CbL Seasons of Change, Rezipped, TDWP Mostly Ghostly

It finally happened!!!!!!!!  I got the email!!!!  My iphone 6plus has finally shipped!  I should have it tomorrow!  OMGOMGOMGOMG! Doing the happy dance!

It's been a little over a month of waiting.  While I normally wouldn't stress about this stuff, the issue is, my parents are finally going smart phone and it hinged on my getting my new one so my mom can take my 5S.  They will be here in two weeks and it was getting a little too close to having to come up with a plan B.  I'm glad we didn't have to do that.  I'm all sorts of excited!!!!

My mom calls me the other day and says "we bought a new car." I asked her why and her reply?  "It was raining and we were bored." My parents are not ones to sit.  I like to sit, they don't.  I can't keep up with them, nor do I try to!  So then I'm told they bought a top of the line Nissan Altima with all the bells and whistles.  Brand new.

Who are these people???

My parents have never bought a new car.  They always buy a good used one. I'm told this thing has HEATED leather seats, HEATED steering wheel, an automatic starter so you can start the car from inside the house so you can get into a nice warm car.

Again I ask you, who are these people????  HEHEHEHE.  I like to tease!

Anywho, my stupid betta has once again seriously chewed his tail fin down.  I cannot win with this damn fish.  I cannot understand what I'm doing wrong and what I need to do differently.  It makes me very anxious and stressed out.

Fish aren't supposed to stress you out.

Onto a very cool mani.  Here is the silly bottle shot.

This is The Devil Wears Polish Mostly Ghostly, Colors by Llarowe Rezipped and Seasons of Change.

I started with skittles.

Indoor Sun
Holy crap! These are some freakin amazing holos! WOW!

Next I stamped using fauxnad plate m72 and Seasons, then used my nail vinyls.  Here are the very cool results.

Indoor Sun

I have always loved this plate design.  It says 'love u."  I thought the design of the stamping went well with the tape design.  An all over win in my book.

What do you think?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Chocolate Covered Blueberries

I've been putting a lot of thought into redoing my blog design.  It's almost 4 years old and I'm bored with the dots.  Here's what I'm thinking about doing.  One idea is to change the color scheme to brown as it's my favorite color.  Maybe with a brown plaid as the background.  I'm leaning towards going super simple with just one column and get rid of the side bar all together.

I've already deleted some of the stuff on the sidebar.  My other idea is to have a nature scene for each season.  You know like a flowery scene for Spring, Leaves for Fall etc. Not sure that that is doable. I'm looking into it.

What do you guys think????  I've hired someone to help me create a new design, but still haven't finalized anything yet.  I need your suggestions BAD!

I'm trying hard to get used to my new progressive lenses.  But at the same time, I've had a migraine for three days now.  Still have it as I write this.  Not sure if the glasses are helping or not.  All I know is I am in miserable pain and I hate this.

Since my last post was all pink and pretty, you had to expect something dark and brown right?

Here's your silly bottle shot.

This is Enchanted Polish LaLa Land and The Devil Wears Polish Chocolate Covered Blueberries. See the blue shimmer in it?  Remember that!

I started with skittles, then hated that as I LOVED this brown so much, I removed and started over. Which for those who pay attention know I am way too lazy to do that.  So this means this is one special color!

Flash

Flash
Since the sun wasn't out, I had to use flash.  I could not capture that blue shimmer. Trust me, it's there in real life and it's freakin amazing!

Next I did a simple design I saw on instagram by the lovely Didoline.  She used nail vinyls that look like hole protectors and made this design.

Flash

Flash
Pretty cool, although I think this would have been better with a different blue. I was trying to match the blue shimmer color.  It's darker than this.

But overall, it's a simple design that looks very cool.

Send me your blog design ideas fast people!  I really need your suggestions!!

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?

It's a Pink Fest

No I haven't hit my head and fallen in love with pink.  I got in my new Colors by Llarowe Fall colors and HAD to wear Mercy.  I figured why not just go all out and go pink.

Bought myself my very first rake yesterday.  Yes I've used many a rake, but never actually went out and bought myself one.  Usually I borrow my neighbors, or I used to pay someone to clean up the leaves for me.  Well, I went to Home Depot and was instantly smacked in the face by Christmas.

Seriously? Can we please get through Halloween and October first?  Do people really go out now and buy up Christmas trees and crap?  If you do, there may be something wrong with you! HAHA!  I just stopped and stared at the Christmas tree display and shook my head.  I then realized that all I could smell was that smell of Christmas from the candles and incense they had out.  It was a full on attack I tell you!

I finally made it back to the garden center, which by this time of year is in a sad state of affairs.  I found the rake display and realized I have no idea what to look for in a rake.  I could easily see why the cheap ones wouldn't last through one season.  Then I saw the plastic ones.  I had no idea they made plastic ones.  I've always used metal. One of the sales dudes asked me if I needed help and proceeded to tell me he owns and loves the plastic rake.

Well, I'm sort of stuck in my ways and can't see myself loving the plastic rake.  So instead of buying one, I bought two! One metal one and one plastic one.  I figure I'll try them both and see what happens.  I'll never have to buy a rake again since the metal one has a lifetime warranty.  Now that's what I like.

I keep getting closer and closer to being a real adult.  Kind of scary ain't it?

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Liquid Sky Lacquer XTC, Anonymous Lacquer Ruby Baby We Miss You and Colors by Llarowe Mercy.

Gold Fail #2

We continue on with my second ruination of a perfect gold holo.  Oh how sad.

The day I did these two, I didn't even feel like going through the pictures to edit etc. Instead, I went outside and got a wild hair to clean my gutters.  Something I attempted to do once a long time ago.

I've noticed that when it rains very hard, that instead of the gutters doing their thing, I get a sheet wall of water coming down in front of the gutters and getting in my house. Not good at all.  I found an old ladder under my house and proceeded to climb up way higher than I should have and saw the horror that was my gutters.

I had on my work gloves and just started grabbing huge handfuls of rotten leaves, dirt and roof debris from the shingles.  I was very careful and moved the ladder for every foot so I wouldn't be leaning. The issue was the ends of the gutters.  My deck doesn't extend that far. I got a broom and somehow worked the crap at the ends out.

Oh but I wasn't done there.  Next I got my handy dandy collapsible hose and proceeded to wash my gutters with the hose.  Making sure that the downspouts got cleared out as well.  I then had to take all that leaf debris and carry it into the woods.

Trust me when I was done, I was a dirty mess.  It had taken me an entire hour to do this awful chore. But oh so proud of myself for getting a nasty job done.  It will need to be done again as my big tree in the back hasn't dropped it's leaves yet.  At least then, it shouldn't be the mess it was now.

Just don't tell my parents I was up on that ladder!

Let's revisit where I started.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
Swoon! This is Liquid Sky Lacquer Pure Luxury.  If you're very careful and use non acetone, you can remove the art you've done on top of your base.  That is what I did. These were the pictures from before I started anything.

It's definitely not perfect after you've removed the art.  This time I was so mad at all the time I spent for the tweed fail, that I just decided to stamp.  I used Cici&Sisi plate 7.  I then ruined it by adding dots.

Why can't I learn to leave things alone?????

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
Not quite as bad a fail as last time, but still not good.

This concludes the gold fail series! HAHAHA!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Gold Fail #1-Tweed

For today's post, I thought I'd try this tweed design I saw on Instagram.  Even though I can't freehand, I thought I could tackle this design as it's a bunch of tiny lines.

NOT!  I made such a horrible mess that I'm ashamed to even show you!  HAHA!  It was supposed to look like this: done by the amazing Lexstasy Nails.  Mine are no where near hers.

Before I show you, let's talk.

I buy a lot of polish.  We all know this.  It's my addiction, my reason to get up in the morning (HEHE).  But when it comes to buying stuff I actually need, in my mind, that takes away from my polish money.  Do you do that in your head too?

I've been wearing the same boots for roughly 8 years now.  They are still presentable, but you can see where they are getting threadbare and the soles are so thin, that the right rock may punch right on through.  I decided I needed new boots.  I had gone before looking for them, but it was the wrong season.  If you want boots, it has to be Fall.

I love DSW-for my international peeps, this stands for Discount Shoe Warehouse. It's a store chain that sells boots at a discount.  I love this store as I'm not one who will pay thousands for boots.  This time, I found two pair that I fell in love with. My way of doing things is if I find something I like, I just buy it in several colors. I'm not a clothes hound.  All my shirts for work are the exact same thing, just different colors.

I'm ok with that.

This time I bought four pairs of boots, but in two styles.  I just got them in brown and black.  Want to see?

I ALWAYS have to have me some combat boots like the first picture here.  It's who I am.  Still GOTH at the core.  The bottom pair just called to me.  Aren't they awesome? Suede.  Now remember I got these in black and brown.  This last style had one gorgeous dark blue that I almost bought but didn't.  I wore these suede ones to work this past Friday and boy are they comfortable as hell right out of the box.  Plus? These are the skinniest heels I've ever owned.  I was worried I was gonna fall over!

Luckily I didn't.

I didn't do a bottle shot for these next two posts.  I started with the most gorgeous gold holo and proceeded to ruin it twice.

Here are the starting shots.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
OMG this is a stunner!  This is Liquid Sky Lacquer Pure Luxury.  Strong, linear holo that you needs shades for!

Next I took several brown holos as I wanted to recreate Lexstasy's with holos.  I went way too overboard instead of random like hers.  Are you ready?  It's not pretty.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
Yikes!  Let's call this abstract instead of a tweed fail!  Maybe in some alternate universe this might be considered cool.  But not here and not now.

I ended up taking this off, leaving the gold behind.  As you can see, I didn't even do all the cleanup here.

That's for next time.  Fail #2.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Halloween #2 2014, Mummies!

Today I will show you my next Halloween mani.  This one came out so freakin cool that I was showing it off to anyone who would look!

Before though, I wanted to give you an update on my gel dip nails.  I just got them done for the third time.  My natural nails were finally long enough that I didn't need tips!  I still wish I could go more than two weeks at a time, but I'm not going to be sad that my nails grow fast!  This time, I made sure my cuticles were pushed back.  I'm thinking, early, that this may help my gap issues.  I still have been buffing the base down and adding a layer of gel polish three days before I'm due again.

I just can't take the huge gap.  Can't do it.

Aren't they gorgeous?????  Kisses to Diana!  She is my nail savior!  Anywho, did have to cut down some length in order to square them up.  I do want to go a bit longer.  I think last post, the length was maybe a bit too long, but who knows.  I may keep on going!

Work can't say these aren't my natural nails!

All right, let's do this mummy thing.  Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Colors by Llarowe Black Gold and Aliens and Outlaws on the outside, Liquid Sky Lacquer White Christmas on the inside.

I started with White Christmas and a layer of Aliens.

Flash

Flash
Man I wish I had the sun to show you this!  Next I used my nail vinyls to make stripes then added acrylic paint eyes.  Here are the very cool HOLO mummy results!

Flash

Flash
HEHEHE this works from both angles!  There are many of these on Instagram, but mine is the only holo one!  I freakin love this!!!!!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Halloween Mani #1 2014

This mani definitely makes up for the past one.  I have sought redemption and here it is!!

Went to my eye doctor again yesterday. I told you how the RX wasn't correct.  It seems I now need progressive lenses.  I'm upset by the whole situation.  I don't think my MD handled it well at all.  He did not explain to me that progressives may be what I need to go to.  He just assumed that since it was 'such a little change' in my RX, that I wouldn't have a problem with my new lenses.  When I got there, they tried to say they would credit me half what I paid.  Hell no.  Homey don't play dat.

Next thing I know, she's trying to sell me on these 'higher end' lenses that fit in my smaller frame. What I don't get is when she told me my RX needed to be changed, she specifically said my frames were too small and that I had to get bigger frames for progressive lenses.  Now all of a sudden, it's oh yeah we can do these high end awesome lenses that fit in your frames.  HUH????

She went into great detail about the difference and I'm not going to sit here and pretend I understood a damn thing she said.  And I'm a nurse!  All I know is, I get to keep my frames, which I actually like and really didn't want to change.  So she had to put my old lenses back in my frames and guess what? The 'fishing line' broke that holds the lens in place.  Now she had to restring them-which after 3 years of wearing them, probably is a good thing.  I ended up being there for an hour.  I can't be sure, but I could swear my eye MD when he saw me there, wasn't happy about this whole situation.  I can't be sure whether I'm really getting high end lens, or if it's some big ruse to get me to keep my old frames so they get their money back from the lab who did my wrong RX lens.

What I do know, I can now see my distance again, but now I can also see how my up close is blurry as I had the other new lens show me just how crisp my vision can be.  I can't be at work like I was yesterday and be looking down the hall at people, and not be able to see their face as it's all a big blur. I'm not OK with that.

I just hope this new RX fixes it all.  Have to wait another two weeks for them to be ready.  Cross your fingers that my vision will magically be 'like I was 20' which is to paraphrase what I was told.

I'll keep you posted.

Now onto this awesome mani!  Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Colors by Llarowe Aliens and Outlaws, Orly Liquid Vinyl, Rouge Louboutin and OPI Alpine Snow.

I started with skittles.  Oh and my nails are LONG! I do love them, makes for clicky typing though!

Flash

Flash

I haven't had sun in forever for holo time.  Next I stamped using Bundle Monster BM 413 and Cici&Sisi plate 10.  Then I added red dots. I was going to make them into spiders but figured I'd mess them up thus ruining this awesome mani!

Flash

Flash
I so love how this came out! I especially love how perfect my stamping is for this intricate design of skulls.  I definitely was showing them off to anyone who would look at them!

Today is new nails day.  My natural ones are this long underneath the tips.  I will most likely forgo the tips this time, but may go a bit shorter.  We shall see.

I continue to wait far from patiently for my iphone 6 plus.  What the hell Apple???????

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

RBL Motorini, Barielle Moda Bleu

Just finished cleaning the hell out of my house.  The cat fur tumbleweeds have far surpassed their normal numbers and were taking over big time.  I even cleared off my fireplace mantel and vacuumed that.  Think that was last done by the previous owners over 12 years ago. HAHAH! I was in a zone and decided that I wanted to run my 3 lava lamps and didn't want all the dust to catch fire!

Yeah I live alone in squalor of my own making.

Now I'm just waiting for the dryer to finish so I can do my nails.  I won't lie, this mani today is a fail in my eyes.  I'm not happy with this one at all.  I'm going to do a Halloween one for next post.  I haven't done one yet this year.  I was looking at the ones I submitted for the Bundle Monster contest last year and think I can top those.

Gonna give it a go.

For my peeps who live in Australia-I am addicted to the Real Housewives of Melbourne.  Wow do I love that accent.  It's a place I'll never visit.  Have you been to Tourak? Think I spelled that right?

Anywho, here's the silly bottle shot.  Let's get this horror over with.

This is Barielle Moda Bleu, Rescue Beauty Lounge Motorini and Anonymous Lacquer Blue Crush.

I've been missing my flakies lately.  Have you?  It used to be such the rage and now nothing.

I started with skittles.  No sun, cloudy sad day.

Flash

Flash
Now this RBL is gorgeous.  This Barielle is as well.  I just didn't do them justice.  I did the gel buffing and regelling of my cuticle gap.  Came out pretty good here.

So I stamped with a stamp I realized I just used-plate Cheeky jumbo 3, tried to color them in after the fact instead of doing advanced stamping, then did flakies on the dark blue.

It's far from my best work.  Better looking from a distance sort of thing.

Flash

Flash
Oh well.  I can't always do perfection! HAHA!

Off to do another mani.  Hopefully I can redeem myself.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

The Devil Wears Polish Equinox

Do you get the flu shot every year? I don't.  I refuse.  Have refused since 1998. Here's my reasoning. Every year, the think tank decides which flu strain they think might possibly be the strain for that season.  Then they make the shot based on their prediction.  For example, if they think strain A is this year's virus, all the shots will be for strain A.  But what happens if they're wrong and instead it's strain B that's all the rage that season?  You get the flu anyway.  What's the point?

So I'm being told that next year, it will be mandatory for me to get the flu shot.  What I wonder is-how do you force someone to get an injection?  Someone said if you don't, you have to wear a mask at all times, which I ain't doing.  I'll have to wait and see if this comes to fruition or not.  If it truly does, I will need to devise a way to get out of it.  I have that kind of deviant brain trust me.

I'll get back to you next year on that.

It's my second favorite type of day outside my window.  It's cold and rainy.  I love that! I'd love a snowy day more, but we are still in Fall here.  The leaves are about halfway turned and the colors are really starting to pop.  I love this time of year.  The colors are just amazing.

The other funny for today?  I was at work and they were having their annual pie sale.  I hadn't bought one last year, so this year I did.  I didn't bother to open the box to check it.  I got back to my office after paying my $10 thinking I was getting a homemade pie.  NOPE.  It was still in it's Sara Lee box, still partially frozen.  Yeah I was mad but also felt stupid for not checking it before I bought it.  I was expecting homemade.  I didn't feel like going back and complaining.  So now I have a $3 pie I paid $10 for in my fridge.  Gonna be my breakfast today.

All right.  Here comes a very cool mani for today.

Here's the silly bottle shot.

This is The Devil Wears Polish Equinox, OPI My Dogsled Is A Hybrid and My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

I started with skittles.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
My nail gap is looking huge to me here.  This is only after ONE week.  I bought buffers and files yesterday so I can buff down the cuticle line so it's not as noticeable if I polish over it.  I've got no choice-except to go back to nubs.

Next I stamped with MoYou Festive 4 plate, placed glitter again and used my nail vinyls.  Here are the very cool results.

Indoor Sun

Indoor Sun
I love this green! I took the stamped pattern and made one huge pattern on my middle finger to go with the others.  How cool is this??????  I happen to love it!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
