Rescue Beauty Lounge Revamp

Remember when I got my new car and wore Chanel Malice as matching polish to my car's color? Well that was a wrong color choice.  You see, my car looks black most of the time.  It's only in certain sunlight that you can see the red sparkle that is it's true color.

I have found the perfect match polish to my car.

Speaking of my brand new, factory made for me car..........

I went to hair dye day as I do every 28 days without fail.  I told my hairdresser that I was bored and to do what she wanted with my hair, just to not get me fired. Remember when we did the pink stripes and I got called to the boss's office and told to remove the pink?

Yeah it's like that.

So she came up with this gorgeous deeper more purple color than we had been doing mixed with a light purple scattered about with foils. It really is amazing.

So I was leaving there all feeling fine as my hair was on fleek.  I went to the grocery store. One that I rarely go to.  Rarely.  I get the few things I needed and came out pushing my grocery cart when I got to my car and my jaw dropped.

Can you see where I'm headed here people?

Yup, some a**hole hit my car while it was parked and left without leaving a note.  I was pissed but at the same time I was crying as this type of sh*t happens to me way too often.  Every new car I've gotten someone else has done something to it.  I've NEVER caused an accident.

The dent was on the back driver's side bumper.  The paint was scraped, the seam that was tabbed together was pushed out and sticking up.  My car is not even three months old people!!!! This is so not OK.

I went straight back into the store and got the manager, but of course there is no security cameras on the parking lot.  So I called my insurance, who has yet to call me back and spent an hour in the body shop this past Friday getting an estimate for the damage.

Works out to be cheaper by replacing the bumper instead of trying to fix the damage.  With the paint job and labor the cost is $1150 that someone else caused not me! But I have to pay for it via my insurance.  It's f*cked up is what that is.

Remember the dents I got the day I brought my car home from the hail storm? I asked for an estimate on those and for two tiny dents, it's $100.  So now I have to get a rental car for a good four days and get my three month old 5600 miles so far on it new car fixed.

Whoever hit my car will pay one day with Karma.  It's a b*tch.

Now let's look at the polish that truly matches the color of my car.  RBL Revamp.  Not sure I've ever worn this before!  HAHAHAH! Oh and RBL no longer is in business. Her early polishes were stunning and not five free so the chemical smell wafting from this polish was quite strong indeed!

Here you can see that it mostly looks black.  But if you look at it sideways, you can see the red sparkle inside. This is the color of my new car.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Custom Green Holo

I've showed you this holo before.  It is not available for sale.  It was a custom holo made for me and sent all the way from Australia to the USA.  I simply love it.

The new season of South Park has started.  SkankHunt42 is on the loose.  Freakin hilarious.  I love how South Park is so on point with their shows.  Their shows all have to do with what's going on in society at the time.

This is all about social media and the mean people out there who send nasty messages to strangers. I have not been immune to these messages.  I just could never imagine sending something mean to someone I don't know.  Or even someone I do know.

It's just not me.

Both of my cats are doing much better.  It amazes me how Checkers, who is fourteen, still runs and plays like she's a kitten.  Sam is finally acting like himself again.  He's sleeping with me again and we have a routine for his laxative.  It's been working out good.  I'm so glad that is past as I was really worried about them while I was on vacation.

I'm having a hard time coming up with something to talk about today.  My head hurts as I had to mow my yard yesterday and I must not have drank enough water to replace all the sweat I sweated. It was hopefully the last truly hot day of the summer.  They are now calling for mid 50s at night and low 70s during the day.

I'll take that anytime!

All right, let's look at this gorgeous holo made for me by More Nail Polish.  She made me five different colored holos and I just cherish them!

This is for you Cathy!

Swoooooon.  Is this not the most gorgeous forest green holo ever?? I sure think so!

Classic French

This post will be of the mani I wore for my Canadian fishing trip.  Out of all my holo love, I will always love a good classic french the best.

Now let's see. I've been back to work and it's been insane.  While I was on vacation, three nurses quit and a couple of clerks.  It boggles the mind.  Here's what I know about the nurses. They are in in the same cancer group.  Like I do lung cancer-they had their own cancer.

Each one of these nurses worked with only ONE doctor.  Me, I have eight or so.  I would kill to just have one.  So these nurses met with the boss as they have been adding new doctors left and right and asked each one to pick up one other doctor so they'd each have two.

Still way less than me.

What did they do?  They all up and quit. Refusing to take on another doctor.  The even more sh*tty thing is that one of these nurses was originally hired to draw blood only.  She had to have surgery and could no longer do the job she was hired for.  Instead of letting her go, the boss had her move into this clinic so she'd have a job.

And now she just flipped off the boss as she quit and walked out the door with her nose in the air.

I just think that is so sh*tty.

One of the clerks quit because of my back hurts.  Yup.  A direct cause and effect. This clerk was to work with my back hurts and she was so belittling to this clerk and sending nasty emails and leaving post its every where that this clerk up and quit.

This clerk came from food services.  She had NO medical background and couldn't possibly know what the hell my back hurts was talking about.  She should have been a bit more understanding with the learning curve. Where is this clerk going back to?  Food services.

Yup.  Way to go my back hurts.  Who is still doing part time as her back still hurts. It's getting f*cking old.  Oh and I got another post it from her. This time it was to help her send messages in the computer. Instead of just saying hey when you get a chance, come help me a minute.

Nope she scribbles it out on BOTH sides of a post it what it is she needs.  Makes me shake my head and go why?

Now let's look at my version of a classic french.  This was after my revelation on doing my gel dip nails.

Isn't this gorgeous??????? Lasted the twelve days of my vacation. Through worm guts and all.  This is Essie Nude Beach (my favorite french base) with some Pure Pearlfection on top.  Then OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls for the tips.  I simply love this look.

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?

EZ Dip Gel #4

Today I promised you the one mistake I've been making that will change how your gel dip nails look and feel. I'm just so glad I figured this out.

Totally random story first.

This is a story I read a while back in the newspaper.  Some state out west now has assisted suicide so this forty something who had terminal Multiple Sclerosis or something like it threw a "going away" party.  She had all her friends over, food drinks etc. At this point in time, she couldn't move due to her illness so she was lying propped up on a bed facing the mountains so people could come up to her to say their goodbyes.

The only rule was no crying in front of her.

So at the end of this party, she was given a fatal dose of let's say morphine as I don't remember exactly and while she fell asleep forever, she watched the sunset on the mountains. It took four hours I believe.  Not sure why it took that long, unless she asked for that.

While I was in Canada with mom and we were kayaking, I brought this up and we talked about whether this would be something we'd want for ourselves and I can tell you for me, I'm all for it. If you have an illness that isn't going to get better and you've had enough, I think it's a nice thing to give your friends and family that time to say goodbye instead of the selfish thing that is traditional suicide people do now.

Remember, I've had two friends commit suicide who weren't sick so I'm talking from experience.

Since losing my dad, I've thought about this much more.  I would rather pick when it's my time than have pain or whatever that ultimately ends your life at some random time and there may not be that time for people to say good bye.  I still wish I had known so I could have had more time with my dad.

For me, I'd want to pick my time to go.  What about you?

Yeah maudlin I know.  But it's where my mind is right now.

Now when I first showed you my initial attempt at gel dip nails, it was not pretty.  It was thick, lumpy and bumpy.  Shall we revisit?

1st attempt
I have since done my nails four more times. The steps are to lightly buff your natural nails, use the structure liquid then dip your nail and tap off the excess.  What I was doing next was just doing another layer of dipping. This is what made things so thick and lumpy.  What I figured out, is you need to take a brush (I use a huge powder makeup brush) and lightly brush off the excess powder on your nail that isn't stuck by the structure liquid.

This was LIFE CHANGING for my process and in the way my nails looked after.  I do not know why I wasn't doing this brushing between dips.  It is in very small print in the directions sort of as an after thought.  People, I'm telling you do not skip this step!

This is the set I did before I went on vacation using this new found step.

I know it's hard to tell here, but my cuticles aren't flooded with gel that was causing that weird dent when I polished my nails.  It's also much much thinner than my previous attempts.  I have been doing three dips where as before I only did two dips cause it was so thick.  Look how thin this is.

That's what makes this so awesome.  Now it just looks like your nails only stronger.  I haven't broken a nail yet and they are long for me and I'm a mad man with my hands and nails. Also you can see no lumpy bumpy nails here.  Just the shape of my natural nails.

Get a makeup powder brush and do one hand, do the other hand and before dipping the next layer then brush off the excess powder.  You don't want to do it the second you dip your nail.  You need to wait a bit.  I do both hands left hand first, then when I finish dipping the right hand, I gently and lightly brush off the excess powder then do the next dip layer.

It's made a world of difference!  I pass this on to you.  Don't do what I did previously!

Hope this helps!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Chanel Khaki Brun Holo'd

Holy sh*t people!!!! While I was writing the last post, my stats were 44 hits away from 500,000 all time hits since starting this blog.  I just checked it again and it's official.  I've hit 500,000! Only took me five years! Ever since I posted that Nexgen post and my EZ Dip gel post, I'm getting way more hits than I used to.  Those posts have really been bringing people here. Not sure if they are staying, but at least they are coming here.

That NexGen post alone has gotten 46,363 hits since it posted.  August 2016 got 19,000 hits alone. It's insane.  I know other blogs that have gotten to these numbers much faster, but it's a cool milestone and I am proud of it.

My next post is another EZ Dip gel how to and I've figured out the quintessential mistake I've been making so stay tuned for that.

I went outside earlier to feed the hummingbirds and was cleaning up old spider webs-now you know that I love spider webs and don't usually take them down until winter.  If I see a spider in the web, I let them be. Now if they come in the house, then they have to go.  I don't play that.  But I think spider webs are beautiful.

My point is, I was out there and what did I see but a wasp nest.  Now I have a HUGE fear of wasps stemming from my childhood.  Back when we would visit one of my gramma's, we would be put down for naps in the upstairs room and above our heads, wasps just flew around.  It was scary as hell. I've never been stung and don't have a desire to ever know what that feels like!

So I got out my Raid wasp killer spray and went to town. Oh but before that, I thought it was empty so I hit it with my broom.  Now that was stupid. One wasp came out amidst wild buzzing.  The one wasp flew off as I sprayed the nest and four more came out! I was freaking out big time.  This is why you need a man around. For killing scary bugs. Damn woods I live in!

Yesterday I was watching the Food Network as I do and saw my old haunt St Louis neighborhood The Hill on it with toasted ravioli. This was invented in St Louis and I love them.  I went on the internet as I was going to order myself some until I saw the shipping price.  $67! For a five pound order of ravioli.  Since they are made fresh, they ship next day air. Oh hell no.

But I was so jonesing for toasted ravioli that I remembered the local Italian restaurant here has them. You bet I called them up and got me some.  I have more for today.  It was the best ever.  You know when you're so craving something and then you get it?  Just makes it that much better.

This day I wanted to wear a polish just for me.  This I have a backup bottle of.  I give you Chanel Khaki Brun with a light layer of Chaos and Crocodiles My Favorite Color Is Unicorn.

Now I'm perfectly aware this isn't for everyone, but I totally love this color.  What's your favorite polish?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?  Here's to another 500,000 hits!

Bettina Sunkissed, Elevation Polish Haba Xueshan

Why can't I just win the damn lottery already? Maybe if I checked the two tickets I bought, I just might be a rich person right now and not ever have to go to work again.

Just too much effort to do right now.  I'll check tomorrow.

So yeah, I went back to work.  Hated every minute of it.  The hard part was the getting up at 0500 again.  I'm still on vacation time.  When I got to work, it was at least nice that people missed me and were glad that I was back as things just don't run as smoothly when I'm not there.

Update time.  My back hurts is back from Hawaii still with her back hurting, still on part time. WTF people? I'm so over it.  The thing that made me mad was on Friday I came back from running a work errand to a post it on my desk from my back hurts telling me to print out her sh*t for her to have for next week.

Oh hell no she didn't.

I'm just back from vacation, far from caught up on my own sh*t and you're asking me to do yours cause you're still whining about your back? Nope not happening sister.  I walked over to her desk, handed her back her post it and said that I didn't even have my stuff done for my Monday conference and I don't have time to print her stuff.  I did tell her that I would show her how to do it as we did get a new computer program.

Think she took that gracefully?

Oh hell no she didn't.

She started b*tching about how stupid all this new stuff is and how she doesn't have time etc.  If I wasn't about to clock out I would have replied with some snarky sh*t but I just didn't feel like even wasting my time.  I set up her computer and showed her how to print and walked away.

Oh and the other new thing? My back hurts has a new coworker helping her do her job.  I will need to come up with a name for the new one.  This one disappears for hours at a time as my back hurts isn't there full time, so the new one figures, I'll just go hide somewhere and get paid.

It'll get interesting if and when my back hurts ever comes back to full time.

One of these days I'm going to explain to you just why whining about her back hurting makes me so angry.

Now today we have a glitter! You may remember I have a thing for black and white glitter.  I own five different ones.  This one happens to have random blue in it.

First up though is Bettina Sunkissed.

I was in the mood for a bright yellow happy nail.  Still love me some Bettina! Next I added Elevation Polish Haba Xueshan.  Nope not going to throw this out just because the owner has so much drama surrounding her.

Isn't this awesome??? It does have holo sparkles in it, just couldn't capture it here.  If you look closely, you will see heart glitter! And yes every time I wear glitter I swear when it comes to taking it off that it will be the last time I wear glitter!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Liquid Sky Lacquer XTC

Those who know, will be shocked at the color coming in this post!

Now, we left off talking about my vacation.  I got a righteous sunburn while in Canada.  Happens every year. Even though the fishing sucked, mom and I did quite a bit of kayaking.  I love doing that! We didn't find the group of loons like we did last year.  It was not without trying though! A lady there told us she saw a group of 200! That would have been cool.

So my nose was beet red, then it blistered, the fronts of my legs from kayaking and my shoulders where a t-shirt normally covers.  Yes I know, I should wear sunscreen-but I'm only outside once a year so I just let it be.  Of course, the sunburn is painful and then I put on 50SPF!

Yes I'm stupid!

I just found tiny blisters on my legs and arms from the burn.  Took almost a week for that to happen. Oh and the tops of my feet and lower legs have red spots on them.  Doesn't hurt or itch so really no idea what it's from.

I did visit my dad's grave three times.  And three times, I was kneeling on the ground, my head leaning on his headstone sobbing like he just died yesterday.  It's still very painful for me.  I still haven't truly wrapped my head around the fact that he is gone.  My brother and I spent an afternoon while I was there talking about him.

I'm thinking these spots are from bugs while I was there kneeling.  The other weird thing is that one of the letters of his name has worms or maggots living in it.  I cleaned it out with alcohol really well, but two days later when I went back to the grave, the worms/maggots were back.  It's weird.  It's like some bug is laying eggs in the carving.  I'm going to have my mom talk to the headstone guy who made it to see if there is anything that can be done to stop this.

Does anyone out there know what this is and how to stop it?

It's not a world problem, it just bothers me. It's my dad's grave and I want it to be nice.

My cats haven't left my side since I got home.  I was gone for nine days and they missed me! I missed them too, but to be honest, I sleep a lot better without them next to me.  So this once a year trip, I get the best sleep ever. The day after I got home? I literally washed my car three times, vacuumed it, mowed my yard and did a new set of dip gel nails.

Yeah, I felt good and yeah I paid dearly for doing all that the next day!  Since I haven't gone back to work as I'm writing this, I sure hope the drama has died down.  I hope my back hurts is back to full time and Ms Princess has stopped crying.

I feel too good right now and I want to hold on to that as long as I can! But I know there will be a sh*t ton of work facing me tomorrow.  I just got a text from one of the docs asking if I was back yet. I replied, tomorrow!

It's been a long time since I wore Liquid Sky Lacquer.  Here is XTC.

Yes people! It's HOT PINK! I had ideas of doing like a funky french, but I got lazy.  All these were done before I went on vacation.

More next post!

Colors by Llarowe Seasons of Change

Wow, I hadn't realized I hadn't posted since August 24! I really needed a break though.  I just got back from my yearly trek to Canada to fish.  It's the time of year where I take off twelve whole days from work to just unplug, unwind and just be.

Today is the last day of this vacation and I'm already dreading going to work tomorrow.  I have been sleeping in big time.  0500 is going to hit awfully early in the morning.

I kept track of all the miles I put on my car for this trip.  1567 miles total! My car was so gross when I got home. Bugs splattered all over the front hood and just dirty inside and out.  I've since vacuumed and washed the crap out of it.  So aside from the water spots, it's back to it's original shiny self.

So, it took nine hours to get to my mom's house.  That was Day 1.  The next day, we drove to Canada and damn if I didn't catch a fish worth keeping.  I don't know if it's the lake being low, the higher temperatures or it's been overfished that is causing the bad fishing.  All I was catching were babies that would swallow the hook and I'd end up killing them ripping their guts out to get the hook back.

That's NOT my idea of fun.

For those who wonder, yes if they are big enough, I keep them and eat them.  And if I don't take the hook out of these babies, they die anyway and the seagull who grabs the fish will get the hook in them.  It's just not fun when you don't catch anything.

Remember my mom was going on her Alaska trip so she left Wednesday evening and I was there at camp for the first time in my entire life.  It was weird.  You see I've been going to camp since I was 3. I was potty trained there.  But I've never been there alone.  I was supposed to stay there  until Friday morning, but by lunchtime Thursday, it was raining and I just couldn't sit there and read a book for six hours.

So I drove back to mom's house to hang out with my brother's family.  I bought six beads to complete my two Pandora style bracelets.  The clerk was all like, now you have to start another one.  But for now, I'm just sticking with these two.  What I did was buy my 10 year old niece her first bracelet and bead so she can start collecting.

I got her a bracelet with an expander so as she grows, the bracelet grows with her.  I hope she keeps it and that it reminds her of me.  I'm not the greatest aunt in the world but I try.

All right.  I'll write more about my trip next post! Here is Colors by Llarowe Seasons of Change.

This is kind of a blue green light holo.  I think it's gorgeous!

Stay tuned for more!
