My new favorite stamp design

Oh people. I have been sitting in front of this computer for two hours now.  I couldn't get the internet to connect and now the photo program that comes with this computer is wigging out. I have had to restart this computer over 5 times now.  I have to admit, I'm getting ready to cry.  I hate being made to feel stupid and this computer is doing a bang up job of it.

I tried uploading a photo and the Windows Live photo program literally starting flashing and the same error message kept appearing.  I couldn't close it or do anything but force a reboot.  I cannot figure out what I am doing. I will need to call tech support later today when they open.  I did call Samsung and they confirmed that the space bar only works if you hit it in the middle on purpose.  That this is not defective.  Apparently, people were complaining that they accidentally would hit the space bar while typing.  So I have to relearn my aim for a space!

I am so tired of rambling to you guys about my computer woes.  If there is anyone out there who knows Windows 7 and can help me, please use my contact tab or leave me a comment with your email.  I am at the point of sending this sucker back and just sticking with my old trusty.

In other news, I have cut all my hair off.  No I will not show you a picture, because then my face would be revealed.  This is not happening here today!  I can tell you that for most of my life, I have had very short hair and it's only been the last few years that I have had long hair. I told no one that I was doing it, so when I showed up at work the next day everyone freaked out.  It really is a huge change to go from chin length bob to a short spikey 'do.  It is similar to what I had in high school.  People at work are all saying how sexy and hot I look now.  Makes me wonder what they thought I looked like before!  Was I a schlub?  Maybe that's why no cute boy has hit on me on my online dating adventure!  I did just update those pics so we shall see!

On to the task at hand.  Here is the silly bottle shot of today.

Now what is wrong with this picture?  The Samsung is upside down!  So when I am using the laptop, other people can see the brand name right side up.  This is advertising for Samsung.  My dad gave me his pet peeve regarding stuff like this.  Like when you buy a car and they put the name of the dealership on the back of your car or around the license plate.  This is free advertising for that dealership and we hate that.  I learned by listening to my dad bitch about this.  So now, I always remove those dealership things myself or make them do it.  It makes me want to remove the Samsung logo off this laptop!

Damn I am in a chatty mood today!  This is OPI Roadhouse Blues, Elevation Polish Pic de Sotillo and Lilacquer Selkie.

I started with the Pic.  Once again, it was raining so I have only Ott Lite shots. Here is that step.

I know you are thinking this looks like Nails Inc Baker Street.  Yes it is similar but Baker Street is lighter in blueness. I do own both.

Next I stamped with Bundle Monster plate 306 with Sally Hansen Whirlwind White. Here is that step.

I added a close up here so you could see all the detail that this stamp contains.  Is this not stunning?  I am in love with this design.  You will be seeing this one again.

I then added a layer of Selkie for shimmer.  Here is that step.

Ott Lite
I think for the first time, I am wishing I hadn't added Selkie.  I just think it takes away from this gorgeous blue.  I finished it off with my funky with Roadhouse.  Here are the results.

I think this is gorgeous.  Bundle Monster really did themselves proud with this new set. This design even surpasses my love of the houndstooth pattern. That's huge!

What do you guys think? Is there anyone out there who can help my computer woes? Also, I ordered Photoshop as my new watermarking program.  I can't wait to get that!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

I'm seeing spots

It's a monumental day here at FPM!  You all should know by now, that I am a brown fanatic.  I have so many brown polish it's insane.  But guess what.  I have found the brown that beats all browns.

Before the unveiling, you know I have to tell a story!  I've been telling you all about my new computer.  It's freakin amazing.  I'm sorry to gush so, but you have no idea just how old my other laptop was and how tech a licious this new one is. Yes I just made up a new word.

I have basically figured out the touchpad, but still struggling with the spacebar.  It only works if you hit it in the middle. Not the left, not the right only the middle.  I consider myself a pretty fast typer and this is slowing me down.  I have moved all my music from the old to the new. Only had to pay $25. Why does everything have to cost money?  I have yet to move over my Picmarkr program because I have lost the license key.  I really don't want to pay another $40 but if I must, I must.  This is the program I use to watermark my photos.  I'm sure there are better programs out there, I may research some, but I am used to Picmarkr.  Any suggestions out there?  I know about Photoshop-but don't know how much that costs.  I have emailed the company and have not heard back yet.  So I am watermarking on the old laptop and then moving the pics to the new. Kind of laborious, but necessary at this time.

Ok enough stalling!  Here is your silly bottle shot of today.

Now you knew I just had to show you this beauty!  This is off, but the keys light up when it's on. It's cool!  I like having the separate number section on the right.  Growing up, one of my chores was to check the math of my dad's employees.  I learned how to use the machine lightning fast so I could go out and have fun.  So I can now use the numbers without even looking at them.

This is Rescue Beauty Lounge Poco a Poco.  Yes people, this is a dusky pink with a bronzey shimmer.  Then Elevation Polish Monturull which is a gorgeous brown with a bronzey shimmer as well. I thought the shimmers on these would go nicely together. Finally there is Lilacquer Kitsune.

I started with Poco with an accent of Monturull.  Now it was raining, so I have only Ott Lite shots for today.  Here is that step.

Is this not the most gorgeous brown you've ever seen?  The color of melted milk chocolate with shimmer.  Oh I am in love people.  I need to do a whole mani using this and get sun shots to show off that shimmer.  Believe it or not,  I really think this pink is pretty.  It's not Barbie pink. It has sophistication to it.

Next I stamped using Monturull and plate SDP-L.  Here is that step.

Pretty cool so far right?  Next I added dots with OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys.  Yes it just dawned on me that I left that out of the bottle shot.  I'm sure you know what OPI looks like!  Here is that step.

Ott Lite

Ott Lite
Still with me here?  Next I added a layer of Kitsune, which is like Selkie, but with red shimmer.  Here is that step.

Ott Lite

I agree, it's hard to see.  I wish the sun had come out for this!  I ended, as always, with my funky using Monturull and Suzi.  Here are the glorious results.

I think this is really cool.  You will be seeing this brown again.  Maybe very soon!

I think I need a tutorial for Windows 7. Stuff keeps happening while I'm typing and I don't know why.  Stuff moves around, things light up.  It's freakin me out!

Does this brown make you as happy as it does me?

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Layers and Sprinkles

So I got my new computer and it is really great and really frustrating at the same time. It definitely is kicking my ass.  I had to call and get help to get on the internet.  Now I can't figure out how to get my music off my iphone to my itunes.  It is driving me batty. Plus my space bar is touchy.  I don't know if I'm just not hitting it in the right place or what but it is taking some getting used to!

The way cool thing is that this sucker is fast.  I mean lightning fast.  The mousepad is sort of like a touch screen so I find things happening that I didn't mean to happen. I have yet to figure that out.  It boots up in like 9 seconds and the keyboard is all lit up. Very nice.  I have a lot to learn to get the full enjoyment out of this. I just know once I do, this thing is going to be way cool.

Today we are delving into layering and purple. Here is your silly bottle shot.

Check it out! It's a dude's club daguerreotype!  I just love these. I still have more to show you.  This is Rescue Beauty Lounge Purple Haze, Zoya Pinta, Sephora Silver Rain, Elevation Polish Pic de Subenuix and Girly Bits Cosmic Ocean.

I started with Purple Haze.  This is a gorgeous purple creme.  Here is this step.

Isn't this stunning?  I totally think so.  I didn't even do my normal accent nail.  I next added a layer of  Pic which is a purple with blue shimmer.  Here is that step.

Sun

Ott Lite
Kind of reminds me of Scrangie.  I then did a layer of Cosmic Ocean.  Here is that step.

Sun

Kind of made it too blue. Took away from the purpleness!  I then added a layer of Silver Rain which is a clear base with holo bar glitter in it.  This was sent to me from Rainbowify Me.  She was nice enough to send it to me when I couldn't find it for myself!

I know what you are thinking.  I really dig bar glitter! I finished this off with Pinta and my funky.  Here are the results.

Trust me, you cannot see those bubbles in real life. Only on macro.  I have no idea what I did to get those! Isn't this gorgeous though?  I still think it went too blue, but still gorgeous!

I also want to announce that Michaela T. won the Elevation Polish giveaway.  She has been contacted and her polish has been shipped.  Thank you to all who entered!

Until next time people.  Any thoughts out there?

Teal Overload

For all you teal lovers out there, this one's gonna get you very excited.  I have sneak peek colors of the August Elevation Polish collection to show you!  Yup you get to see them here first!

I also have very exciting news to share!  I'm finally getting a new computer!  You have no idea how excited this is making me!  Currently, I am sporting an approximately ten year old laptop hand me down.  One of my friends gave it to me years ago.  Now don't get me wrong, this laptop has done very well throughout the past years. It's what I blog on and do all my online stuff.  The bummer is I'm on Internet Explorer like 5, although I use Google Chrome so it doesn't really matter and Windows XP.  Also I cannot unplug it from the AC outlet because the battery no longer holds a charge.  Not very cool if you're on a laptop right?

Anyway, I went on Consumer Reports, yes I do my research and read reviews from others on big items, and found that they recommended either a Samsung or a MAC. Now I have dreamed of owning a MAC, but it costs $800 more and I'd have to learn a whole new way of computing.  I'm pretty proficient fixing my own issues so was leery of having to learn a whole new operating system.

I ended up with a Samsung Series 7, I don't need the latest and greatest Series 9, but this badboy has a terabyte of memory and was on super sale saving myself about $350!  My only concern now is having to get ten years of stuff off one computer on to the other.  That's sure to be a project!

OK enough sharing of my excitement.  I know you Teal lovers are like, "get on with it would ya?"

Here is your ultra cool silly bottle shot of today.

How cool is this?  This is the cage that holds my old bird feeder.  When I was putting it away, I saw a golden opportunity for a bottle shot.

This is Elevation Polish Higravstinden from her new upcoming August collection, Sample #144, Mont Valier from her July collection and Tindur from her new upcoming August collection.  And of course Lilacquer Selkie.

I started with Tindur, which is a gorgeous pale white teal with teal shimmer and an accent nail with Hig, which is a gorgeous teal with teal shimmer.  Here are the starting shots.  My camera is blueing these out.  Please note these have more green in them.

Aren't these gorgeous together?  Those of you who love glitter, there is a heavy teal glitter coming in August to go along with these two colors!

Next I once again grabbed my dotting tools and went to town.  Here is that step.

Ott Lite
Next I added two layers of Selkie and funkied with Mont Valier, which is a dark teal creme.  Again, these are more green teal in real life.  Here are the final results.

Isn't this stunning?  I have not stopped staring at my nails!  I then realized when I was getting ready for work, that my outfit inadvertently matched my nails.  So in the spirit of Marta at Chit Chat Nails, a styled photo for you.

Isn't this hilarious?  I just love how Marta does her photos, plus she's gorgeous!  These are my favorite boots.  I wear them all the time!

These new Elevation Polish colors will be available August 7, 2012.  Mark your calendars because last time she sold out in two hours!
