Geometric Fun

I have to say I'm especially excited and proud of the mani I'm about to show you.  It took a long time and I only did one hand.  Now to me, that's cheating.  If you don't do both hands, then you're not doing your nails you're just doing art.  If you can't do it on both hands, then it's not a manicure.

These are my thoughts.  I'm sure there are others who disagree.  I know there are swatchers out there who only do four fingers on one hand.  I guess that's how they post every day I don't know.  I've always done both hands.  Except for today and I'm admitting to it.  This one just took so long and I just didn't think I'd be able to do it on the other hand.  I'm determined that the next one will be on both hands, especially since I can't go to work with my hands not matching!

Remember how I told you that I let loose at work and told on my coworkers?  Well I really didn't think anything was going to come of it.  Nothing ever changes around there.  I was wrong this time.  They had a meeting with two of my coworkers and they are now expected to do some of their work like I do. Remember how I told you how uneven and unfair it was?  The stupid thing is, instead of both nurses having to do their own thing, they are expected to take the place of one care partner. Really? That just seems a stupid waste of a degree if you're going to replace a care partner who's been running the clinic with two degreed nurses?  Who am I to say anything? At least they've made a change.  Funny thing is their reaction.

I was not there when it happened but I was told they were all bitching and moaning. It's one clinic split between the two of them!  I have three clinics by myself!  They really have no room to moan.  Just means maybe they'll actually have to do some work.

I'm not a mean person, I just hate when the playing field isn't equal.  You know?

All right. On to the main event.  The coolest mani I've done in quite some time.

Here's your silly bottle shot.

Yup another Bettina fest!  And two of these are actually purple IRL.  This is Vintage, 27, Flip Flops and Orchidea.

I started with three colors for the base.  Here is that step.

I did remember to at least show you the next step.  I placed a lot of striping tape to make a pattern. Here it is.

Now you see why I only did one hand!  This took forever!  I next took an art brush and filled in all the diamonds then added a couple of dots.  Here are the very cool results.

Now this is far from perfect, especially when you're up this close to it!  I intentionally wanted the diamonds to have that washed out look. I think that makes it look even cooler.

Then the sun came out so I added a layer of Colores de Carol's Holo Blast top coat.  Here is that step.

This Holo Blast is perfect!  Sometimes these holo toppers are too heavy and cover up the colors instead of adding a little sparkle.  This one is just right and I love it! I'm not sure if I like this better with or without the holo sparkle.  I think they are both pretty awesome!

I'm pretty proud of myself for this one and I have an even better idea for my next post.  I hope it turns out as well as it is in my head.  Plus I will be doing BOTH hands this time.

Do you think it's cheating if you only do one hand?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
