I'm such a drama queen

Oh Blogger-why do you mock me so? I go to bed with X number of followers and I wake up with less than X. Yes I get up at 5AM and the first thing I do is check my blog.  You aren't a true addict if you don't!  The last few days, Blogger has been messing with my followers.  I even put a note in my last post telling people about it.  Yet it continues.  Are you unfollowing me? If so, please tell me what I've done!! I just can't go on until I know!

I'm such a drama queen aren't I?  And if you've been paying attention, my appliances should arrive on Saturday. If they don't, I would not want to be Sears after I roshambo them.  That's from South Park.  If you don't watch it, you're missing out!

Now on to the polish! Today we have Essie School of Hard Knocks and Bobbing for Baubles from their upcoming winter 2011 collection.  I just had to have these.  You'll see why.

Oh yeah-the silly bottle shots continue!  I started with BFB which is a dusky blue creme.  After I put this on, I fell in love.  It's such a pretty, different blue for me. There's just something about it.  Here are the indoor and outdoor shots.

It's not quite as dark as the pictures are making it out to be.  It is such a pretty blue that I didn't want to cover it up with a stamp.  Oh why lie, I was also feeling very lazy and just didn't feel like it!  I thought SoHK would go so awesome with BFB that I just had to see them together.  I've seen where they are calling SoHK a green, but to me, it's a greyed out dusky blue. Maybe there's some green in it, I don't know.  All I know is that they are so pretty together.

Isn't is pretty?  I love these two colors together.  I wanted to show my homemade holo topcoat.  I haven't gotten it right yet.  I started with WAY too much Spectraflair and then I thinned it out with WAY too much topcoat.  I just can't get it right! Anyone out there with Spectraflair experience please help! I can only assume that it's personal preference how much holo-ness you want.  All I know is I keep going from one extreme to the other.  Check it out.

Yes they are a little blurry! Guess where I took these pictures? In the bathroom at my hairdressers.  I was in there and saw how the holo lit up and snapped these shots to show you!  I just think it needs a smidge more holo powder to be perfect.

So let's all cross our fingers that my appliances come when they should.  Because I am REALLY scary when mad.  Let's also send positive thoughts to my Blogger followers gadget so it'll stop stealing my peeps.

Any thoughts out there in blog land??

Sexy 666

The other day I was reading blogs I follow and one asked what my favorite purple was.  I immediately thought of Essie Sexy Divide.  This is one of the first Essies I ever bought and has been in my stash for years.  One reason I love it is the number on the label. 666.

Now you guys know how much I love scary movies and this 666 is the sign of evil in those movies.  I was in Target the other day and saw Sexy Divide and thought "I wonder if the number is the same now that it is not a salon exclusive."  Nope-the number has been changed to 320 something, I don't remember the exact number but I was bummed that my pretty purple's number had been changed.  Alas, I still have my original.

Here is the preview of what's to come for today-

Yes, this is the pattern on my dinner ware-isn't is cool? It's discontinued like most things I love in life. So I mustn't break a dish!  We have RBL Insouciant, Essie Sexy Divide and CND Ice Blue Sparkle.  Is the anticipation killing you yet?

Sexy Divide is a beautiful blurple with what I think are lighter purple and red shimmers.  It's hard to describe. Plus my camera being stupid as it is makes all purples blue-so take these pictures with a grain of salt-they aren't showing my 666 as it is in real life!

Trust me, it's a much sexier purple in reality.  I just love it so.  I originally wanted to stamp with China Glaze Urban Night, in the bottles they both look awesome together.  When I stamped my thumb to test the CG didn't show at all.  So I switched to one of my other favorite purples, RBL Insouciant.  I have posted this by itself before under the title, 'A polish pick me up.'  Check it out, it's beautiful.  I used BM plate 202 and my funky french.

I have no idea what the hell was wrong with the stamp plate.  But I could not get a clean stamp with this one. Maybe it has a hidden defect.  You can see blobs on my ring and pinky fingers that I could not fix.  The colors are really nice together.  Again, more purple in reality.

The grand finale is CND Ice Blue Sparkle.  I hadn't tried the sparkle effects yet, and don't have a violet one.  I didn't think green would look good so that's how I chose the blue.  After I had used it, I realized it kind of ruined my purple fest.  The blue sparkle kind of took over and masked the whole thing.  Oh well, lesson learned for next time.

It kind of ruined the overall look for me. See how the blue overpowers it?  I preferred it sans sparkle.  But oh how I love my 666!

What do you think?

Also, it has come to my attention that Blogger is stealing my followers.  People who have signed up one day are gone the next.  Please please check to make sure you are still on my list. It may show on yours, but still not be on mine.  One of these days, I will surprise you with another giveaway and I'd hate for you to miss out because Blogger is stupid!!

Have you ever seen a green ladybug?

So here I sit, waiting for the damn dishwasher installer to get here. I asked for the 8-12pm slot and they gave me the 11-3pm slot. Well it's 2:36 as I write this, and still no call from the installer saying they're coming.  I hate this! It really makes me mad to have to sit here waiting thinking they aren't even gonna come.  Such an awful way to spend the day. And guess what-they never showed up! Now I'm pissed!

Anyway, for today's look, I decided I needed some green in my life.  I have been eyeing this color on several blogs lately and finally got it for myself.  Take a look at ManGlaze Nawsome Sauce and Glitter Gal Black holo resting on a beach of shells.

Now I realize that you can't really see the green yet-the ManGlaze polishes have funky art on their bottles.  This polish was made to be a matte, but I'd seen it on other blogs with a shiny top coat and thought it looked even better.  So I didn't even take pictures of the matte state.  You can google that elsewhere.  For me, this green is awesome.  I can't even tell you how cool the shimmer is on this one. You just have to see it.

Can you see the shimmer? It's like all different colors.  It doesn't look anything like this matte.  The shimmer is what makes this so freakin' cool in my opinion.  It may just be my new favorite green-or at least in the top 5!  I then took my Glitter Gal Black holo and stamped with M79 and added my signature funky french.  Here is what happened.

In my head, I thought I was being hip picking a cool green with a black holo.  The minute I saw this, I thought, man that looks like a green ladybug! What have I done? I have to tell you that I am actually digging these two colors together.  I am in love with the shimmer in both these polishes.  I can't stop looking at my nails. However, I am under no delusion that all you will see is a green ladybug.

I also want to point out that this shimmer is all in this polish.  I did not use any of my CND effects to make this happen, although I may add it at a later date just to see what happens.

This Nawsome Sauce is a shimmerfest party on your nails. I give it two thumbs up.

What about you?

I'm pretty as a Peacock

Before we get to the business at hand, I wanted to direct your attention to my blog address.  I'm a DOT COM! Please update your browsers, but you should be redirected from my old blogspot address.  Ain't I the Sh*t? At least in my own mind right?  I would also like to thank all my readers and followers for leaving such awesome comments, letting me know you care.  It really means a lot to me.

Ok, enough with the mushy sentimental crap.  Maybe you could tell by my title, lame as it is, that I would be featuring Joe Fresh Peacock today.  If you couldn't tell, well now you know.  I also will be showing you a little soupcon of Julep Amy.  That's French-look it up!

Here is today's silly bottle shot amongst my Christmas lights.  Yes I keep them up year round.  Why not?

Oh how I love Christmas lights!!  Anyway, this Peacock is a shimmery blue green loveliness.  I think it's divine.   Here are the indoor and outdoor shots.

How awesome is this color? And look how nice my smile lines are-almost perfect.  I'm getting better the more I polish my nails.  So I then took Amy and plate M63 and stamped and funky frenched til the cows came home.  Yes I'm in a rare mood today. It's the DOT COM.

These were both taken outdoors.  Now I didn't show you the indoor pictures because I then added CND Ice Blue Shimmer to the mix and I didn't want to put you in picture overload.

This shimmer actually lightened up the blue of the Peacock and added a little more pizzazz to the already awesome mani.  I think I actually liked the Peacock before the Ice Blue was added.  But it's still a really nice look.

So what do you guys think? Better before or after?

The magic Brick effect

I have something super cool to show you guys today! I got my mojo back after my last post and am excited to show this to you.  My friend Oreo and I did a swap and she sent me a bunch of Joe Fresh polishes that are only available in Canada. You rock Oreo! I have seen these on many blogs and have been craving them.  I am trying to obtain polish from around the world instead of just doing the same old american ones.

Today we have Joe Fresh Brick and hints of Caramel.  The bottles have been at a piano bar, so are slightly tipsy.

How funny is that picture?? Now Brick is exactly that color. The ruddy rusty color of a brick.  The formula was a little runny and there's no way the brush will reach the bottom of the bottle, but I have yet to ever come close to the bottom so I don't really care. They are also only 6ml vs 13ml like most bottles.  But for $3 who's complaining?  Not me!

This color looks similar to me to Nails Inc St Pancras and Deborah Lippmann Single Ladies.  I have posted both of those before.  You can always check out my nail gallery on my blog to see all the art and colors I have done in one place.  Check it out-it's awesome!

Then I took Joe Fresh Caramel and did my funky french tips.

I purposely didn't do any fancy stamping or anything too elaborate. Why you ask?  Because I also got in six of the CND effects polishes.  I thought it'd be fun to play with them to see what they do.  Here are four of the six I got.  One on each finger.

How freakin' cool is this??? My thumb is the original mani. From left to right we have Violet Shimmer, Emerald Shimmer, Ice Blue Shimmer and Lavender Pearl.  I now have five different colors from one mani.  Are you dying yet? Cause I am! I am wondering what these effects will do to other polishes I have.  So the next bunch of posts will have these effects in them.  Until that is, I get bored of course!

I have two sparkle effects that I need to show you.  The bummer is, they have no silver in the collection. Yes a silver sparkle, but that's it.  I would love to see more of the pearl effect.  It's kind of duochromey and iridescent like a pearl is. It's awesome!

What do you guys think?
