Got the Blues in a Good Way

Today's mani may even top my last post.  I have been trying to expand my designs and trying to do cooler things so I'm not stuck in the rut I've been in.

Not sure if you guys have heard of this polish subscription service called Square Hue. They send you three polish each month in colors they choose that so far kind of symbolize that month.  I missed out on the first set from December, but two of the blues for today were from their January set.  Two wintery shimmery blues and the third one being a frosty shimmery white. That one just didn't go with my idea for today.  I have received February's colors and I'm sure you can guess they are pinks and reds.  I'll be wearing those next.  You don't get to see the colors ahead of time or choose other colors like Julep, but so far, I kind of like it.

Let's start with the silly bottle shot since this is a picture heavy post.

On the bottom are the two Square Hue polish in Midnight Flurries and Glacier Skies. On top are Picture Polish Cosmos (AGAIN!!) and Pretty Serious Hot Summer Nights (AGAIN!!)  You can see the striping tape I used as well as my dotting tool.

I started with Flurries, which is a light blue shimmer with scattered holo sprinkles and an accent of Glacier.  I have to say the Glacier was a problem polish.  It dried faster than I could place it and was streaky to start with.  I did however, love the Flurries and the stiff brush to apply the polish.

Here are the starting shots.

Oh how I am loving this Flurries!!  You cannot buy these on their own, trust me I asked. They come along and are discontinued after that month has past.  Kind of Limited Edition each and every month.

First thing I did was place a piece of tape and did a thick funky stripe using Cosmos. Here is that step.

Remember my Cosmos post had no sun?  Isn't it gorgeous in the sun????  Next I placed two pieces of tape to make a thick stripe toward the cuticle of my nail.  I used Summer Nights for that stripe. Here is that step.

Pretty cool so far right?  I next decided that the spaces needed something.  So I added dots to both spaces using the original Glacier, Flurries and Cosmos.  Here are the awesome results.

Oh how awesome is this?? I am totally loving this!!!  I think I like this better than leaving the tape on.  No lifting of the sides of the tape.  Also, this is for date #2 with too busy guy, who has found more time to see me!  Woohoo!  We shall see how this goes!

**EDIT** Date went well and we are talking about #3!  I've made it past the first date!  Let's see what happens!!

Are you guys happy with these last two manis?  I'm trying to keep my peeps happy and trying new things.  I hope you are liking them.

PS-My giveaway officially ended at midnight today.  I will announce the winner on Valentine's Day!

Stay tuned, my 21 Bettina have officially shipped and should arrive soon!  I cannot wait!!!!

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?
