I lost-DUH

There was no surprise that I didn't win the Bundle Monster Halloween contest.  They haven't announced the winner as of writing this post, but I didn't even make the top thirteen.  Last I checked, I did get twenty one votes-most from my friend Diana.  I voted for her, she voted for me.  It's blog love.  We actually didn't know the other was doing it until votes were already done!  So funny.  She, of course, made the top thirteen, because she is an amazing stamper.  If you haven't checked out her blog, you're seriously missing out!

The latest at work, is the office move takes place Wednesday.  My day off.  Nice.  I'm not holding my breath, but have a feeling this time it's for real.

It's also been gloriously cold here. Right now it is 29F and I am loving it.  People here are such babies.  They are all bundled up with these massive coats, hats, mittens etc. I got to work and a coworker asked me where my coat was. I replied, "home in the closet."  That got a laugh.  I love the cold. It makes me happy.

I was running one of my Doctor conferences this past Friday and was crunching on my Count Chocula while presenting patients.  One of the doctors looked at me and asked what I was eating.  After I told him, he laughed and said he thought it was dog food.  Nice again.  Glad I'm the butt of many jokes at work!

Actually, it was pretty funny.

I got in a new brand of holo and the sun was supposed to come out later, which luckily it did.  I just couldn't wait to try these out.  I will definitely be buying more.

I also decided I needed to do one more Halloween mani.

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Liquid Sky Lacquer Pumpkin Pie, Autumn Thyme and Black Opal.

I started with skittles.

Even without the sun, these are blingy!  Love this orange holo!!!!

Next I stamped using a stamping black polish and several plates.  I used Bundle Monster plate BM224, MASH plate 38 and Cheeky plate 6. No funky this time. Here are the very awesome results.

The Sun Came Out!

After days and days of rain and clouds, I looked out my window and saw this.

If you're a regular of my blog, you know what this means right?  Not a damn cloud in the sky!

It's a holo fest! And because I just finished sh*t week number three, I had to do all brown just for me.

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Glitter Gal Belgian Chocolate, Enchanted Polish Afternoon Delight, Jessica Cinnamon Kiss and Brown Sugar.

I started with skittles.

Oh how happy this mani makes me!  I just don't understand how people can not love brown as much as I do, especially after seeing this masterpiece!

Wanted to also point your attention back to my blog sale.  I still have tons of polish left to sell and I am cleaning out my stamping collection to make room for more plates!  Please check it out!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

I've got the Dusky Blues

Gotta love that title eh?  I recently got in some new Essies from the Fall and Winter collection and I realized the blues were all this dusky greyed out color that I just knew would be awesome together.

The sun still has not come out and I'm getting quite bummed missing my holos. Plus my posts only have like five pictures when I usually have like sixteen.  It's sad!

Have you all gone out and stocked up on your Count Chocula cereal?  It's coming up to the end of October and it all goes away until next year.  I officially have three and a half boxes in my kitchen right now. You might say I'm a little obsessed.  I also bought a baby pumpkin, an acorn squash and a butternut squash while at the store. The lady in line with me asked if I bought them to eat or decoration.  I will be using them as decoration and then roasting and eating at least the squashes.  I don't know about the pumpkin yet.  I hate pumpkin pie, and never actually ate roast pumpkin, so not sure what to do.  I may carve him up and roast the seeds.  That's the thing to do.  My favorite part growing up was scooping out the guts and roasting the seeds.  Getting all excited just thinking about it.  But it's all undecided at this point.

I've also decided I need to buy a rake.  My neighbor said I could use hers, but since I'm supposed to be a grown up, maybe it's time I got my own.  I never rake, I hate to do it, but my back yard needs some work for real.  Luckily, you can't see it from the street or my homeowners association would be kicking my butt.

Now I have to tell you in advance that this mani is awesome!  I happen to really love this one and hated to take it off.  I should have waited to do this one when I had more time to wear it.

Here is the silly bottle shot.

This is Essie Mind Your Mittens, Vested Interest and Parka Perfect with Elevation Polish Haba Xueshan on top.

I started with skittles.

Swoooooooon people!  I love these colors together!

Next I stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM415, added a stud and my funky with the glitter on my middle finger.  Here are the very cool results.

I so wish I had sun shots for this one.  I know right now, that I WILL be repeating this color scheme.  It's way too awesome not to.

I'm told the sun will be out today.  Cross your fingers that my next post will contain holos and sun shots!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Red-Subtle?

I'm continuing on with the me manis today.  This one is subtle that you can't really see unless you're wearing it.  I didn't plan it that way, but it came out that way.

Still haven't moved my office yet, am told this Friday.  Again, I won't be holding my breath.  I did go back down into the space and upon re-inspection, it's not as bad as I had originally thought.  I think all of the cubicles hadn't quite been in place yet.  It's still crowded, but I guess I haven't a choice in the matter.  Plus, I tested my iPhone and it does work in that office.  Around the corner where one of my clinics are, I get no signal. This is another bonus.

I also bought some hand made bracelets from Wakami.  It's a charity-like thing and women in Guatemala weave them, sell them to people to make a living.  I got a set of seven.  I love them.  I got earth tones, greens and browns and am wearing them on my right wrist, since I have my Pandora-like bracelet on my left.  I am just waiting for the day my boss tells me they are against the dress code.  Once I put them on, I don't take them off.  Don't get your panties in a bunch, I wash them in the shower etc.

Back in the 80s, when the cool thing was to wear the ones made by friends, I literally had thirty of them on my left wrist.  The one picture of me that is my favorite, is of me and my bracelets.  Then, in the 90s, I had many silver bracelets on my left wrist.  This was not allowed during nursing school when I had my time actually taking care of patients.  I would take them all off, do my nursing stuff, and put them all right back on. People thought I was nuts.  It was who I was.  Now having all these new bracelets on, I kind of feel like I'm back there, being all younger and hipper.

Anything that happens to make me happy, always ends up being taken away.  So I'm just waiting for the day my boss notices.  Hopefully, she will remain oblivious as she is to most things.

Now on to the mani.  Here is the silly bottle shot.

This is Essie Twin Sweater Set, Sable Collar and Shearling Darling.  Why the stupid names to Essies, I have no idea.

I started with skittles.

I am so missing my sun shots!!!  I'm not sure about that middle finger one.  Seems like a weird color to me. Next I stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM 411.

I finished this off with a new nail charm bow and my funky.  Here are the results.

I kind of like this one. I was totally in a red mood and this fulfilled that nicely.  I'm also loving my new nail charm.  I have more, but they are so big, it takes up my whole nail.  Not sure if that is a good look or not.

I'm going back on my formaldehyde treatment.  I have gone six months with just oil and my nails are not growing and they are peeling something awful.  I'll be doing a combination of moisture and formaldehyde. I need to do something.  I've got some NailTek coming and will also be ordering some DermaNail.  Spent yesterday studying Loodie's blog and her tomes on nail care.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Return of Classic Fingers

I've had the last two weeks from hell. It has not been pretty.  Seems cancer has exploded and it's overwhelming me.  I have had bad days, bad weeks, but two weeks in a row?  Unprecedented.  I left work each Friday balling my eyes out from the stress.  I even made a mistake, which I am wont to admit.  Nothing life threatening or anything like that, but my nature is high Type A, anal, mistakes are not allowed person. It's how I've always been.  I've been struggling to keep up the facade and keep up with the workload.  If this continues, I'm going to implode.  From my experience however, these things come and go in cycles.  It's been way too quiet for a while now, so this was bound to happen.

Because of this, I have not felt the inspiration to come up with fantabulous manis.  I wanted to just do a mani for me.  I needed to do this.  I'm tired of trying to compete if you will with the pretty, long nailed blogazons and I have decided to just do for me.  I can't do anything else right now.

In keeping with the mani for me, I of course, had to pick colors I love right?

Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Essie Vested Interest and After School Boy Blazer with my all time favorite polish, Chanel Khaki Brun.  You know a mani for me had to have brown in it right?

I started with skittles.

The sun continues to remain elusive and I need holos bad!  I know you probably think these colors don't go together, but again this is a ME mani and I just picked colors that made me happy at the time.

Next I stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM 406.

Next I added a holo heart stud to my accent nail and finished it off with my funky. It had to have a funky right?

Do you see the mistake in the close up shot?  I originally tried to stamp with Brun, but it wasn't right.  The beauty of using Seche as a top coat over your base, is that if you make a mistake, you can use non acetone remover and gently remove the mistake without messing up the underneath.  I do it all the time.  It's a cool trick, except here when I didn't get it all off!  You can't see this IRL though.

The funny thing about this Classic Fingers?  It went viral on Instagram.  This account who has literally 650,000 followers put me on her site and this mani was liked 20,000 times!  Have to say, that kind of told me something.

To stick to what I do best.  Stamping and Funkying.  Screw the people who don't like it.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
