Lemon Groove

Two days and I'm on vacation! WOOHOO!  You have no idea just how badly I need this break of 13 days.  Just no idea.  It's been pretty stressful for me lately and I just need to be away from my life and just play with my niece and fish my heart out!  Plus, I just love a good road trip and I'd call 9 hours in a car a good road trip!

The sun has finally decided it was time to come out and play.  So I did manage a few sun shots for today.

First up, my passport to vacation's silly bottle shot.

Yup, I have my passport all ready to go!  This is Estee Lauder Blue Blood and Takko Lacquer Lemon Macaroon.  I told you about this Takko Lacquer last time.  I have more to show you!

I started with the Lemon with an accent of Blue.  Here are the starting shots.

This Lemon has the most gorgeous yellow shimmer in it.  Wait til later and it'll pop!  I am loving the formula on these Estee Lauder polish.  Just perfection.  I next stamped with the opposite color using SDP plate M.  Here is that step.

You can see some of the shimmer coming out-but just wait!  I finished with my funky of course and the sun came out for this part.  Here are the awesome groovy results.

Isn't this stunning?   Yes the title is meant to be groovy as in this feels like the 70s type of design to me.  I was not referring to a lemon grove where they are growing. Pretty slick eh?  Did you get my drift before?

I am loving the shimmer in this.  It is just gorgeous!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

I'm Nude

I'm back people.  F*ck them if they don't like me.  They just aren't worth my time.  Sorry for the bad mood last post.  I try not to let that interfere with my blogging, but I just couldn't that day.  Am trying really hard to get back to baseline.  Am almost there I think.

Am actually sitting here in the dark.  The power just went out.  Good thing my new computer has a lit up keyboard eh?  I was in the middle of washing clothes, so I don't know what that means for the cycle when the power comes back on.  Guess we shall find out eh?  The crazy thing is, all the storms went through last night and now it's just calm and 7AM.  Why did the power go out now?  Very weird.  It's dead silence in my house and it's spooky.  I always have the TV going for background noise, now all I hear are birds screeching.  Hopefully this won't last too long.

So people I have discovered a new Etsy shop and there are the most beautiful shimmers, I just couldn't resist.  I lost out on one I really wanted, maybe next time it shall be mine!  Again, the sun was hiding-been quite a while now and it's getting old. There are very few pictures for this post, since I went simple. But trust, it's oh so freakin awesome.

First up, the boring silly bottle shot.

This is Takko Lacquer Blushing Nude and Estee Lauder Black Plum.  Oh yeah, this is my first Estee Lauder and I am in love people.  The formula on this was perfection.

I started with Blushing Nude.  This is my mannequin hands color but it has the most gorgeous pink shimmer running through it.  I so wish I had the sun to show this off more.  The formula was a little thick, but I prefer that to thin.  My accent nail of Black Plum is the most gorgeous blackened plum burgundy creme.  I also just love the shape of the bottle.  Here is the first step.

You get a glimpse of the pink shimmer in the first picture.  It is more present in real life. I thought this Plum would go great with that shimmer.  Plus, is this not my perfect mannequin hands color?  I rarely reach for nude polish.  This may be the only one I own!

Next I stamped with SDP plate M with the opposite color and topped it off with my funky.  Simple yet stunning.  Here are the results.

I told you there weren't many pictures!  Hope the sun comes back soon!  Isn't this great?  I am loving this big time.  Simple but awesome.  I love how these two colors just go so well together!

I have two more Estee Lauders to show you and two more Takko Lacquers to show you.

Cross your fingers my power won't be off for long!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

I've Got My Christmas Green Ready

I'm not in a very good mood right now.  I wish I could tell you why but I just can't.  Have you ever wanted something so badly, that you were like a bull in a china shop and just left damage and devastation in your wake? And the thing you wanted so badly was crushed because of you? That's where I am right now.  The only thing I've got right now is the fact that it's cool and raining and I love the rain.  I also have you guys out there, who actually read the drivel and mundane thoughts I post on here.  Thank you for that.

Since I just told you it's raining, that means no sun shots again.  There are also very few pictures today as well.  Not nearly as many as I normally post because of that.

Since I had gotten in my new SDP plates, I saw the exact design I will be sporting for Christmas.  All I needed was the perfect color.  I think I have found the perfect Christmas green to go with that stamp you will see on Christmas day.

First up, the silly, lacking creativity, bottle shot.

This is Picture Polish White Wedding and Kryptonite.  I'm sure you all saw the many, many blogs that touted the arrival of these new polish so I won't go into that here. Suffice it to say, the sun would have made these so much more gorgeous.

I started with WW, which is a crelly white with the most gorgeous tiny holo shimmer in it. You can't see it in my pictures, but oh yeah, it's there.  I did an accent of Kryptonite, which is the perfect evergreen with green and white shimmer in it. Here is that step.

Ott Lite

If I were going to wear this for more than 5 minutes, I would have done a third layer of WW.  Next I stamped with SDP plate L and the same colors.  Here is that step.

Ott Lite

Ott Lite
Obviously, the WW does not stamp well, but I knew that and didn't care.  If I were going to stamp on this green, I'd use Whirlwind White.  I next realized that after my dotting craze, I kind of left it behind. So I added some green dots and my funky.  Here are the final results.

As much as I love the rain, it surely doesn't help me when I do my blog photos!  I am betting this White Wedding and Kryptonite would be absolutely stunning in the sunshine.  I will be revisiting this again.  Isn't this the perfect green though?  Just wait til you see what I have in store for my Christmas mani!

Do you already know what you're wearing on your nails this Christmas?

Until next time people. Any thoughts out there?

Dark,Vampy but Meh?

I stole a word my BFF Sarah at Spellbinding Nails always uses.  Meh-means it's ok but I'm not overly thrilled with it.  I was trying out a new sequence of layering, kind of like Canadian Nail Fanatic has been doing lately.  The sun has been in hiding for a while, so I didn't get sunshine shots and I think those would have really made this all better. Maybe if it comes out today, I will try to snap some and add them later.  There is a lot of tip wear.

My online dating is still ongoing.  I am currently "talking" with three different men. Does that make me a 'ho'? But have yet to meet any of them in person or talk on the phone as of today.  You guys have heard my stories so I'm sure you understand my wariness. These three seem very nice.  But it's only been two days so the jury is still out.  At least it's conversation right? Oh here's the latest scam story. Dude writes me how beautiful I am and OMG and all that crap.  I say to him, thank you but don't you have anything else to say? Oh and full disclosure, this guy was freaking HOT.  Then he tells me how he pays all this money in child support and really doesn't do anything and it's tough at times yada yada yada.  I write back, I don't do much either and I never hear from him again.  I ask my girlfriends and they tell me he was looking for a sugar mama and when I didn't say "that's ok honey, I'll pay for everything" he went elsewhere.  I'm sure he will find what's he's looking for.

On to the mani.  Here is your silly bottle shot for today.

This is my tackle-box stocked and ready to go on vacation!  Come on Labor Day!!!! Inside, this is OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest and Lynnderella Connect the Dots.  I had to have this OPI when I saw it.  I have neglected my no buy lately.  The Fall colors get me every time!

I started with the OPI.  I loved this color so much I didn't even do my normal accent nail. Here are the starting shots.

You've got to trust me that this is one gorgeous shimmery winey eggplant color.  It is stunning.  I next added a layer of Connect the Dots.  Here is that step.

Ott Lite

I get that you can't see the black glitter.  That wasn't the point.  I don't have plain white glitter anymore.  I next stamped with Sally Hansen Whirlwind White using plate SDP M. Here is that step.

Ott Lite

Ott Lite
I wish this came out as cool as Canadian Nail Fanatic's.  She has done glitter under stamping and for her it just worked.  Maybe if the base color was lighter?  Anywho, the final step, you all know it my funky in the original OPI color.  Here are the results.

I think overall this is kind of cool.  Just not as cool as I thought it would be.  I definitely am loving this OPI color and plan to wear it again and again!

Do you have a word like Meh for when you do something subpar for your mani?  Thank you to Sarah for telling me this word!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

I duped myself!

I went along as I always do. I stared at my polish trying to come up with a good idea for a mani.  I was feeling confident since my last one was so awesome (in my own mind I'm sure!).  I had my colors picked out, I had my plate picked out and when I was all done, I was seriously having a sense of deja vu.  Big time. I then realized that I had duped myself and recreated something I had already done but with different colors.

Have you ever done that before?  Thought you were coming up with a brand new design only to realize you'd been there done that? Well here is mine!

Oh and my once a year fishing trip is almost here!  Last year I had posts all lined up to go while I was gone, but I didn't have the time nor the energy to do that this year.  So I will either do them on the fly or you'll just have to miss me for a few days.  It won't hurt too bad I promise!  Plus, it'll be the return of my niece and her mani concoctions!

Here is your silly bottle shot for today.

This is Rescue Beauty Lounge Diddy Mow, Lilacquer Lycanthrope and RBL Yellow Fever.

I started with Yellow Fever and an accent of Diddy.  The Yellow took three coats and there is hidden shimmer but you can't see it in my pictures.  You'll have to trust me. Here are the starting shots.

That yellow is gorgeous isn't it?  I think these two colors are great together.  Next I stamped with SDP plate L and the opposite color.  Here is that step.

Are you having deja vu yet?  Do you remember this one?  If not, don't worry, I'll link you back!  I next added a layer of Lycanthrope for sparkle and ended with my funky.  Here is the final step.

This is a cool mani in its own right.  I am just flabbergasted that I thought this was an original, but sadly it is not.  Here is the link to the previous jungle mani. If you are lazy like I am and don't click on links, here is a picture from that post.

Ott Lite
So have you ever done this before?  Please lie to me and tell me you have so I don't feel as if I've run out of ideas and getting senile in my old age!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?
