Rainbow Pinwheels

Man did I set off a flurry of rants from my last post saying that I think if you only do one hand, it's cheating. Let me just say that this is only my opinion but I do see what others are saying.  I guess it's the way I set up my nail schedule that except for Saturday, I'm at work the next day and must have a complete and matching mani. But there are others out there who do swatch fests to have back up posts and only do four nails and I get that.

This is why I love telling my stories.  I love to stir things up and see how others think.  It's one of the reasons why I do this blog.  I never wanted it to be solely about nail polish.

You may notice a few changes to my blog.  I had the pictures in my header updated and I spent a bazillion hours installing the social media buttons I had created for me to better match my dot background.  I didn't like how messy having all the logos from the different social media glommed on my sidewall.  Let me tell you, it probably would have taken five minutes for the person who created these buttons to install them for me, but I just hate feeling stupid and I really wanted to learn and do it myself.  So two hours later, I have pretty social media buttons that I hope are working.  I did test them but please let me know if there is an issue.

Want to give a huge thank you shout out to Jen, my blog guru, who created my blog background, buttons and header.  She runs Just Foolin Blog Designs.  If you ever actually made it to the very bottom of my blog page, you'd see this but I never make it to others, so I don't expect people to see my bottom!  HAHA.  I made a little funny there!  Anyway, Jen rocks and is always easy to work with.

Now on to what may be one of the best manis I've done thus far.  Sadly, you have already seen this if you paid attention to my blog header.  Yup it's made it to the header.  That means it's a good one!

WOW that's a lot of polish eh?  This is Lime Crime Milky Way, Rescue Beauty Lounge Iconoclast, Llarowe White Wedding, Betting 15, Orange, Yellow, Green, Aqua and Purple.

I started with a layer of Milky Way topped with a layer of White Wedding.  I wanted a little sparkle to shine through.  Here is that step.

It didn't come out quite the way I anticipated but it didn't really matter because I covered most of it up.

Now once again, I was so determined in this design that I forgot the step pictures. It's like that in the next few posts.  I'm gonna apologize early for that!

I'm warning you ahead of time-this took me three hours to do!  I placed the tape and carefully colored in each triangle.  It was a painful task.  But just see how freakin cool the results are.

After carefully peeling off the tape, I added the black dot in the center.  I am totally loving this mani.  I got SO many compliments on it that I didn't want to take it off.  It was worth the time it took.

I figure I can't draw for sh*t, but I can do striping tape.

Aren't you glad I joined Instagram?  It's what's been inspiring me.
