Blue Skies Ahead-

I want to apologize to all the people I wigged out with my spider pictures on a previous post.  I did warn that they were coming and to skip ahead!  He has moved to my living room screen and I'm afraid he wants to come in-

Anywho, I also said I wasn't going to talk about my online dating anymore-but I feel like it today.  Isn't it a girl's prerogative to change her mind?  The date I had was nice, but the next day I was told he just wants to be friends.  Obviously, he just isn't worthy of my greatness.  I did receive a message from a guy who gave me his IQ and his penis size.  I did not respond back to that one.  He then sent another at 3:30 AM asking to meet for breakfast.  Really?  So it's back to the drawing board for me.  I am talking to two others.  We shall see what happens.  I am older and wiser and am just not going to waste my time on any more dates unless they are truly worthy.

We start today with two brands that have not been featured here before.  Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Lime Crime Pastelchio and Make Up Forever Noir Vert.  I paid WAY too much money for these Make Up Forever polish not knowing they are MINIS!  At least, they could easily be one coaters had I been more careful.  So that at least makes up for some of it.

I started with Noir Vert and an accent of Pastelchio.  Here are the starting shots. Please note that the blue skies are back in my pictures.  The sun angle is back to get these shots.

Is that not the most gorgeous blackened green?  I love how the sparkles show in the sun shots.  The Pastelchio is thick and the brush is wonky, but very saturated and will make for very awesome stamping, which is why I bought this set of pastels in the first place.

I next stamped with the opposite color using Cheeky plate 33-I have to admit Cheeky did make a good set this time.  I topped it off with a thin funky just for something a little different.  Here are the results.

How awesome is that blue sky?  That's why the title is what it is.  Plus, I'm not going to let a stupid man that I barely know make me feel bad anymore.  They should feel lucky that I'm even giving them the time of day.  So it's blue skies ahead for me!

I do love how nice the Lime Crime stamps.  Going to try another color next and see how that does.

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Holo Aliens

I'm sitting here trying to come up with words of wisdom, crap that entices and makes you want more. But I'm at a loss.  I am home sick today and figured I'd write a post and do my nails.  Isn't that what you do when you are home sick?  I also have big plans for a nap and magazine reading.  It is chilly here this morning and I love it.  There is nothing like lying on the couch snuggled under a pile of blankets and kitties.

As for the online dating stories, I'm just not sure my heart is into it right now.  It seems that either I'm a failure at picking them or keeping them.  Unless I get a really good story to tell, I'm going to leave that alone for now.  I know you guys have enjoyed them and I'm sorry to have to stop for now.

To match my mood for today, I decided I needed a dark mani.  Here is your silly bottle shot.

This is Pretty&Polished Black Swan and Enchanted Polish Disco Barbie.  I am quite liking this pink holo-

I started with Black Swan.  This is a black holo, it is a true black whereas Enchanted Polish Midnight is a charcoal black grey.  I wanted black for today's mood.  Here are the starting shots.

Isn't this great?  You know how I just love my holos.  Maybe I should count and see just how many I have.  Anyone want to guess??

Next I stamped with Barbie and Cheeky plate 32.  It has a bunch of silly looking aliens on it. My nails don't quite show more than one.  I topped it off with my funky as always. Here are the results.

Isn't this a great color combination?  I am loving these cute little aliens!  So did you guess how many holos I own?  55! 28 of which are Enchanted Polish!  OMG-now I am wishing I hadn't counted because that is just proving how many polish I have in the rest of my collection if one or two shelves contain 55!  I have 5 bookcases full and need to build the 6th one.

I do believe I have a problem..........

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Date Nails

So here's the post you've all been waiting for.  I have been chronicling my online dating for a while now and had my first date yesterday.  Of course you will be reading this days after-but as I write it, the feelings and happenings are still fresh in my mind.

I asked him what his favorite color is and he said red.  I figured I'm come up with this fabulous red creation that would just make his heart stop.  Obviously, for guys, they don't give a sh*t about nail polish, so my excitement did not translate to his.  He thanked me for doing them for him and went on with the conversation.  I don't think it would have mattered if I had naked nails or fancy nails.  That is just not a guy thing.

We watched two movies, "Cabin in the Woods" and "Prince of Darkness."  I have told you before that I love scary movies.  After that, we just hung out and talked and I think it went well.  I think he likes me and I like him-but when you are in your forties, dating is much harder.  People have their own stuff going on,  there is not as much free time as when you're younger with less responsibilities.  We are in the process of figuring out when we will even see each other again.  So the question is-what's the point?  If you only see each other once every weekend or every other, how do you get the quality time when the quantity isn't there?  Is it something that at my age is all I'm going to get?  Is that enough? I'm not sure I can do this anymore.  It's too hard.

So instead of the silly bottle shot-come on, we all know what the bottle looks like, I thought I'd share with you a creepy but pretty spider living outside my house.  At least it's not INSIDE my house. For the squeamish, you will want to skip the next two pictures.

I was not about to get close enough for a clearer picture!  But this spider does have pretty bright yellow stripes.  I can see the beauty of nature sometimes as long as nature stays outside!

I decided to do a red fest for my date.  I used all Bettina for this.  I started with #15, which is a bright cherry red creme.  I forgot the Ott Lite for this part-but here are the sun shots.

Oh so sexy right?  I was running out of time to do the elaborate mani I had in mind, so I was forced to do quick and easy dots.  I used Bettina Chic and Bordeaux.  Here is that step.

I then added a few more dots using Ruby, the only shimmer in this mani, and topped it off with my funky with Ruby again.  Here are the results.

This is certainly NOT my best work.  I thought afterwords that I should have done my funky in black, but then thought it'd look like a ladybug.

I'm not good at this dating stuff.  Maybe it's just not for me.  I'm told to just enjoy what we have now.  I'm not looking for marriage or anything remotely close to that, but am not sure that this is enough for me.  I plan on still looking and going with the flow. That's all I can do for right now.

What do you guys think?  Am I being unreasonable?  I've been out of practice in the dating scene for a long time.  Have things changed?  Is this how things are now?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Battle lost & a Blowfish

Well people, I fought the good fight and lost.  I never thought Blogger would go through with their threat.  Until Thursday, I was content in my old Blogger interface.  Imagine my shock and dismay when I woke up to a foreign dashboard.  I have been forced into the new Blogger interface and I hate it.  I have already sent them a scathing feedback.  Yes childish and immature, but made me feel oh so much better. This is the first post I am writing with the new, so if there are mistakes, blame it on Blogger.

I mentioned last post that I had many new Enchanted Polish to show you.  Today we are starting with my favorite, which of course is a brown holo.  You had to know that was coming right?

My next post will feature my date nails and an update as to how that first date went. Stay tuned for that.

Here is your silly bottle shot for today.

This is Enchanted Polish Hot Chocolate and Estee Lauder Bete Noire.  You can also see my new set of Cheeky plates that finally came in from China.

I started with Hot Chocolate.  Now I did show you another brown holo that Elevation Polish made just for me.  It is not the same brown.  This one is a darker brown.  Here are the starting shots.

Gorgeous right?  I'm telling you, Chelsea is a holo genius for sure.  Next I simply stamped with Bete using Cheeky plate 38.  I added my funky using the same Bete. Here are the results.

Yes I know it is hard to see the design.  It's the cutest blowfish with bubble eyes surrounded by more bubbles.  It is so cute.  I have to admit that this plate stamped very well.  I'm not such a big fan of Cheeky.  I won't go into details.

Is this not holo-licious?  I am in love with this brown holo goodness!

So anyone else out there who rebelled against Blogger and refused to upgrade until forced?  Shall we revolt and all move to Wordpress? I jest-I don't want to lose my GFC widget! I have my limits people!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
