Fug Luv

Many of you will not like today's mani and that's ok. I'm a fan of the fugly colors and just had to do a fug one just for me.  It's also very simple and the damn sun never came out, so there are also very few pictures as well.

I just finished cleaning my house because my parents are coming.  Yes I am 45 years old and I only clean my house when my parents come to visit. My house is neat and things are in their place, but unless they are visiting or the fur tumbleweeds are such that I am grossed out, no I don't clean.

Today, however, me and my vacuum went where no others have gone before. Mainly under the bed and in the corners where the vacuum doesn't reach and the cat fur and dust have mated and made humongous fields of stuff.  It totally looked like my carpet had sprouted and needed a hair cut.  So while listening to The Pointer Sisters "Neutron Dance" I got up the courage and went in for battle.  My poor little vacuum protested and I had to get out the extenders, but in the end I was victorious.

I then did a victory "Neutron Dance" dance and went on my way.

How silly and gross is that story?  HEHEHEHEH!

Here is the silly bottle shot for today.

This is my all time favorite Rescue Beauty Lounge No More War and LCN Rita.

Remember back in the day your box of Crayola crayons? One of my favorite colors was like this yellow.  I believe I was called Maize. My other fave? Burnt Sienna-a brown of course!

I started with Rita and an accent of War.

Oh how awesome these two go together!  I really had no idea what to do next and I was feeling very lazy, so I just dotted and tried a water decal for the first time.

I was a water decal failure.  I ruined the first one, then the one I'm showing you split in half. The instructions say to use wax paper to gently press the decal to your nail. Well I don't have wax paper.  My finger didn't work, a paper towel didn't work and in the end, the design didn't go with these colors anyway.

Total fail.

Yeah not my best work, but I am in love with these two colors together!

Are you a vacuum addict or not?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Puzzled

Today we have another first.  I've really been trying to do new and exciting things to expand my horizons. I've mastered stamping, so I'm trying to get better at other things.

Wow I am seriously at a loss for words.  I cannot think of one intelligent thing to say today.  I'm staring at the screen, one of my cats purring on my lap and nothing is coming to mind.  Huh.

The only thing I can think to talk about was my re-certification for CPR.  It is a requirement of my job to have this.  It's a four hour painful process that I have now been through way too many times to count.  I think that after a certain number of recerts, you should just be able to demonstrate you know what you're doing, pass the test and be done with it.  Unless there are new changes of course.

Well, this class had over 50 people and it was packed.  Full of newbie nurses, fresh out of nursing school. Ah to be surrounded by twenty year olds, starting out in the world, and then there's me hating the fact I have to be there because I have a ton of work to do.  It made me remember back when I was a newbie 18 years ago.  Damn that's a long time.  I've done a little bit of everything in my nursing career and have loved doing it. I wouldn't be anything else. Except maybe a forensic something or other.  But I digress.

I had the misfortune of having a brand new mannequin to pound on and let me tell you, that sucker hurt me. Hurt me bad.  Now I'm suffering from pulled belly muscles and general aches and pains from it.  Plus I broke two nails on the damn thing. Man it sucks getting older!  So after the four hours, you had to be tested and take the written test.  There was only ONE person correcting the tests for 50 people.  I was pissed.  I totally butted in front of everyone in line-no joke because I really had work to do and the rest there, hadn't even started their new jobs yet.

People kept sailing right past me into the room where the grading guy was and I'm fuming bitching "there's a line people!"  Yeah I was unpleasant but I really don't give a sh*t.  I told the guy it was chaos out there and he meekly looked at me and  said "I'm sorry."  Yeah ok dude, just grade my test, hand me my card and get me the hell out of here. Of course I got a 100.  Natch.

I grabbed my stuff and got out of there, safe from there for another two years.

Now it's time for the silly bottle shot.

This is Chanel Malice and Enchanted Polish Once Upon A Cloud.

I started with an accent nail of Malice, the rest Cloud.  This is a gorgeous, though subtle, grey holo.  Here are the starting shots.

Oh how I love this Malice!  Next I taped off and added more Malice.

Next I added dots to make my very first jigsaw mani. Have you seen those around? It always fascinated me and I finally figured out how to do one.  Here are the very cool results.

These two colors are gorgeous together!  My jigsaw is not perfect here, you can see the line of Malice between the Cloud dots.  I'll have to be more careful next time.  I am loving how this came out though.

Do you love what you do?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Dots and Dashes

They made the official announcement at work yesterday.  The interim nurse manager is now the official new nurse manager.  Duh-that was a no brainer. I don't know enough about her to say whether this is good or bad.  So far, I like her but time will tell.  As long as she just leaves me alone and lets me do my job, all will be well.

I go to work to work, not socialize.  People think I'm standoffish, non social etc, but reality is, I just don't care about that, I'm there to take care of my patients and that's what I do.  And I'm damn good at it!

Yesterday we were supposed to get eight inches of snow.  The whole stupid city shut down the night before the snow was even expected to start.  They had said it would start at 2pm-well 2 came and went.  Then they said it was going more north than they originally thought.  Then it was maybe we will get two inches of snow. I just want to laugh at the people who go out every single time and buy up all the bread and milk like it's the end of the world.  It's not people. It's just snow.  I got about two inches of the dry powdery stuff and now the wind is howling and blowing it all over the place.  I'm glad I'm off today!

Need you guys to critique a tiny something I just changed on my blog.  I came across this post by Every Little Polish and decided I was smart enough to brave the HTML coding of my blog.  You see it's scares the CRAP out of me that when I do these things, I will blow up my blog so bad it will never work again.  I am not a coder, don't claim to be.  But I wanted to make my profile picture round since apparently, it's the thing to do nowadays.  So please take a moment, look at my profile picture in my sidebar and let me know what you think. I can make it bigger or smaller, I can make it a squoval instead of a circle, things like that.  I had done it very big with the type centered underneath, but felt it was too big.  I also tried the rounded square and kind of liked that. The round more matches my dot background so I left it like that for now.

Tell me what you think!!! I'm just glad my blog didn't blow up!

Now here is today's silly bottle shot.

This is Misa Foggy Breath at 3AM, Enchanted Polish Halo and Ocean Potion.  The Misa is more a teal than is shown here.

I started with both of the Enchanteds.

Halo is a delicate sheer purpley holo and gorgeous!  Next I stamped using the Misa and MoYou Biker 6 plate.  Then I dotted and funky'd.  Here are the results.

Since it's been so long since I've stamped, I forgot to take a picture of the plate I used.  Next time I'll remember!

I think this came out pretty cool, don't you?

Let me know what you think of my new round profile picture!

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?

More Green Fun

I continue with more green today.  I realized I haven't worn any green in quite a few posts plus I still wanted to wear some original Enchanted Polish to mess with the people out there paying hundreds for them on EBay.  It's such crap that people buy these just to sell them on EBay and make money.  It keeps many people from being able to get them who actually want to wear them.

I am still working on relabeling all my posts.  I started back at the beginning.  I have almost 500 posts and 5 pages of posts to go through.  So far, I have done one page and part of another.  It's going to take quite some time to get it all done.  It'll totally be worth it for you guys to be able to navigate my stuff easier.

One day last week, I actually had 3200 hits in one day.  I had to rub my eyes and check it again as I was in disbelief.  It was totally a fluke, I must have somehow gotten on some random site and gotten those hits.  I've been back to my normal 200 hits a day since.  I can't imagine getting a million hits a month like blogazons do. That would be freaky to me!  A girl can dream.

You guys interested in true crime?  I totally am.  I watch all the shows on Investigation Discovery and am right now reading the Jodi Arias story.  For those who don't know, she's a girl who killed her boyfriend and became a media sensation and didn't believe she'd ever be convicted.  Well duh, she left her palm print in blood on his wall, her hair in his shower and pictures of the crime happening on a camera she threw in the washing machine.  It was a slam dunk case. The weird thing is, as I'm reading this book, they are talking about all the testimony from her past.  Ex boyfriends and past jobs.  Why the hell does that matter to a murder case?  I have no idea.  I think the world was so fascinated by this case, that they wanted all the minutiae of her life exposed.  I'm almost to the actual murder part of the book.  It's pretty good so far, if you like this stuff.  Which I do!

Anywho, here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Chick Gavie Green, Literary Lacquers Lake of Shining Waters, Enchanted Polish Green Goblin and Elevation Polish Yushan.

I started with a full mani using Yushan.

The sun came out later for this.  Next I added tape and filled in the spaces.

Here it is with the tape removed.

I decided that space in the middle needed a little something something.  So I added dots with Gavie.  Here are the very cool  results.

Pearl Meets A Holo

I went to Sally's the other day looking for Seche Restore. They didn't have any, but they did have a new rack of OPI.  This is new.  I perused the rack and realized I didn't have a white pearl polish.  I now have one.

This past Friday at work, I wore a skirt new to them, not to me.  You see, it was my divorce skirt.  The one I specifically bought to a) look fabulous and make him jealous and b) to look nice for court.  This was around 2006.  After my court date, I literally put this skirt in the back of my closet and forgot all about it. For some reason, I was digging in my closet and found this skirt again.  I pulled it out and decided to wear it.

Now I normally wear the long loose flowing prairie skirts.  This particular skirt is form fitting and down to my ankles.  I was worried I'd be looking ho-ish and inappropriate for work.  Well, I got a lot of compliments wearing it. Because it's so form fitting, it's a pain to walk in since I take very long strides.  That took getting used to, taking shorter strides.

I guess it's been long enough that I can wear this skirt again.

Have you ever had an article of clothing you couldn't wear again?

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is OPI Kyoto Pearl, Enchanted Poison Apple, Rescue Beauty Lounge Become One and Liquid Sky Lacquer Can't be Tamed.

I started with a full mani with Pearl.  The damn sun again hid for this entire mani.

I had forgotten how frosty a pearl polish is.  Not my favorite thing.

Did I tell you that another Enchanted Polish that I own went for $300 on EBay?????  INSANE!  So I decided to use some original Enchanteds for these next two posts to mess with the people out there paying this much!

I taped off and started with Tamed. This is a yellow green holo.  Here is that step.

I actually changed the tape again after this picture.  I then added the Poison Apple.

Pretty cool so far eh?  I then added some dots with Become One.  Here are the results.

I am totally in love with this!  I wish the sun had come out for it.  But I think this came out really cool.

So Pearl has officially met a holo.  What do you think?
