus I was feeling supremely lazy! But seriously, it's so pretty, I'm gonna let it speak for itself.

I also cut off 3" of my hair. I gave up trying to grow it out. Was too hot, way too much work and just couldn't take it anymore. The bonus? My nails match my hair today! Have you guys ever done that?!? The other bad news is my hairdresser told me that the texture of my hair has changed with age and my hormones and I now have little orphan Annie curly frizzy hair growing in! Absolutely hate it! Am considering a Keratin treatment to get my lovely smoothness back, but it's expensive. Will have to see how pissed I get at the frizz! Yes totally random TMI for you today!

Wanted to also show you that after 3.5 days, this polish is showing minuscule tip wear, no shrinkage like Seche does and is still glorious.  I am one who adds a layer of top coat everyday.  I'm addicted to shine! This is even after a lot of typing!

It Looks Like Lizard Eyes

I got my new China Glaze Metro collection goodies and decided today was a good day to start to try them out.  My eye immediately went to Trendsetter.  This is a funky yellow brown color with tiny gold shimmer.  I don't have anything else like it. That gets me excited.

This went on nicely.  Nice formula, good opacity.  The color is not going to be for everyone.  It's that funky! I did inside and outside shots for you.

Don't you just love this color? Look at that shimmer?? Such awesomeness! Of course, being me, I just had to funky it up. So I grabbed another new China Glaze Westside Warrior and stamp plate M 61 and went to town.  Then I added my funky french to the mix.  I thought this green would go nicely with the yellow.  I almost chose a brown, but that'll be for next time.

Lately, people at work have been coming up to me asking to see what I have on my nails that day.  The reactions to this one were comical.  One coworker said it looks like reptile skin. Another said it looks like lizard eyes.  Lizard eyes? I see it now-I didn't before.  Kind of makes me think this could be my first nail fail!

I'm going to let you guys decide.  Is this a nail fail or not?

I'm Matte About Blue

Do you guys remember the show 'Mad About You' with Helen Hunt and Paul Reiser? Man I used to seriously LOVE that show. Does anyone know if they show reruns anywhere?

Obviously this has nothing to do with polish.  As usual, I am babbling on about unrelated topics.  This is how my mind works.  It's a scary place in there!  Excuse the pun for a title.  I thought about "I've been deflowered by a matte" , or "A matte virgin no longer" like my holo post.  Then my mind went seriously off on a tangent and we won't get into that here!

This is also my first matte polish as well as my first Orly.  Why have I never tried Orly before? Where does one usually buy Orly? I got mine online, after seeing it on someone. But I'm sure there are local stores that carry it.  Can someone let me in on that please?

So I give you Orly Blue Suede matte.  I was hesitant about trying a matte.  I have read that they are a pain in the ass.  You can't use base coat and they are streaky messes.  But this color looked so awesome, I had to try it.  I went ahead and still did a base coat.  As you know, blue polish stains everything, as you will see in my pictures.  I dread getting this stuff off! I'm gonna but sporting Smurf hands!  The formula on this was awesome.  I gave extra time for the base coat to dry.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Here it is by itself.

It takes getting used to.  I'm such a shiny nail person, that this was a shock to me!  I then grabbed plate M79 and my new OPI Swimsuit...Nailed It (Damn you Pam at Girly Bits!) Pam just had this on her blog, and I had to have it! Here it is stamped and funky frenched with the OPI.

I think this is sweeeeet! I love the contrast between the shiny and the matte, don't you? But of course, I just had to go one more step and see what this would look like all shiny.  So I added a layer of Seche Vite.

I have to say, that I liked it before the top coat.  I thought the contrasting finishes was way cooler.  Still these colors are awesome together.  I definitely need to try more mattes.

What do you guys think? And do you get Smurf hands after blue polish?

My new look!

Just a quick post-no you are not in the Twilight zone-this is still my blog, but I funked it out! I hate that someone else had my background and they didn't get my subtle hint to change theirs.  So yes, I am on my third background and design.  It does bum me out that the pretty leaves don't show on my ipad or iphone, but that's a small price to pay for a new design.

I think it's a very pretty new look.  Don't you think?
