Classic French, Again

The nail polish ban hasn't happened yet.  They are now saying March 20, but I'm still fighting and I heard that there are doctors just now finding out about this and are pissed big time.  I am so hoping they cause a ruckus and help me in my quest to stop this from happening.

Since Ms Princess has left, they have hired several new navigators and I have to say the atmosphere in my office is now so much better than it ever has been.  It's pleasant and we all get along and laugh and help each other.  It's really good.

We are working on getting the different cancer conferences more streamlined and make changes so we have more time for our patients.  The downside is, the boss has decided we need every other week meetings to do this.

Now there is one new hire who is not in my office whom I have already nicknamed Tinkerbell.  She is all about how someday she is going to be the leader of the navigators and she just doesn't seem to do any work.  She just seems to walk around and come up with ideas of things we can do.

She also went to a patient's funeral and I want to know if she was on the clock or not.  I'm all for going if you want to, but not to get paid for it.  Thing is, I can't ask about that.  Or I haven't figured out a way to ask that yet.

So yesterday's meeting she was the one who wouldn't stop talking.  You guys know. Any job you are in there's always that one person who is over the top enthusiastic to the point of nausea.  She was just all about we can do this and we can do that and I'd really like to do this.  But not once was it about the patient.  Not once was it about the work she is supposed to be doing.  And since she is one of the doctor's pets, my boss really has her hands tied and can't do anything about it.

There is a new doctor we hired doing a new cancer technique and there is a poster about it in the clinic.  And her face on the poster.  But not the doctor who does the technique. Does that make any kind of sense????  She was also on TV interviewed about this and again, when are you taking care of your patients?

I'm actually in a good place at work at the moment.  It's been so toxic for so many years, it's nice to actually not hate going to work.

Now, for my classic french, I use my Essie Nude Beach and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

Enchanted Polish October 2014

Last post I hinted that I needed my time off for something other than the flu.  Those who pay attention will remember that I go to Myrtle Beach every year in February.  That's another reason why this blog has been neglected.

This year, the weather was amazing.  Blue sky, no clouds and low 70sF for the daytime highs.  Mom and I were in heaven.

Here was our typical day.  Get up, watch the sunrise, which if I'm being truthful, I missed every day, but mom saw it.  Then we would sit in the sun on the balcony reading for 3.5 hours.  Then we would go shopping and have lunch somewhere then either back in the sun, or I would assume the position laid back in the lazy boy chair.

This lasted for me an entire week.  There is nothing else like that kind of time off.

Last year, mom and I got lost trying to find one of the Tanger outlet malls.  We were throwing the F bombs around and swore this year it would be different.  Well it wasn't.  We got lost again and couldn't find the stupid mall.  The issue was, the map was misleading.  It tells you to go south when you're supposed to go north.  So it wasn't our fault this time!  I put the directions in my iphone so next year we will know where we are going.

We definitely spent money.  I always stock up as the outlet stores have such good prices.  This year I found dress pants called envelope culottes.  They are calf long culottes but there are two panels of fabric and the way they are stitched, the panels fold over each other.  It's hard to describe.  I bought three pair as I loved them so much.

The issue however, is when you sit down the panels split apart and you can see my whole leg! So it was a bit of a pain to keep messing with the pants as I wore them at work this week.

Here are two of the outfits I wore to work. If you zoom in on the black pair, you can see the two panels and how they fold over each other.

I was just sending these to my mom so I wasn't posing therefore, had to take my face out! The other issue I found was my knee high hose ain't cutting it.  When I walk, the panels sort of float apart and you can see the hose don't go all the way up. LOL. I need thigh high, but damn I hate those things.

I then stocked up on underwear at the Jockey store.  They have a new way of measuring you for your bra size. It's a kind of 3D measurement thing.  I'll link it here for you to check out.  The first time I put it on, it was so freakin tight I was like nope this is going back.  But the store lady said bras are supposed to be that tight.  I've been wearing the wrong size all my life.  I've since worn them a lot and really like them.

Then we went to the bookstore.  Mom bought like 15 books and I bought like 17 or so.  Yes we are serious book fiends. Last thing I got was a bunch of $6 shirts from Forever 21 to sleep in since my acne skin care bleached the crap out of all my jammies.

Oh and I made it my mission to get a serious sunburn/tan.  I used mom's oil and I was red! But now it's faded to a nice hint of color.  My forehead got burned and I have a rash now, but it's all good.

It was a really good time.  I can't wait for next year.

This polish I'm about to show you is much more gorgeous in real life.  I could not get a good picture.

Here is EP October 2014.

Colors by Llarowe Rezipped, In the Navy

Today I woke up in the mood to blog.  I had six sets of photos to go through, crop and watermark and now it's time for the writing.

I had to read my last post to see what the hell I was talking about as it has been so long, I had forgotten. February 1 was a long time ago!

Let me catch you up on what's been going on in the Fingers' life.

First, I had the absolute worst flu of my life.  I am not kidding you whatsoever.  It started out with me just feeling very tired.  Then the fever hit-102F.  Then I was up all night with aches and joint pain and I could not find a comfortable position.  All night I moaned and rolled around and I swear I almost called the ambulance I felt so bad.

Got up the next morning and laid on my couch and slept all day.  I didn't even have the TV on, which for me, it's always on at least for noise.  This flu lasted a week.  I had read later on in the paper, that this strain of flu this year is one of the worst.

I can attest to that!

One of my coworkers told me after that when she listened to my call out phone call that she felt so sorry for me as I sounded so freakin bad.

Stupid thing is, my job makes me get the flu shot and it didn't save me at all.  If you aren't aware of this, the government decides months in advance what flu strain they think will be the one for the next flu season.  So right now, they are randomly picking which strain they think will be the one for next Fall and Winter 2017.  This is so the manufacturers have time to make it.

It's all a freakin guess people! This is why I have always refused the flu shot.  If they came up with a way to know for sure and not be guessing, you bet, sign me up for the shot.  But for a guess? Nope and it was proven to me this flu season when I got the flu.

I believe I read that the flu shot this year has been 50% accurate.  I'm better off playing the lottery.

Now long before I got the flu, I did my nails with a gorgeous set of blues.

First off, the base of Colors by Llarowe Rezipped.

How awesome is this combo???  Yes I freehand the funky.  Hold the brush and roll your nail.  It's the best way to free hand this.

The bad thing about the flu besides having the flu??? I ended up using up all my time off.  Find out why I needed it next post!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Rescue Beauty Lounge Diddy Mow

Yesterday I was out in the yard raking like a mad man.  It was only 47F out but the sun was shining and I had gotten a wild hair up my butt to go work outside.  I had told myself I wanted to clean up the front yard area under the trees that are there.  There are so many branches and layers of leaves that I have NEVER raked up in my fifteen years of living in my house.  So it was time.

I told myself that the trees will be able to breathe better without all that crap on the ground at the roots.  Of course this is not true, as trees survive in the woods without anyone raking, but it's what I like to think.  I did the same thing years ago to my backyard tree and I like to think it's a much happier tree.  Since I did it to my back tree, it's way easier to just rake up the leaves from that Fall.

It's hardest the first time as you're raking up years of stuff.  I got more raked up than I thought I would in the hour I allotted for this project yesterday.  But then I thought to myself, sh*t, I wish I had someone to now take all these piles of leaves back to my woods behind my house to dump.

I got my tarp and just piled on the leaves then dragged it up my front yard to my back yard to the woods behind my house.  It was heavy and hard for me to do and I ended up doing three trips of the full tarp and still have a ton of piles in the front yard to pick up.

Trust I wore myself out big time.

One day later this week, I'll need to go out and finish what I started.  Dammit. It'll look a lot nicer once it's done for sure.  Then I'll need to rake the front yard at some point as I haven't done that yet and it's not good for the grass to leave the stuff there.

Ah the joys of home ownership.

I just can't believe I've lived here fifteen years so far.  I does not seem like it's been that long.  I won't be here forever.  I'm just here for now.  And now has turned into fifteen years.  I had a random realtor call me the other day as I had tried to sell my house back in 2008 to move to Vermont but the housing market had crashed at that time.

Dude asked me if I still wanted to sell my house.  Don't you think I'd still have a for sale sign out front? For right now, I can't move as my job's health insurance is way too good to give up.  But if my family needs me, I'll be there no matter what.

One big project I want to save for is to fix the ceiling of my front porch.  It's a horrible mess with big paint chips etc.  I've paid three times to paint it but the issue is, they put inside drywall on the outside ceiling so the moisture is not letting the paint stick.  I haven't gotten an estimate yet as I'm afraid of what it will cost.

But I think I need to know as I just can't stand to look at it and there is a risk of black mold that is not good for your health.  My poor neighbor literally had mushrooms growing out of her bathroom wall next to her toilet as there was a hidden leak and eventually, mushrooms.

Can you imagine???? Sitting there on the throne, looking over and mushrooms are growing.  I'd freak out big time over that sh*t.

OK enough rambling.  Today we have an oldie but a damn goodie in my book.  RBL Diddy Mow.
